This game is a must play for any Batman fan and a must play for any Telltale fan. The story is different and refreshing but has the best of Telltale baked in with the decisions and the flowing dialogue. It was a pleasure to play and another shining example of great story telling in a game and had some of the best QTE I’ve seen in one of their games.

I began this review series by wondering if it "might just make me feel like I am Batman." By the end, something even better happened: I figured out how to properly be Bruce Wayne. I couldn't be happier with that conclusion.

The usual Telltale's formula, applied to a superhero story, with some smart ideas and a plot focused much more on Bruce Wayne rather than on Batman himself.

It was not easy to come up with something new and interesting in the Gotham City’s universe, but Telltale Games nailed it with this Batman series thanks to a thrilling and well-written storyline.

If you can accept the studio's adventure game formula and the fairly large deviations to the canon, then Batman: The Telltale Series is a good game. The story remains gripping, and the additions to the gameplay formula make this feel more refined over the studio's previous efforts. The lack of further technical polish, however, is unfortunate; fixing those issues would've placed this game in the upper echelon of the studio's offerings. As it stands, Batman fans will certainly want to check out this title.

Batman: The Telltale Series starts strongly, recreating and altering the Batman mythos in new and inventive ways, but can’t keep it up and fades towards the end of its run. It perhaps isn’t Telltale at their best, but still a series worth checking out for fans of their work and of Batman.

Despite a weak ending, Batman: The Telltale Series remains a great story for whoever loves the Dark Knight. Nevertheless Telltale needs to solve a lot of technical flaws and vary mechanics that are becoming too old and a little bit stale.

A strong and original Batman story held back by poor dialogue and overly contrived plot devices. [Feb 2017, p.76]

Dear Telltale, having to write this breaks my heart, but we cannot see each other again. Please don’t message me, please don’t call me to tell me about Bridget Jones: The Telltale Series (or whatever franchise you’ll turn into a primitive, derivative husk of a game in the future). I’d love to say it’s not you, it’s me, but... well, it’s you. [02/2017, p.54]
