Just a very bad game. The comment madeby lolthisgame was me,I forgot to add that I had been playing the game for like half a decade. I know the game inside out. I recently came back to see if the game became more f2p friendly, it hasn't at ****'s actually worse. Lastly, the gacha prices are crazy high in thisgame and havea good chance of flopping unless it's a special chest. I've spent $1000 on caravan during one old event, needless to say they didn't even remotely reward me. Also this game will try to FOMO. Play genshin or tower of fantasy, much better and actually f2p. Personally,I quit as soon as phantasy star dropped globally. Another better game

Terrible game and i played since release so i know. People giving CS a 10 are outright lieing, the game was better at release but ever since Aiming has stopped supporting the NA version well. Way too many bugs, you'll crash everyday, the game is HEAVILY p2w and they recently have been introducing heavier p2w elements. The game is a shell of its old self, its a terrible game. Even promotional events such as crossovers are terrible now. Crossovers use to have their own story and you would get a couple crossover characters for free. Now you legit get nothing without spending and the crossovers have no story and its been like this since they got scummy with lootboxes. This game is garbage, just play Genshin impact. I played caravan for years and its basically a crappy version of Genshin. Also its been obvious for years they dont care about the NA version. They have 0 promotion or anything for Caravan on NA side but the Japanese version has a manga on their main website, they also have a constantly updated yt channel for Japanese version that always keeps them up to date with the developers plans. Unlike most games, the NA version literally doesnt get any news about whats coming to the game until the day the content releases which makes it impossible to build hype among the playerbase for future content and it makes it impossible to even know when crossovers or any events the NA version has will actually release. If youre a NA player you wont ever know whats coming. Lastly, the aforementioned bugs dont ever get fixed. A large portion of the games bugs are from years ago and directly effect enjoyment, but they never get patched. Every time theres a new content drop the game is more buggy than before said content drop released and its VERY common for players to be forced to redownload the game just to play it. I've had several stories ruined by buggy cutscenes and hard crashes, something i can not accept as a hardcore jrpg fan who expected a quality product..

Its originally a Japan gatcha mobile game so understand that the game is heavily p2w and not easy to just pick up and play casually. Yes there are a lot of bluescreens/ translation issues/ loading lag times, etc. It's a mobile port to the PS4 what do you expect? Being said- what kept me interested in the game are its character, world design, collaborations, and WoW-esque auto traveling/ quest completions. The art style reminds me of games out of the 90s JRPG era (Rogue Galaxy ps2 example). The game isn't for everyone but those that stay pretty much are committed to it.

Best game ever. I played the game till I made it to the village, and saw a dog and killed. That was the best time ever. I would only play it just to kill the dog over and over again lol

The game is all around wonderful it's greatly ported to PS4 as the mobile version in Japan the graphics are very detailed the frame rate is constant and there's never a dull moment yes you will hit snag from time to time because like any other great game there are many other players that game does have difficulty spikes can play as multiple races to play and it's basically a hero collector for PS4

Caravan Stories is a free to play sort of mmo/gacha/strategy/rpg and while its not exactly perfect or even that great, it carries a lot of charm in the setting, characters, and story around everything. There's no tutorial about things so it requires some researching but theres wikis that have been helping us out here. The only issue seems to be a lack of response or support from the devs for the NA server. Lots of issues still around from bluescreens, lag, broken quests, etc. Will it last im not sure but if you go into it with a simple mindset that its not all day or that it will break sometimes, you can have a good time playing casually

Don't get me wrong, I like the game. It is easy to play, cute characters and interesting stories. The art is what I like and the content is plenty. However, the game keeps hanging and lots of issues when playing. I am getting sick of all the waiting and restarting. My patience has reached the limit. Every day at least 3 times, in just 2 hours. The game is just too buggy. Gonna stop wasting my time and play other games.

