An hilarious RPG that tries to be light-hearted, yet deep at the same time. Those who love Compile Heart style RPGs will fall in love with this sequel, but detractors will turn their nose up at it. Great for the fans but not a gateway game to bring non-fans into the fold.

With top-tier writing and characterization, Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory does its series proud.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory is in the middle as far as how well it stacks up to the previous titles. I still prefer Mk2’s battle system over Victory’s simplistic nature. The story and character interactions are well improved in Victory, and these aspects kept me playing. Victory is not a bad game by any means, but it is a clear example of changes made in all the wrong places.

Dwelling somewhere between mediocrity and greatness, Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory isn't a bad game by any stretch of the imagination. It's just not a very good one either. A nuanced, rhythmic, and generally entertaining combat system awaits alongside a nascent story for those that can endure more than their fair share of suffering.

It's better than the previous game, and if you like that one, then nothing should stop you from getting this. However, there are better options out there, and this seems to be focused for those looking for a very different JRPG.

On paper it’s wrong in far too many ways to count, but in practice it’s actually pretty fun overall. The strong battle system manages to salvage Neptunia’s faults, and once you fall into the game’s tempo, the story is light and fluffy rather than the cliched obnoxiousness it could be.

CPUs Goddesses Girls are back in virtual town of Gamindustri, this time in a back to the 80s past and the whole arcade and pixel tradition of that decade. Larger, richer and harder than Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2, Victory has a good battle system and a parodic, constant rhythm of guilty fun & jokes about games, but too much dialogues that don't say really anything, poor graphic visuals and a difficulty that makes us to grind constantly to be able to beat a ridiculously difficult Final Bosses. Buy this ticket back to the land of videogames if you really love the Japan RPG in its most pure expression.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory is a compromise between two extremes, which is frustrating because there are so many meaningless textual back-and-forths in between the much improved adventuring that, every now and again, main charrie Neptune will even break the fourth wall and complain about it. It’s kind of like Hideo Kojima stopped by while this game was being made. [May 2013, p76]

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory does have its issues but if you can move pass the graphics and sometimes dated gameplay, there is actually some gaming gold to be found. In terms of completion, we completed this title is just over 40 hours which is huge and definitely gives you value for money, especially if you like Japanese RPG.

While this may only be a very average JRPG at best, despite all of its flaws and framerate issues, Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory is absurdly lovable.
