I must admit that I have a real soft spot for Artifex Mundi’s games and the main reason for that is that they allow you to relax and just enjoy what’s in front of you. Abyss: The Wraiths of Eden is no different and it’s another good addition to the genre. The story which is very important in a game like this is very good, and the best thing is that it’s interesting and exciting throughout. Not only do they have a very good story but they have also made the bonus story return which adds even more gameplay to the fold. The puzzles in the game are very fun to play and I must admit that I enjoyed most of them. I would however have made them a little more challenging because I didn’t get stuck on any of them because they were a little too easy. There was also too many hidden object puzzles and I think they should have limited them somewhat. The mechanics and controls in the game are as good as ever, and the most important thing is that they remain fluid and responsive throughout. I was however a little disappointed to learn that they didn’t include the fast travel option, which in the end makes travelling a little tedious at times. The presentation side of the game is something I always enjoy with these games, and this addition is no different. The visuals and sound design combine really well together and make the good story an even better story. At the end of the day I always look forward to when a new game comes out from Artifex Mundi, and Abyss: The Wraiths of Eden provided me with some very enjoyable moments. It’s not the best game that Artifex has made but it’s not the worst game they’ve made either, so fans of these particular game’s will without a doubt get some enjoyment here and for that reason it gets a thumbs up from me.

If you like puzzle and exploration games with hidden objects to find along with weird European legends buy any one of the many games coming from this developer. They are all fantastic and offered at a price that makes me never think twice about grabbing them up when ever they come to Xbox One. Love these games and always get excited to play them when they become available. First day buy every time.
