Holidate

It’s a Christmas movie that makes you laugh. There are a couple of cheesy scenes, though, so don’t worry if that’s what you’re looking for in your holiday viewing.

The movie surprises on almost every level, breaking a number of contemporary rom-com rules along the way thanks to Tiffany Paulsen’s self-aware screenplay. I don’t mean in the meta-satirical sense of, say, David Wain’s absurdist They Came Together. More like a watered down Nora Ephron project.

Though the central idea is fun, everything that’s been built around it feels rote, if not totally outdated.

It's a fun conceit trapped in a broad and retrograde flick.

In such troubled times, one supposes there’s comfort to be found in the lack of adventurousness of Holidate, but it’s like opening the same present again and again.

In trying to play up the naughty, witty side of the rom-com equation, the movie settles for snarky. It’s an acrid fairy tale, if not without a few pleasures, and it arrives on Netflix just in time for — wait, Christmas?

Holidate is a reminder of how easy it is to get every aspect of a romantic comedy wrong.

Holidate doesn't add much in the rom-com realm, and if you add nasty jokes to it, it's not a good recommendation for Christmas.

Ainda em dúvidas sobre a atuação da Emma Roberts. No mais, nada de novo. Razoável.

I'm not much a fan of romantic comedies but this movie was a pleasant surprise for me. Throughout the movie our two characters 'date' over holidays and gradually develop feelings for one another though not properly conveying this or having a serious conversation about it. Overall I feel the performances given were sincere and sweet and I enjoyed this movie more than others of the genre I've seen. It's a goofy movie and definitely worth a watch.

Forced jokes, forced script, if you need more time to set up the script just make a mini-series. Everything seemed like they took bad jokes, bad script and scrambled it up hoping it will make an ok movie. AS USUAL ON NETFLIX or more like NOFIXNET? crappy quality and abusing the name brand to justify low quality movies.. in my opinion Netflix is the worst movie streaming platform to ever exist

Predecible, mal actuada, para ver una vez y nunca más.. te tiene que tomar desprevenido (como me pasó a mí) para verla.
