Is Dead or Alive 6 worth picking up? No. Unless you really (and I mean really) need to know what happens in the next installment of the franchise. Yes, credit where credit is due with the gameplay, roster, and visuals, but everything about the game just has this air of ‘lacking’ around it. The soundtrack could have done a lot more, most of the design was just plain bad, the story felt thrown together at the last minute, and the length of the campaign just doesn’t justify the £54 price tag attached to the game.
The combat system has been tweaked just enough to keep things fresh for Dead or Alive 6, but there is this niggling feeling that the budget just wasn't there for this game, which is unfortunate, because there are plenty of modes and great characters to enjoy. A few too many aspects stand out as sub-par, though, leading to disappointment for many that have been waiting so long for the next entry in this franchise. Still a whole lot of fun and worth at least trying the free-to-play version out if curious, but it may be best to wait for the likely Ultimate edition.
Fast paced, addictive and funny as always, but it doesn’t seem the best episode in the Dead or Alive series, so far.

This game gets more hate than it deserves. There certainly are issues with greedy practices and the inclusion of a meter, but when all is said and done it's still solid DOA. Not the best in the series, but great for newcomers since it's freely available to try out.

After playing SF6 and Tekken 8, I still like DOA6 more. Just better looking characters and gameplay.

Dead or Alive 6 is amazing. It’s the best looking fighting game out there, bar none, and has a combat system that is both instantly accessible for newcomers, without feeling condescending, and yet also offering plenty of depth and complexity for experienced fans. It’s not perfect; the story mode is enjoyable but slightly undercooked, and one suspects that we’ll have to wait until pretty deep into the DLC strategy for the real over-the-top humour that the series is most famous for to start to really shine through. But then, those criticisms also applied to Dead or Alive 5, and that was a game that I played on an almost weekly basis for six years. I can’t see Dead or Alive 6 being any different.

The Digital Fix
Dead or Alive 6 is a mechanically solid and foundationally sound fighting game. At its core, playing matches with others is a fun and thrilling experience that’s easy to grasp if you’re new to fighters or the series. Its lack of modes, however, coupled with its small roster, and a recently revealed $92 season pass raise a lot of questions as to what ideals drove the game’s development. For those looking for a well-designed core fighter, Dead or Alive 6 is definitely a great buy, whether you’re #Teamjiggle or #Teamnojiggle.

Dead Or Alive 6 is still a very good fighting game which allows instant fun, even for a novice player, but you'll need serious skills to defeat a seasoned player. We only regret long, loading times and a weird storyline.

Dead or Alive 6 serves up great fighting mechanics, solid offline mode variety, and looks good while doing it. If you're a fan of the series, it's well worth checking out, even as this latest entry stumbles in the online arenas and the disappointing approach to customization.

Ultimately, I’m not sure if Dead or Alive 6 is the game that fans expected after a seven-year wait, but with its thrilling combat and amazing visuals, it still serves up a fulfilling experience — fanservice and all.

Dead or Alive 6 has a lot going for it – solid combat mechanics and an incredible tutorial mode being the elements that stands out the most – but overall it feels a little too bland and lacking in content to stand out in the sea of great fighting games of yesteryear.

I briefly dabbled with DoA 5 and enjoyed it but when I got DoA 6, I loved it. Now this isn't my usual style of controls. I like Street Fighter, KoF, GG and BB style. I usually dislike these controls but I got hooked very quickly and it is a really fun game. It really feels complete and cohesive and it's really enjoyable. Now the DLC is stupid. Why put costumes behind a pay wall. I'm never gonna pay for a costume set, so just give them me instead of holding part of the game design back. Other than that. No complaints.

It is one of the worst game models i've seen, the physical disc has the demo only (limited modes, only 4 characters, etc) and you need a 20gb update to make it "work", and then the dlcs are expensive as f***, every mode tries to connect to the server even if it is local only, maybe a definitive edition would fix this, or getting it digital, but as a physical buyer, this felt like a scam... I couldn't really enjoy the game at all
