Dillon's Rolling Western: The Last Ranger
More of the same, a wasted opportunity for the sequel of a really good game in which players had lot of expectations.

It doesn't feel fresh anymore. [Oct 2013, p.75]
Dillon's Rolling Western: The Last Ranger turns out to be a great evolution of the first game.

Short and quickie =P The game first caught my attention and I decided to buy it, I must say it was worth it, is entertaining and gives several hours of fun, if you have the chance to buy don't hesitate.

"The Last Ranger is quite possibly the best download-only title on the Nintendo eShop yet and is a fantastic game on its own. There are many hours of gameplay to be had here and the game is fairly challenging, so it is definitely worth your money if you are a gamer who likes strategy games and a challenge. It is something I'd suggest to be a must-buy, even if you haven't played the first one. You're not missing terribly much from the first anyways." For full review: ****?f=12&t=6178

However, like the first Rolling Western game, it demands a lot of your attention, and since the sequel is just that much bigger, one has to wonder whether The Last Ranger's relentless pace is just a little too much game to handle.

Dillon’s Rolling Western: The Last Ranger offers both action and tower defense, and the result is a deep but immediate game. It also has a very good art direction that is rare to find in a budget game.

The Last Ranger comes up short as a sequel, as it spends too much time retreading the same territory we saw in the first game and addresses none of its flaws.

The Last Ranger is more of the same, with none of the original's main flaws really attended to at all.

It’s a lesson Dillon’s Rolling Western: The Last Crusade could have used: it’s not always good to be genre-straddling, especially when you do it in a way that leaves both your genres hamstrung and uninteresting.

SummaryDillon's Rolling Western: The Last Ranger is an action tower-defense game which combines the strategy elements of Dillon defeating enemies with weapon emplacements that players can deploy around the map, and the action elements of Dillon directly attacking opponents with flashy action moves like rolling attacks and claw slashes.
