A Castlevania novelty. Despite beinga mobile game, Grimoire of Souls is very innovative, combining the Castlevania series to a simpler medium. While the best aspects of the original version have been removed (the multiplayer), the game has now a full story and expanded overall quality. Must play for a Castlevania fan, for the story alone.

For a mobile game, Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls is a surprisingly good game. Though it has mobile game elements like getting equipment by random summons, it has a lot of levels and characters. There are 6 grimoires (Think of it like worlds in Super Mario Bros but with a lot more levels) and each have a cool boss at the end. You can tell that the developers cared about this game, and it shows. The remixed music is great, the levels call back to old Castlevania games, and the graphics are pretty good for a mobile game. If you hate touch controls, you can even plug a controller into your computer, phone or TV and play it like that. If you have apple arcade, you might as well get this game.

The game is a celebration of Castlevania. Tons of fan service here. It runs very well and I found it really fun even with touch controls. Note that I’m a meteoidvania fan and I hate touch controls. If you have an apple arcade subscription, do yourself a favour and try this game, you will not regret it
