While Undertale is great both as a comedy and a tragedy, Deltarune is good for some laughs but – so far – doesn’t move players otherwise. [13/2018, p.48]
It may not be the near-perfect masterpiece I consider Undertale to be, but it successfully holds onto much of what made the first game great while making adjustments and finding its own place as well.
You sly Fox, you, you’ve gone and delivered an excellent game, and all we had to do was download it (and enter into a tacit agreement not to spoil anything for 24 hours, which many of us promptly ignored).

Once again, Toby Fox cements himself as a masterclass in indie RPG games. Everyone obviously sees this game as Undertale 2, but in reality, while it shares many similarities to Undertale (Being in the same style of storytelling, environments/graphics, and combat) this game still stays incredibly fresh. *SOMEWHAT SPOILERS* The overarching gimmick of storytelling, where your decisions don't matter, I feel, is absolutely awesome. With a fanbase like this, who went down all the different routes in Undertale, to then tell them that nothing they choose or do truly has any difference, I find to be super interesting and very funny. Speaking of Funny, this game is super funny and is able to very effectively communicate jokes through all of the limitations this game has visually. My only real criticsm comes with the games length and plot. This games story is pretty good, but you can tell that it was meant to be a 2 parter rather than a standalone that ties into future games. It's not a huge deal, but i think it's worth mentioning. As a whole, where Undertale felt like a love letter to Earthbound, like RPGs, Deltarune is able to take that and add even more personality onto it

I think deltarune might be my favorite game of all time. and only 2 sevenths of the game are even out! I mean, it's got everything! story (certainly the best of any game I've ever played), gameplay, writing, incredibly deep lore for you to obsess about, comedy, and silly characters for you to get attached to! it's perfect!

Its a good game. But is too short, the gameplay just became fun in the final boss, when you can control Kris, Susie and Ralsei, poor characters exploit and the humor is boring. On the other hand hand, it has a kick-ass OST, and, honestly, this is my favourite of all toby fox's games, The pixel art is beautifull and there characters like Lancer, that are FUN. nothing else, just fun. I like the game, but compared to chapter 2 and undertale, is just boring.

Игра достаточно классная, интересная. Но, мне большенсве треков показались в среднем 5 из 10, кроме двух треков это: rune buster, и field of hopes and dream, они классные.

it's cool in some ways, but i feel like the majority of the gameplay is just me pressing A and B frantically trying to get the dialogue to proceed at some semblance of a reasonable pace. the game pauses just about every 2 steps to make you do this, and it happens over, and over, and over. just give me a cutscene if you have to add this much talking. i don't even mind the dialogue itself, it's often cute and funny, it's the fact that i need to press these buttons constantly, and there's no options for increasing the text speed or automatically proceeding through these portions. the bullet hell aspects are cool enough, and implementing them into the overworld instead of just the battle sequences is a cool development, but abysmally slow walking and running speed just make them feel a whole lot less fun. it feels like this game is a "pressing a simulator" with a few action sequences peppered in, and i'd much rather just watch a cinematic than play this in it's current state. from what im seeing, chapter 2 is more of the same and/or worse. the dev(s) of this series have a lot of heart, but the quality of life features in this game are nonexistent to backwards. when it's a joke for them to be that way, i love it. when it's a constantly present slog of discussions that i legitimately want to read, but which are so badly implemented that they end up being more frustrating than interesting, then it's pretty hard for me to give this a good rating even if i loved undertale and i want more from this studio. nobody came here to play a graphic novel, and if this were a graphic novel it would still have terrible UI.

This was boring. You just go in a straight line, the story is like any kids cartoon for man-children, the action has no depth. This barely counts as an "RPG".
