Disney Art Academy
The tools on offer may not be of the highest fidelity thanks to outdated hardware, but they are intelligently crafted to be more than adequate for exploring creativity or sparking a love of art.
Disney Art Academy lets younger gamers become a virtual artist with their favourite worlds!
Of course, Disney Art Academy is not an adequate substitution for actual art courses, and the software is not an adequate alternative to graphics tablets and professional art solutions on PCs or Macs. But what it’s remarkably good at doing is making you feel good about your artistic talents, no matter how limited those might be, and then encouraging you to continue learning a hobby that you may just discover that you enjoy without ever considering it previously.

This is the best drawing game on 3DS. I can draw Disney characters easily and follow the story. Two kids draw characters very badly while you get to be the star. It is fun and easy for anyone.

Nothing can be more interesting than drawing your favorite Disney/Pixar characters, am I right? May seem fun, but ultimately throws away its fun after hours.

Disney Art Academy's biggest charm, in contrast to earlier parts in the series, is its familiar characters. It's actually more fun to learn how to perfectly depict Mickey Mouse's ears rather than painting some boring still lifes. There's much they could have done better, more layers and less story for example, but all in all it's a software that's perfect for the beginner whose dream is to become the next Carl Barks or perhaps a way for parents to get their kids interested in creating art.

Ultimately, Disney Art Academy does exactly what it promises to do on the back of the box. It doesn’t do much more than teaching you how to draw some of Disney’s most memorable characters, but that’s fine.

This Disney version of Art Academy is a nice one, even if it's complicated to be precise enough with the stylus.

Disney Art Academy is a pleasant drawing tool that will surely appeal to a younger audience who recognizes the characters immediately. While the lessons do not go too much in-depth, they are well structured and the possibility of copying the works to the SD card will let the players' drawings be remembered for posterity.

We Got This Covered
Disney Art Academy has a rather involved and in-depth toolset, but its slow pace may bore people who give it a chance. Kids who love to draw and would relish the opportunity to learn how to sketch Disney/Pixar characters while on the go, will surely find it of interest, though.
