Right now, Little Misfortune is at the top of my personal list of bitter disappointments of 2019. I would have overlooked many of its flaws, if it were just a pilot episode in a series. Alas, this is a finished product.

The story made me uneasy not because I thought: ‘those are the kind of things that shouldn’t be said out loud’ but because I thought: ‘it’s unsettling how poorly it is written, how badly they depicted a child’s naivety and how everything is just too over the top’. [12/2019, p.78]

Dark humour is used liberally throughout Little Misfortune’s exploration of bleak themes. Half of the time, you don’t know whether to laugh or recoil in horror. Either way, it’s easy to become absorbed in the plight of our little heroine. It’s pretty short for the price of admission and arguably a little too much of a cinch to play, but a loveably weird tale all the same.

I really dislike this game. The storyline was boring and too many unnecessary dialogues.

Little Misfortune brings back all the dark visions from Fran Bow and it's another disturbing and fascinating adventure.

Um jogo muito bom, do início ao fim. Te deixa surpreso e se você jogar prestando atenção aos detalhes e entender o jogo, fica emocionante!

Don’t be fooled by the glitter and sparkles: Little Misfortune is a surprisingly dark but very engaging grown-up tale about a little girl trying to find beauty in life’s ugliness.

Despite having my skin crawl at almost everything Mr. Voice said, his breaking the fourth wall to rope the player into his scheme creates an awful sense of complicity. Thankfully, this is directly balanced by the joy whenever you can lead Misfortune into any small act of rebellion against him. It’s a giddy combination of adult smugness at getting one over on a rival combined with childish conspiratorial whispering under a blanket fort.

That is so touching game. I think metacritic think healthy while scoring games. This game is proof for that, it should have higher score. I wish the game to be longer. I want to spend more time with Misfortune... So I will play it one more time! Good job guys! Have a wonderful day.

Pretty interesting, wacky game. It was kinda slow at parts and the final explanation for everything wasn't as satisfying as it could've been, but this game really shines in terms of the characters and the voice acting.

Very disappointing game, especially if you enjoyed Fran Bow. This one is way more shallow. The gameplay is worse. The choices are not important even though the game goes out of its way in a ridiculously melodramatic fashion to try to stress that choices matter when they really don't. There are no puzzles. The story is mostly uninteresting and pathetically predictable. The game is incredibly short. Can not recommend at all. As someone who enjoyed Fran Bow this is a huge disappointment.