The Good: The characters are fun and attractive. The story is wonderfully told through character interactions. The world is easy to care about. The Bad & UGLY: 1)The gaccha free to play model is horrific here with progression walls that can halt your development for months on end UNLESS you fork over hundreds if not thousands of dollars for gems. 2)The controls are GOD AWFUL in the ps4 version. Even if you've mastered the controls, the server-side movement acknowledgement will have your back line characters careening off into harms way, IF they move at all. The difficult fights will need your characters to be position correctly and at the right moments and you'll lose a LOT of those fights to the controls, not the foe. I even tried attaching a mouse and keyboard. No luck. The game has next to no methods to command your team with mouse and keyboard even though it has options for their use. Nope. You can't click on a character or it's icon, then click or drag or anything to move it where you want to go as you'd expect in even the most basic mouse driven rpgs. 3)The bugs in this game will astound you in how bad they are. Enemies appear then vanish then reappear. Then-- Surprise-- You're being attacked by nothing. Their are memory leaks that force you to reboot your ps4 if you want even a smidgeon of stability. zoning from one zone to another will sometimes(usually at the worst time) disconnect you from the server. Precious gold-giving monsters will vanish from the map... causing you to waist the limited 5 minute daily gold ticket. Quest-markers will fail to prioritize after you've asked them to be prioritized-- Making an already clunky quest system even clunkier. 4) The Enemies CHEAT. capturable monsters use abilities that disappear from their movelists after you've caught them. Monsters cast spells when they;ve been silenced. Poison that ticks away 1% of health only ticks off 312hp from a 10,000,000hp monster. The battle point system is a JOKE. a 15,000bp fight will utterly decimate your team that normally kills 60,000bp enemies. Sometimes the game gives you "assist NPCs" to help.... These npcs die INSTANTLY 9 times out of 10... right at the start... Like a little league linebacker vs an NFL calibre offensive tackle! 5)PVP is a god awful mismatch of whoever happens to be signed in to duel. You wind up fighting gold-whales or beginners. And I've yet to feel satisfied with any win, or justified with any loss. AND it's tied to your character's progression so it's NOT OPTIONAL if you want your team to get better at fighting in pve. I know what I'm talking about. I've been playing for 8 months. And ONLY for the story. Which is good. Save your money. Save your time. Give Caravan a hard pass. I'm too invested. But teetering on uninstalling. I wish I wasn't drawn in. I feel like an abused spouse.

To be honest, I don't get why this game has so many negative reviews here on Metacritic. I found it by coincidence on Youtube when I looked for reviews for anoother game and I'm so grateful that I did. This game is a mmorpg version of games like Suikoden, etc. where you recuit lots of characters to build your own team. But since this isn't enough you can also recruit a lot of monsters on top of that. Sure, it is a mobile game in Japan, BUT this doesn't make it a bad game at all. You can easily play it with the PS4 controller (which is what I do), but you can also decide to play this game with mouse and keyboard if it suits your taste better. The story is quite nicely written for a F2P mmorpg and every character you recruit has a unique story. In the beginning of the game you chose between one of 4 different stories and when you finished those, you unlock another 2 story lines. After finishing a story, it's merged with the other ones. Moreover those characters also have crossover stories. The battle system is kinda like a real time strategy system, which can be compared to games like Dragalia Lost, etc. Your characters, monsters, equipment, etc. have stars, but this isn't something negative at all. If anything, it actually gives you some feeling of progression, which is something very positve in my opinion. Every character can be recruited without any gatcha system or micro transactions and you can upgrade everything in the game just by playing the game. I didn't spend a single cent on the game and I don't see a reason to do so. Sure, it does have loot boxes you can grab, BUT everything you can find in them is also acquired by playing the game and they can only be used to skip some content. But to be honest even MMOs like WOW, etc. have Features to level boost your character and so on, so this shouldn't be a problem at all. The graphics aren't top notch, but they sure are nice to look at thanks to the cell shading effects which are used. And even though the game has those typical MMO killing quests, they feel endurable to me (I usually hate them in other games), thanks to the auto Ccmbat functions. Moreover the game features lots of other quality of life features, like a well designed UI, experience dungeons, money Dungeons, etc. On top there is a nice guild system, which makes it possible to help your fellow guild members with some items or whatever else they might need. You also build your own caravan, which is viasually customizable and even helps you in battle. You also build facilities inside your caravan, which help you to gain gold, fuse items and do lots of other nice things. The character creator is rather barebone, but it is good enough to design your own distinguishable character and on top of that you can create a character for each playable race (of which there are 6 so far) and play all of them in the same caravan. And if all of this isn't enough for you this game even features multiple game modes, like a lane figther and so on if you want to do something else. I put quite a lot of Hours into it already and I can't wait to continue to do so. I definitely recommend this game to every JRPG fan who loves to collect characters, Monsters, etc. You should definitely give it a try, after all this game is free :)

Game was fun at the start, but then got boring. Lots of grinding, P2W and tons of Microtransactions. BP don't mean jack in this game. You can have higher BP than your opponent, yet still get slaughtered. Some quests/character story quests you cannot do, because it want's you to do another character quest. This game will really make you rage. I strongly do not recommend it, if you are someone who rage breaks their things. Honestly I don't recommend it for anyone. Better games out there to play. Also another issue is the fact that there is nothing to look up if you are stuck on something. The web page does not tell you anything that you are needing to know, also there is no report option. All you can do is Blacklist. More stuff needs to happen with this game to make it a fun game. It would also be nice if you could find any type of information on google or whatever for when you are trying to look things up.

