Even though this Purrfect Edition is a revamped version of the original Hunter’s Legacy, it is still a bit far from being a true perfect material. Nevertheless, even with some rough edges here and there, Hunter’s Legacy still provides an enjoyable metroidvania experience, all thanks to a complex combat and wide upgrade options.

Flaws in the combat really hold Hunter’s Legacy back from being one of the better indie Metroidvania titles. It does feature solid platforming and an interesting world that make it worth picking up. If you like cats and can deal with some cheap deaths then this is definitely a game worth playing.

Hunter's Legacy: Purrfect Edition took a highly underrated Metroidvania game and made it even better with many improvements and additions. Gamers who enjoy the genre are sure to fall in love with this kitty and her memorable adventure.

Hunter’s Legacy: Purrfect Edition fixes several of the issues the original game had by adding a much-needed minimap and making enemies more reactive to your attacks. However, the sound design on Ikki herself is still irksome and the game is a far cry from what it could be. I’d love to see what Lienzo does with Ikki in the future, but for now, Hunter’s Legacy: Purrfect Edition is just OK.
