One of the best RTS games ever. Best game in the AOE series. Some say that the graphics look cartoonish. But it enables you to quickly identify the buildings units and allows the game to load on older machines. (I ran the game in 2007-sih old laptop with reduced resolutions.) Downsides: 1. Microsoft stopped developing the game any further. What was implemented so far is all that one got. 2. Had to buy one premius civ to make my time worth it. ($10 during promotion.) Even then it needs lot of time in PvE to raise to level 40. Now on hindsight I would have skipped PvE and just would've gone for PvP. Positives: 1. Very fast paced game. You should check the vidoes provided in youtube streams of community manager IamPrezSteve and in twitch. 2. Still active PvP gamers. And if you read the official forums, lot of experienced gamers still discuss balancing the civilizations. 3. Each civ is unique and differs quite "substantially" from other civs. They have unique gameplay and are enjoyable if you perform the same quest but with different civ.
