I normally praise these games to the sky but this game has been troublesome. The achievement for completing all the puzzles without using the skip button has failed to unlock. I have completed the game and the extra chapter many times and have never used the hint or the skip button but the achievement does not unlock. I have un-installed the game and then re-installed it and even rebooted my console but still no luck.. I don't know if this is an Xbox issue or a problem with the game but it has ruined the experience of this game for me. Very disappointed that the game wasn't tested more thoroughly before release.

You already know I’m a big fan of Artifex Mundi and I have yet to dislike a game of theirs so far, which in my opinion is very impressive. Their new game brings an end to a series which I’ve thoroughly enjoyed and Enigmatis 3: The Shadow of Karkhala could very well be the best game in the series. The story has been interesting throughout all of the game’s and it remains the same here. It’s interesting and in some ways clever and without a doubt I was very satisfied with the ending. The game has more than enough content to keep you happy and I was very pleased to see the return of the bonus chapter. The bonus chapter is something that I’ve really enjoyed because I think it fits in with the main story really well and most importantly it’s worth your time. Obviously the main aspect of these types of games are the puzzles, and thankfully once again they’ve been done brilliantly. In fact I would say these puzzles in this particular game are some of the best I’ve come across so far and I think that’s mainly down to the amount of variety each puzzle has. Whilst the puzzles are very enjoyable and packed full of variety I would still like them to be a little more challenging. Without a doubt the puzzles are very easy and I didn’t struggle with any of them so a higher difficulty curve would have been a nice addition because they would have made the puzzles a little more interesting. Another aspect of the game that could have been made a little bit more interesting is the evidence board feature. Don’t get me wrong I actually enjoyed this feature because it makes the story become more of an immersive experience, I just felt that it was lacking in certain areas and I couldn’t help feeling that they could’ve done more with it. If I remember correctly I suffered with a few technichal issues in the previous Enigmatis game, but thankfully no such issues happen in Enigmatis 3 and everything remained flawless throughout. Once again the presentation side of the game shines brightly in all areas and in some ways it actually feels even more improved, which is great. Visually the game’s art style can look beautiful at times and the accompanying sound design is perfect and a special mention has to go out to the voice actors who did a brilliant job of bringing the story to life. At the end of the day if you’re a fan of Artifex Mundi then once again you will be very pleased with their new game. They’ve stuck to their tried and tested formula and they’ve managed to end this series perfectly in my opinion and when it’s all said and done it gets a very big recommendation from me.
