Ion Fury is an old-school shooting fan's dream. All of the mechanics are intact, from non-regenerative health to the ability to carry a full arsenal of weapons, and the level design feels intuitive and encourages exploration without needing waypoints. Some of the new mechanics fit in well, but a few, like the need to reload, only increase the difficulty on a tough game. Seeing all of this done on a decades-old engine is enough to convince you of the versatility of those old FPS engines. Unless you hate the old FPS style, Ion Fury is a must-have for your gaming library.

Turn off the aim centering and enable the silent protagonist toggle and the game improves tenfold. 10/10

Прошел игру ion fury. Насколько я понимаю, это одна из тех игр. которые породили поток ностальгических ретро шутанов. Сама игра сделана на движке Дюка Нюкема 3D и по сути является его идейным наследником, только вместо мужика качка тут женщина полицейский, которая также отшучивается постоянно и обо всем( даже есть отсылка к Дюку где она говорит shake it baby). Оружия в игре не очень много, но оно разнообразное, интересное, у каждого по дополнительному уникальному режиму стрельбы. Разновидностей врагов маловато, стандартный набор так скажем, основной моб игры это очевидная отсылка на blood, игра проходиться часов за 10, но врагов могли интересных добавить побольше. Локации все либо городские, либо какие-то лаборатории с подземками,в общем не густо но и не придраться. В общем, игра очень хорошая, приятно было снова поиграть в игру на движке build, однако мое сердце за дюком, ничто его не переплюнет. 7.5 из 10 P.S увидел новость что в этом году выходит продолжение Ion fury, возможно будет круто

All weapons are useful (save for the flechettes). Shelly Harrison's voice acting is nice! Chapter 1 is amazing, its maps were made with lots of love, very life-like, nicely decorated and full of references and crazy secret spots! What makes me subtract from 10?
-Every single map outside Chapter 1 is disorienting and subpar.
-The repetitive dialogue lines between Dr. Heskell and Shelly get increasingly tiring across the chapters.
-Weapons' sound design feel weak.
-Enemy variety doesn't change much and there are so many chapters!
-Not gonna lie, I overrated this game with a 9.5 at the time.

Ion Fury made me feel like a kid again and it's not just nostalgia that makes the game great. The is classic run and gun FPS action at it's purest and despite running on 20 year old tech, it's still a hell of a lot of fun and is one of my favorite games of 2019 so far.

A nostalgic '90s throwback that's challenging, funny, cleverly designed, and shockingly attractive both despite and because of its ancient engine, which enables gigantic levels packed with detail.

Arguably one of—if not the best—modern retro shooter, Ion Fury delivers on all fronts. With its outstanding music, excellent gameplay, incredible visuals, it's a game that will surely take you back to the gold age of first-person shooters. So for players who are up for a good challenge and a fast-paced and action-packed experience, you'll be hard-pressed to find anything better than Ion Fury. Warning: This game isn't for children. Or cowards.

In Ion Fury there are no fancy cutscenes and QTEs, health regeneration or skill trees, just good, old, balls-to-the-wall action. If you have enjoyed games such as Duke Nukem 3D, Blood or Shadow Warrior, then you'll have a blast with this game too.

I went into Ion Fury not expecting much from it, but after finishing the game, I can easily say I bloody loved my time spent with Shelly. Voidpoint has managed to bring to life a retro shooter that takes a beloved style and rigorously craft something so spot-on, so perfectly 90s, but doing so without hampering the experience. The superb and frantic action, well-thought level design and brutal weaponry all play a part in coming together to offer a joyous single player campaign.

3DRealms' return to the Build engine almost twenty years later proves they can still punch with the best of them. A masterfully crafted work of sound and fury this game never once ceases to entertain but can at times feel a little less imaginative than it could be. If only it had as much fun with itself as we had playing it.

Ion Fury is like receiving another chapter of Doom or Duke Nukem 3D, with all of the limitations that brings with it. Ion Fury doesn't revolutionize the genre, nor is it attempting to, as the game accomplishes what it set out to be - a new title that uses an old fashioned style that might not be to everyone's tastes, but is still a lot of fun to play.

The issue is that it is trying to nail something that started to feel stale almost 20 years ago when a little game called Half-Life came out and changed everything.

A lot of bad comments here talk about SJW and the censorship. And I agree. But even without that the game is not good. There are a lot of small enemies that are hard to hit, like spiders and small drones. The rest of the enemies are just recolors of ageneric guy. The world is generic, the weapons are generic and reload too much and too slow and you always lack ammo. I'd give this 5/10 for a mediocre game, but I take one more point off for the cringy protaginist who like a 12-yeard-old boy has to tell us how tough she things she is.

This game is overated really, it barely has any difficulty options and if you choose the only one that is not either normal or easy then the game is is absolutely unforgiving and **** what do you know for some reason a modern game released a few years ago doesn't let you change the difficulty during the campaign ever and that **** ****. The aim automatically locks back to the mid of the screen when you move which means that this is an FPS where you essentially cannot move and shoot at the same time except when the enemy is right in front of you. The design and sprites are cool,nothing spectacular though by any mean. This game could have been good but because of those problems it just ****.
