Donkey Kong kaveman 2 I've been playing platformers for over two decades, it is my favorite genre in gaming. Jet kave Adventure is an indie platformers in it's pures form. The game feels mostly inspired by Donkey Kong Country 2. Some of the scenery are actually beautiful, platforming through levels feels great. The game has decent controls and the music is atmospheric. I can see the developers put a lot of time and effort in the game. I would call this game a hidden gem in the Switch library. I recommend this games for people like me who like to buy a platform game on Sunday morning and finish the game on Sunday afternoon. If this game was made by a tripple a developer, I would give the game a 6, but since it is made by an indie developer Jet kave Adventure deserves a solid 7 out of 10. If you are a 36 year old man-child thinking about those wonderful Super Nintendo platform games from the 90's like me, you'll feel right at home with Jet Kave Adventure. I bought the game for €3,- and do not regret that for one second. Also if you are a veteran within the genre, I highly recommend to not upgrade your hearts to keep the game challenging!

Jet Kave Adventure A decent donkey kong game Jet Kave adventure is a 6 and a half hour long platformer very similar to the likes of a donkey kong country game, here you play as a caveman that was chased out of his tribe for being an awful hunter, you of course get jet pck, and you travelthrough a variety of levels, simply surviving, this is a pure platformer, dodge, attack, find secrets and go forward, secrets that are actually worth finding ad you can spend them on upgrades, increasing your health, rocks you can throw, food supply you can save up to regain health, get from checkpoint to checkpoint, its really cute and enjoyable, that Is for a couple of hours.. however jet kave adventure feels so generic that it gets pretty stale after only 2 hours of playing.. at least it did for me.. it doesn’t do anything new and its level design all stick to a theme until you defeat that areas boss, so needless to say, you aren’t excited to play the next level, wondering what its going to throw at you.. because you just saw what its going to throw at you in the past 5 levels.. you get 9 levels of the same thing with the ocassional awkward dodge mini games and the awkward boss battles … it wont do anything to excite you or have you kraving more.. but as gneric as it is jet kave adventure is decently enjoyable, just not a must have for yout collection.. I give Jet Kave Adventure a 6.5/10

A fantastic effort from the team at 7Levels. Tremendous graphics for an indie, engaging and fun gameplay, great audio, and an all around good time. It's an homage to the DKC series and it shows, but the jet pack mechanics manage to add enough of it's own voice to be original too. Hi there, I agree with GamerMike3 this game is highly under rated. First of all I’m a veteran gamer dating back to 1975 (Pong). I love platform games and this one is no exceptions. Everything about it is incredible. I’ve been a big fan of Donkey Game and this has the same feel. Jet Kave Adventure is a very challenging game and a ton of fun. 7 Levels deserves a lot more credit than they are getting especially from the so called critics. Game on

Great sidekick to Donkey Kong. For $20 this game has great value. Graphics great. Gameplay Great. Music Good. Its overall very fun and enjoyable to play. Challenging and not easy as I thought was going to be. This is my first review on Metacritic. I especially did this once I saw this game was not getting the praise it deserves! I'm experienced Gamer 30+ years. This game should be a top seller on Switch! Don't be fooled by the low price. You can tell a lot of effort was put into this game. Should be rated much higher than a 5.5 that is a disgrace to this game! This is one of the best games on Switch for sure!!

JKA is a pretty, fun and moderately priced indie platformer. What's to love: 1. the controls are super tight and the game runs smooth (although 30 fps) so the very core of jumping, hovering and dashing is pure fun 2. the game is a looker, one of the prettiest 3D graphics in indie games at this price point 3. every level introduces something new, and some obstacles are really creative (bamboo sliding!, opening flowers to jump on them) 4. while the base game is on the easy side, extra challenges are punishing (in the good sense) 5. looking for the gold statues is fun because they are cleverly hidden 6. chase sequences are intense and I love paragliding - mainly it's difficult but fair (controls are near perfect, remember, in my opinion) 7. For a 2.5D platformer that doesn't try to be "deep" or "artsy", the story is surprisingly fleshed out and delivered in an interesting way (apart from the narrator, all dialogues are pictograms). What's meh? 1. Bosses, although have interesting attack schemes, are ugly. 2. Combat isn't deep, but I have doubts it was supposed to be. Enemies are more like another platforming obstacles 3. Musical segments are fun but not as much fun as in Rayman Legends 4. Some upgrades seem much more useful than others To sum up, it's a fun, fast and colorful platformer. Perhaps it doesn't reinvent the genre but t's really well-made and fills the lack of a new DKC pretty nicely.

