Bus Simulator 27 is the best bus simulation experience that we have right now, and it does a lot of things right. Its visuals are excellent, and you really get to feel like you’re driving a bus. The fleet with over 45 buses is amazing, and each one of those is excellently designed. The game ooze realism, but it does come with a cost. The performance can be quite tricky if you have an older computer, and even on a newer one you will have stutters or hangs, along with a large number of small bugs. Despite that, I think Bus Simulator 27 does a great job at being fun to play, immersive, yet also very intense. They did an amazing job when it comes to setting up your own company and designing routes, even if I wish they offered more liberties when it comes to designing routes or managing employees. But in the end, Bus Simulator 27 is a great bus game, maybe the best I played in the past few years. It needs some more polish, yet as a whole, it has an exceptional framework that I hope only gets better with the planned, subsequent DLC.

Bus Simulator 27 was a frustrating title to review, but not for the reasons you may think. The game delivers on many aspects fans love about the simulation genre, with a huge map and plenty of content. After my more than 15 hours, I still feel like there’s plenty to do in the story. Felicia Bay is an exceptional locale to drive around, with great attention to detail. Passenger interactions, though limited, made me feel like a bus driver rather than a chauffeur. The game also does a great job introducing its systems to newcomers. Unfortunately, despite all these praises, Bus Simulator 27 feels like it needs more time in the oven.

Bus Simulator 27 offers a way to let you customize how you experience the game, giving you the choice between realistic and difficult. While the game has a solid foundation, its current state is flawed in a way that makes it feel like an early access title. With some updates to refine the driver AI in particular, it could become a worthy successor to Bus Simulator 21, and offer a fun way to hang out with friends without the stress that can come with other online gameplay experiences. Right now, it's simply not at that point.

If you hear the title Bus Simulator 27 and your ears already perk up then you will have a pretty good time with it. It offers a good amount of different buses, a relatively deep management system and a nice environment. The story mode does offer something even for newcomers but ultimately this game is made for a certain niche that will probably be able to deal with the many smaller and bigger problems that persist in all the game modes.