Clunky controls. Game plays itself. Too many empty achievements and tutorials. In the hour or so I played I felt like I couldn't go two second without being bombarded with tons of text messages explaining what things do. Very annoying and poor integration of game mechanics. Mobile game quality.

Great game til you hit paywall around 30k bp. Wasted 3 weeks of my time. Now its either pay up or grind for weeks to make a very small amount of progress. I'll do dailies for awhile. Hope the change things.

For the first 30 hours I really enjoyed the game, the graphics, art style and character design is well done and it's my kind of game...however once you hit the grind wall when all the free stuff stops flowing in it becomes a chore to play because you're not really "playing" so much as you're frustrated trying to figure how you can possibly move ahead when there is no consistent way outside of purchasing resources with real world money and that's something I'm rarely willing to do with F2P games because it's a never ending cycle of more more more. I do like the game though and if it were sold as a regular game without all the forced extreme grind I definitely would have purchased it.

Originally a mobile game, this doesn't work nearly as well on console. You're expected to leave it playing itself overnight and whenever you're not around. It's nifty that you can earn stuff while you're away but it'd be much better if there was just a timer for how much you gathered while you were away and no need to leave it running. Seems like poor development decision there. Maybe worth checking out if you're a huge fan of Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms on console. The game is kawaii and I like the squad based combat. I desperately want a turn based and squad based MMO on console, something along the lines of Atlantica Online. Maybe Cryptic's Magic: The Gathering MMO will be what I've been waiting for.

I've only played this game for 1 or 2 hours, so maybe this isn't quite a fair review, so my review might change later, but I felt in this short amount of time, I got a good grasp of the game and its mechanics and how it is overall. Compared to other MMOs and even RPGs, I feel it's really simple and not as indepth, as it holds your hand like any other mobile/gacha game. It's riddled with gacha upgrades and quick achievements here and there to pump out the dopamine to make you feel good, but they are nothing but lots of empty achievements, just like what MMOs seem to be these days. If I want to play a game that is gacha or mobile-like, then I personally would rather stick with one of the Final Fantasy ones since I'm a fan of the series or any RPG series I'm quite familar with and a fan of, instead of getting into one that is almost the same. I thought I might try this one to at least collect some PS4 trophies, but even then there's not a whole lot of trophies, and I managed to get all of them except 3 within that 1-2 hours of playing. This MMO just makes me prefer paying a subscription fee and going back to Final Fantasy XIV instead or a real MMO. I suppose that's what you get for something that is mostly free though. Despite all the negative feedback I gave, the game does deserve a bit of a higher score instead of my nitpicking for not being a fan of these kinds of games and the whole gacha/lottery system. The music sounds beautiful, and the art design is really interesting. The story seems decent enough so far, but it's too early to tell if it will get better. This is something that can be played casually for half an hour or an hour here and there, but it doesn't seem like there will be anything hardcore in it, unless you want to open up your wallet and pay a lot into it.

Overall fun game I've put about 4 hours into the game. I'm not a huge fan of the auto system but you can "manually fight" by using skills at specific moments which I suggest during boss fights especially. I really enjoy the story of this game, my only suggestion would be to make a simpler system of tracking which enemy your fighting I know because it's a mobile port that everything was mostly touch screen so there is some leeway.

Once you get past the 5 minute+ initial loading screen, you are taken to character creation, except every text box that you need for useful information is blank. I created a character, not knowing what I was getting into since I had no info to go on. *crash* Restarted game, waited through the long load screen again. Blank text boxes. Another crash. Tried this over 10 times before uninstalling. I understand there will be issues at launch, but to release a game in that state is just not good. I was REALLY EXCITED to try this, and now I don't want to even go back to it.

Pathetic bug ridden mess, not only did it spend the majority of the launch day in "maintenance" but 2 hours after I have created a character I have yet to play the game. Plagued with freezing loading screens and more bugs than a rainforest. This game is not in a launch ready state, wait or pass entirely on this one. Up to you. EDIT: got in the game. Filled with micotransactons from character upgrade materials to gear. Base game offers very little other than fetch quests and even has an afk grinding feature. This game is not designed to be played, it's designed to pay your way like any other mobile trash out there, now available for PS4.
