I can't believe I only learned of this sequel a month after release! I loved the previous game and I love this one even more. I recommend repeating stages until you get a perfect run! It's too a short game otherwise; and, besides, it's such an aesthetically pleasing game to spend time

Pros: The wirebug movement system can be a joy to use; unfortunately, this is usually the sub-optimal method of getting around the map as riding the palamute mounts tends to be faster. Neutral: Although the graphical performance is impressive on the switch's limited hardware it comes at the cost of a noticeably low fps cap. Cons: Suffers from the typical "games as a disservice" nonsense wherein they sell consumers an unfinished product with the promise of finishing it up over the months after its release by which time everyone's already finished with the game.

Although the sword motif is great, the moveset is just joyless, and this is somehow worse when playing as the pilot outside the mech. The available upgrades add no depth to the game, and the characters have hardly any personality. To anyone interested in this game, I would strongly advise getting Blaster Master Zero 2 instead.

The core gameplay has so much promise! However it isn't until about 35 levels in that the levels really start to get interesting. Unfortunately there are only 50 levels to speak of in total. The underlying mechanics are truly fun, but the game is inundated by its own unrealized potential.

I went into this game with high expectations which may have contributed to my disappointment with the game. To its credit, the game is every bit as stylish as it seems. This is a game where 100%ing each level requires a high degree of familiarity with it, but when playing the game this can become tedious because at its core gameplay is not all that fun.

This game is worth buying for the aesthetic alone: the environments, the adorable character designs, the music they're all perfect. Yet somehow they managed to pack in a SOLID hybrid platformer/racer on top of that. It isn't hard to just complete the stages, and unless you undertake the real challenge this game has to offer—the complete mastery of its controls—it will be a short game for you. If any screenshots of this game caught your interest, then don't worry; it's exactly the game you're hoping it is. I would love to see these characters again in a sequel. This is definitely one indie developer to watch!
