Company of Heroes 2 is curiously forgettable as single player, even though cliched horrors of war and overdose of fake accents try their best. As a multiplayer it shines, although beginners usually think otherwise. [Aug 2013]

Relic Entertainment cleared the hurdle the original game set as far as I'm concerned. Tweaking, remoulding and teasing out the underlying systems of the original, and then layering things like cold weather, may not set the world on fire like the original Company of Heroes did but it's still a solid strategy game and with the right support and continued release of content I can see it living on for quite some time.

Everything its predecessor was: an intense and enjoyable RTS that gives you the feeling of really being an armchair general. It is just unfortunate that after waiting so long for a sequel, it doesn't offer too much in the way of innovation.

**** game. Great strategy when ai just **** out of nowhere a ton of tanks when you start a game 5 minutes before. If you dont know how to make a game, please back to the kitchen or something you have been doing before.

I played the first CoH and it was quite ok. If you like multiplayer, can be fun. But the single player...Every RTS ever: AI has no strategy. Just spam overwhelming amount of troops, usually something that you have no measures to beat in the current situation but you have to go fetch this or that, or you have given a time limit of 30 seconds or something to arrange defensive line or whatever. And your given something like 5 guys with slingshots against tanks, and ofc mines that you should be able to place under fire. Nah, bro. And what about those charging troops that either casually just run through fire or stay in the open shooting back without getting killed? No. Just, no.

[A] shining example of what an RTS game should be: a mix of classic mechanics with new features and technology.

Great game.
Already have 600 hrs. Gonna play more. Multiplayer is very fun. Earlier in game were lots of bugs, balance was bad. In time devs fixed a lot. Now balance good, game feels stable.
I don't understand people, who rates game 0 only because of its singleplayer campaign. I personally haven't even finished it and having a good time. Battles in multiplayer are epic and very intense. You have to think quick, pay attention to lots of things happening in the same time. This tension and variety of factions and units makes me return to this game again and again. Maybe I'll move on to coh3 over time when that game has the same variety as coh2.

This game changed my view on RTS games forever and its story is not bad as others say. It also has awesome macOS port. Just ignore pro-soviet lynchers in metacritic and enjoy it! This game deserves at least 7 user score.

It’s hard to ask for more from a game in terms of content. Company of Heroes 2 provides a robust campaign, substantive side challenges, and a deep multiplayer that has the potential to foster a thriving community. It’s unfortunate, then, that control issues and obtuse game systems cloud the experience.

Band of Brothers of the Eastern Front. An atmospheric, intensive and exciting game proving a real-time strategy is not a dead genre. [Issue#231]

Many, many years we had to wait for the next chapter to one of the best strategy games ever. Naturally, not everything still feels as fresh as it did almost seven years ago, with Relic clearly going for a natural evolution, rather than a revolution. However, this doesn't change the fact, that, a few issues with close camera angles and the AI pathfinding notwithstanding, Company of Heroes 2 makes for an experience as tactically engrossing and challenging as its predecessor.

It might not be leaps and bounds over the original, but it’s enough of an improvement that I can’t see myself going back to the original Company of Heroes any time soon.

Company of Heroes 2 might be the steepest tumble from game design genius to crassly missing the point that I’ve ever seen.

This game presents the history of the Soviet Union as it was. The USSR was an occupation and carried out genocide of its own and foreign peoples both before and after the war. In Russia, they do not teach history and rewrite it instead. It's so good that now Ukraine is **** Russia. As we can see, in the new war, the tactics of meat assaults have not changed.

Una joya me pase su modo campaña por medio del game pass y es brutal, un juego muy recomendado si te gusta la estrategia y los juegos de este estilo.

Extremely boring, nothing new for the genre. Additionally, it lacks of deep on vehicles and technologies of WW2 and tend to simplify all.

2018 REVIEW: I generally liked this game and was fortunate enough to pick it up for free when they were giving it away. It's a pretty basic strategy game model- build structures, train units, micro said units around the map until you win. There are some very interesting mechanics that set this game apart from others: there is context cover that your infantry can use on the map which is quite the innovation. See that wooden fence? Some light cover. A collection of thick trees and brush? Good cover. Did your boys destroy an enemy tank? The derelict vehicle can now be used to take cover. However- the monetization of the game is abhorrent and should not be supported. Ridiculously priced DLC, literally dozens (probably more than 70% in the game) of commanders are locked behind a paywall (the leader you pick for bonuses, commander specific units- similar to picking your race in Starcraft or which country you are in Red Alert), but worst of all. . . there are loot boxes. I'm serious, there are loot boxes in this game. Massive yikes being called in danger close- avoid this game unless you can get it for free.
SummaryIt is 1941 and the beginning of what will become the most brutal conflict of World War II, as Germany launches a full-scale invasion of the frozen tundra of the Soviet Union which would result in over 14 million military casualties. Take command of the iconic Soviet Red Army in brutal frontline warfare to free Mother Russia from the inv... Read More
