Fire Pro Wrestling World provides players with some of the best pro wrestling gameplay since WWF: No Mercy. The inclusion of the New Japan Pro-Wrestling license is just the cream on top of this yummy cake.

The console version, then, starts somehow lame. In fact, suffers from a big problem: it is obviously more expensive than the PC version, released a few months ago and offered at a budget price.

I think most buyers of the game that hate it don't take the time to dig into the deep mechanics. Yes, on the surface it seems simple. If you gloss over the controls but don't bother going into the create a character and looking at the ratings, move-sets and logic, you're missing out. Customization is fantastic, the modding community is bustling with activity, and it constantly surprises me with little details that make this game fun (IE, settings for random guys in your stable-or opponents stable- running into the ring, having a manager ring side, etc.). This is the first fire pro game I've played and I love the flexibility and gameplay. It could be that because I'm older, I dig the graphics and overall style of the game. But it still plays ten times deeper than what I've seen across other wrestling titles. It's not a button masher, it requires timing and true strategy to win in this game. This was definitely worth the 20 bucks or so that I paid. I've spent that on much worse in my lifetime.

From the customization to the arcade gameplay everything is good but the online has some problems that need to be fixed

The best simulation of professional wrestling ever created. Endless customization, a plethora of match types, and every wrestler is there for the picking/creating. You can even make your own ring. If you've never played a Fire Pro game it will take time to learn the basics. The gameplay used to be a major hurdle for new players, but there's actually a training mode in FPW called Mission Mode. Stick with it and you'll be having 5-star classics in no time.

This is a bit like marmite. I always wanted to play a Fire Pro game during the last decades, as I had heard they were really something special. As a wrestling fan, I was up for trying any wrestling game. But they always seemed only available via import. So in 2018, we finally got a straight UK release for Fire Pro on the PS4. I must say, I'm a little disappointed. You can make pretty authentic caws but the system is not as user friendly as it could of been. I found the gameplay itself disjointed. I certainly couldn't play it for long sessions. Fire Pro has it's moments, but I wasn't blown away. When it comes to retro wrestling games, you can't beat the N64 classics.

One of the worst games I've ever played...EVER. I love wrestling games... always did. I've grown up with 2k games and they are miles better than this hot pile of crap. It's the game I've played less out of my 550+ games. Die hard fans will say I don't understand the core gameplay, and that may be right, but it's because it's so badly explained and so badly developed. You have to be the most patient being on this planet to just comprehend how to grab the **** IT'S A GRAPPLING GAME FOR GOD SAKE. Fights go like this: You throw a punch?...oops, you weren't exactly aligned with your **** doesn't matter your punch went through the other character, it's a miss. You're trying to grapple?...oops, you didn't press that exact button in the time span of 0.001 seconds, it's a miss. Really, the only good thing about this trash Is the customization, thanks to their website (that makes also the simple action of logging in a pain in the ass) you can literally create anything you want. Other than that, I really hated this game for every. single. second.
