It is definitely lacking in the accuracy department and suffers from the same style of tactics working time and time again, with the AI never seeming to learn, which will spoil it for more experienced RTS players. But hey, if Blitzkrieg 2 lit your fuel depot then this expansion certainly won’t douse the fire; it just fails to recruit the necessary reinforcements to entice in new players.

An expansion for the fans - it does little new, actually, it does nothing new, sticking to the traditions of expansion pack history.

The gameplay feels a bit outdated in comparison to newer RTS offerings such as "Company of Heroes," but the game still utilizes some unique features, such as the reinforcement system, that make it quite challenging.

A fairly run of the mill expansion pack that offers few new incentives in terms of missions or units, and it’s not something for every WWII RTS gamer to snatch up.

It's a pretty sexless affair nonetheless, and as such, it just doesn't float my amphibious landing craft. [Jan 2007, p.68]

Another uninteresting slog around the World of Wehrmacht. [Jan 2007, p.104]

Vets of the franchise will likely be taken aback by how brutal it is to achieve a victory in even the early skirmishes, while newcomers won’t have a clue how to do much of anything. Heck, even the tutorials are rough.

We're not entirely sure that anyone other than the hardest of the hardcore Blitzkrieg fans are going to enjoy this one. The lack of variety among the missions and the incredibly unforgiving difficulty level make it unapproachable for all but the series' most ardent followers.

Unfortunately, while the game mechanics and interesting mix of units would, in theory, allow for some good old-fashioned combined arms tactics, in practice, the most effective strategy is rushing the objective blindly, blasting anything in the way – which is much less fun than it sounds.

For being an expansion, the developers didn’t focus on providing new units or game modes. Blitzkrieg II: Fall of the Reich is catered to the fans of the series and is one last hoorah for them.
