There Goes the Neighborhood has serious weapon-related AI and collision detection problems. The arenas and the movement system are surprisingly good. [Jan. 05]

Three times superior to its predecessor. Though still well shy of very good. [Feb 2005, p.100]

Although I had no clue how to do anything, I still had a good time! Plus who wouldn’t want to wrestle by the pool?

PSM Magazine
The all-important create-a-wrestler is rather lackluster - which, sadly, also best describes the game as a whole. [Jan 2005, p.73]

Because of its shallow combat and poor presentation, the game loses its thrill very quickly for anyone not a devotee of the subject matter.

Compared to last year's game, this is last year's game. There are so few improvements that whatever you hated or liked about the original is what you'll hate or like about this sequel.

Official U.S. Playstation Magazine
What really makes this game a disaster is the presentation. The character models and environments look like they were made using "Fighter Maker," which is to say that one one with a fundamental familiarity with 3D modeling was hired to make this game. [Feb 2005, p.91]

Unfortunately, while hitting porn stars with weed whackers to the finely articulate tunes of the Insane Clown Posse might sound like a dream come true to some, the junior high-level execution of this game just brings down any possibility of a truly good wrestling title.

Backyard Wrestling 2 There Goes the Neighborhood is a great wrestling game of this franchise. Unlike the previous game, Backyard Wrestling Don't Try This At Home. This second installment has actually improved overwhelmingly and so is the music. The sequel got proper character customization where you can finally create a character by customizing hair, skin, face, size height, and clothing including accessories from the shop instead of finding a character model and reskinning it. The controls in the game improved and were almost very easy to use I favorite the weapon grapples, environmental moves, and super specials and of course, arenas may not have a ring but most of the arenas are absolutely unique in their own ways. The Career mode of the story is just winning the game. All you have to do is win the $1,000,000 prize and become BYW World champion by getting 3 little belts that are Eastern, Western, and Northern champions. Career mode has repetitive tasks which make it a little more stressful rather than enjoyable. And even the roster is kind of big. Each and every single character only focuses on getting the million-dollar prize and the Insane Clown Posse in the game gave me death threats to my character every time I won a title belt and showed upcoming characters that are only in the carnival rather than other venues which sounds like uyou just show death threats of jealousy then wait for a little longer to beat all 3 bosses in the final. In conclusion, I am going to give 9 stars for this game. It may be not perfect for Def Jam Fight For NY but it's still a great game to play. If you want to try something new and underrated then play this game that brings in the Neighborhood.

I like this game even though the controls are rough I had a lot of fun playing with a friend. This game manages to be much cooler and more violent than WWE both in game and on TV (real life)