Jet Kave Adventure to tytuł, który przenosi nas do epoki kamienia łupanego. Gra jest z gatunku przygodowej platformówki 2,5D, za którą odpowiada krakowskie studio 7LEVELS. Bohaterem jest Kave – wódz pradawnego plemienia – którego poznajemy w momencie wygnania przez własnych ludzi. Historia jest fajnie opowiedziana, bo raz przez narratora i opisana na kamieniach obrazkami, innym razem przez scenki animowane na silniku gry. Bohater po pierwszej misji znajduje jetpack wyrzucony przez obcego, którego statek kosmiczny rozbija się niedaleko miejsca wygnania. Kosmita aby naprawić spodek udaje się do wulkanu po kryształ energii, a Kave podąża za nim aby uratować wyspę przed erupcją i ocalić swoje plemię. Mechanika gry oparta została na znalezionym plecaku odrzutowym, który ma ograniczoną energię. Można więc na nim lekko się unieść, podlecieć lub szybko wystrzelić na niewielką odległość. Po kontakcie z podłożem pasek zasilania regeneruje się. Za broń bohaterowi służy maczuga i kamienie rzucane na odległość. Drugim głównym mechanizmem jest unicestwianie przeciwników napotkanych na drodze (przeogromne insekty, dinozaury, pterodaktyle i drapieżna roślinność). Z takim zestawem ruchów i ataków Kave przemierzy 36 zróżnicowanych poziomów w czterech sceneriach (jaskinie na pustyni, plaża, dżungla oraz wulkan). Jet Kave Adventure przeszedłem w około5 do 6 godzin i zebrałem 27 statuetek z 36 plansz. Dodać do tego należy, że złote figurki poukrywane są na każdym levelu i należy je odnaleźć w różnych zakamarkach i jaskiniach. Motyw eksploracji jest fajnie zrealizowany, a zbieranie nie ogranicza się tylko do statuetek ale też do gromadzenia kilkudziesięciu orzechów. Stanowią one walutę, za którą można ulepszyć jetpack, zasięg maczugi lub zwiększyć ilość życia. Każda plansza ma też dodatkowe wyzwania (przejść na czas / zebrać odpowiednią ilość orzechów / ukończyć bez obrażeń). Czasówki moim zdaniem są mocno wyśrubowane i należy je ukończyć w 2 do 3 minut. Dodam, że pierwsze przejście planszy zajmuje średnio 4x dłużej, bo około 8 do 10 minut. Ukończenie poziomu bez obrażeń też nie jest łatwe. Natomiast jeśli chodzi o zbieranie orzechów to jest to czysta eksploracja, Jet Kave Adventure pod względem oprawy wizualnej rozkręca się wraz z przebiegiem historii. Na początku pustynne, trochę opustoszałe jaskinie i plenery nie zachwycały aż nadto. Jednak wraz z postępem i nowymi poziomami zaczynałem doceniać to co widzę i zwracałem uwagę na detale. Gra zyskuje gdy patrzy się na nią w ruchu, a statyczne screeny nie przedstawiają piękna oprawy wizualnej. Twórcy przeprowadzając nas przez cztery regiony zadbali także o ich lekkie urozmaicenie, więc kilka leveli przemierzymy nocą lub w deszczu. Ogólnie cała wędrówka bohatera z jaskiń na pustyni do celu w pewnym momencie też zaskakuje zmianą klimatu. Design gry to także przeciwnicy, których jest dosyć sporo więc nie odczuwamy powtarzalności podczas rozgrywki. Gameplay opiera się w zasadzie na skokach, podlatywaniu na jetpacku i uderzeniach. Grę urozmaica układ plansz, gdzie raz poruszamy się w bok lub w pionie, a innym razem postać łapie się gzymsów i odbija się od ścian. Tytuł ma też dużo rozmieszczonych checkpointów na każdej planszy, więc w razie błędu nie tracimy wiele z rozgrywki i nie odczuwamy frustracji. Do tego wszystkiego dochodzą walki z bossami i kilka plansz z ucieczką przed goniącym nas przeciwnikiem oraz momenty latane na lotni czy jetpacku. Tytuł zaskoczył mnie też w pewnym momencie, gdyż zostałem pozbawiony mechanizmów rozgrywki, do których zostałem przyzwyczajony. Najsłabszym punktem gry jest moim zdaniem oprawa dźwiękowa, ale nie chodzi o to, że jest zła. Muzyka idealnie wkomponowuje się w to co dzieje się na ekranie i przygrywa podczas całej przygody ale jednak nie zapamiętałem jej. W kilku momentach słyszymy nawet narratorkę, która fajnie brzmi, ale później sceny przedstawiane są piktogramami. Udźwiękowienie pasuje do gry i dopełnia gameplay ale nigdy nie wychodzi na pierwszy plan. Jet Kave Adventure w większości ograłem w trybie stacjonarnym ale rozgrywka w trybie przenośnym również prezentuje się tak samo. Nie zauważyłem żadnych różnic między graniem na dużym lub małym ekranie. Podsumowując przygody wygnanego wodza plemienia mogę powiedzieć, że jest to dobra platformówka. Krakowskie studio wydało już kilka gier na Nintendo Switch ale to właśnie Jet Kave Adventure najbardziej mnie zaciekawił klimatem i rozgrywką. I enjoyed the game and the bonus sections. However it's nothing new and very repeatable. It was hard to control the vehicle in some sections (I died a lot). 3D animation, sound and the Sci-Fi story are a nice touch. But for the price of $20 it doesn't reach the top grade.

I didn't expect t much but it looks like 7levels crafted one of the best platformer last years. Really - PURE FUN!
