Code 8 is better than a mere calling-card film, though one senses a desire to check all the boxes of fan expectation and professional packaging rated higher than the kinds of personal expression that might have lent it a more memorable idiosyncrasy.

While the Code 8 movie's premise is more interesting than its other elements, it's handled well enough to warrant further exploration. Code 8 works better as a proof of concept than a standalone sci-fi thriller, serving up fascinating world-building with a fairly basic story.

This movie was amazing! Discovered on Netflix, loved the universe!! Wish they made it a tv series, so there could be more stories explored.

Amazing film with an amazing cast - do not listen to the critics, enjoy for yourself, has heart and a great narrative

Though this clearly isn't meant to be a lighthearted story, a glimmer of wit here and there would've helped keep viewers engaged in the action and endeared us to a cast that is competent but hardly charismatic.

The ideas outpace the action in a movie that’s clearly been made with passion and intelligence, but without the kind of zip that this kind of story demands.

The bad guys are more interesting than the good ones, the heists — including an armored car — are generic.

Code 8 is an average movie with a predictable plot, very b - tv pilot vibe to it. Some interesting concepts in here but nothing surprising. Overall this movie has alot of heart and was an entertaining watch. Fun to watch the ammell brothers acting together!

It's OK I guess. It's not anything that needs to be seen. At least the lead actor puts in a better performance than when he was on Tomorrow People. If you are looking for a superhero movie then this really isn't it. It's something of a re-used story and not very original. Powers are only secondary to the story. It's like having a soda and you don't want another drink but you are still thirsty afterwards. Wanted to rate this as a 5 but maybe it's a low budget and somewhat dull 6 instead ? That's generous.

It's a reasonable premise for a story but shockingly told. Why people with supernatural abilities would be down and outs is never revealed. It should be the guts of the story but in reality is a minor sub plot to a drug gang stealing money, quite ho-hum. If you are recovering from a bad bout of the flu it might be worth watching.

Marked as a Canadian film... didn't expect much but somehow I got worse than I expected, good for background noise whilst cleaning the house..
