For starters I have been a fan of the series ever since altair came on the scene. So I know what im saying when I say that this game in my opinion is probably the worst installment in the series to date. Instead of the assassins evolving and getting better with the times it seems that in this installment your assassin has somehow taken a step backwards it actually feels like your a recruit again. Ubisoft has stripped you of two of your most important combat abilities which is the counter block and the ability to garb another enemy as a human shield to block enemy bullets. The lack of these two vital abilities coupled with the processing power of the xbox one and the playstation 4 which allowed the developers to fit more enemies on screen at one time then ever before is a bad combination. There were times when there were so many enemies on screen that I got killed before I could even get my bearings. The enemies favorite tactic seems to be having half the group come after you with swords while the other half beats you to death with gunshots because there is nothing you can do about it. Because of this design choice you are forced to roll around on the ground like an idiot when you see that someone is trying to shoot at you and while youre making a public spectacle of yourself youre getting torn up by blades. So you can counter a sword strike and take a bunch of bullets in the back or you can roll around and possibly dodge a few bullets but get cut up with swords. Pick your poison. Another odd design choice is in this game is you have to buy different abilities instead of learning them over time. Which I guess will work for some people I mean it kind of gives you a chance to customize your assassins abilities. They have also completely eliminated naval battles which was a major staple in the last few installments. Now I know that this is during the French revolution but I know for a fact that the French had a navy. That brings up another point. Why are you limited to the city of Paris? But the odd design choices are just the tip of the iceberg. Lets talk about the selling point of unity. The multiplayer. Not much can be said nothing good about it anyway. Simply it doesn't work the servers are hit and miss and playing with random people online is a hassle because non one wants to communicate everyone just wants to be Rambo and kill everyone instead of being stealthy and working together. The last thing I want to talk about is of course the terrible game ending glitches. Unity will just randomly stop working. Ive fallen through the world and been stuck running in place on a flat roof top and on more than one occasion ive been unable to climb up the sides of building even though there is clearly a ledge within reach he wont grab it. So overall it was disappointing. Strange design choices and glitches hold this game back and I hope ubisoft dosent repeat this mistake.

Bodycount on the Xbox 360 was a bad first attempt at a first person shooter by codemasters a company that seemed to earn their money from racing games. To me it seems they tried to combine a classic arcade shooter with the mechanics of battlefield. Some stuff just doesn't mix. For starters the story is non existent the game doesn't explain who you are or who you work for. you're told you represent the network. Is this a private company or a government program? It doesn't tell you. It just drops you into Africa where there is a civil war raging and you're sent there as a mediator. I'm just assuming that's why you were sent there. The mission briefings are also bare bones. When I say mediator I mean you kill everyone no matter which side they represent and when the enemies first spot you and they will there are very few stealth elements they automatically forget about each other and focus on you. Enemies are very easy to kill and they couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with fully automatic rifles. The main enemy is a group that calls themselves the target. The game doesn't explain who they are. Are they a private military organization or what? The game mechanics are wonky and some are broken. For example I threw a grenade at a door to blew it open but instead the grenade glitches through the door and detonated on the other side doing no damage to the door and the game boasts destructible environments. Speaking of that the environments are to destructible the cover gets blown away so easily it feels like you're trying to hide behind paper walls instead of concrete. For example you have an ability to drop land mines I dropped a mine right next to a glass window the mine barely scrapped the glass and it **** like I just threw a brick through it instead of **** it with the edge of a mine. the game also has a few questionable design choices. Such as looking down the sights of you're weapon. You don't actually bring up the sights you just lean you're head forward slightly. There is nothing wrong with that but the problem is that bringing up your sights freezes you in place eliminating the ability to run and gun. One thing that really stood out to me as a horrible design choice is you're ability to call in airstrikes. You can only mark the area directly in front of you for airstrikes. That makes this ability completely worthless because most people wont use airstrikes if they have enemies directly in front of them. In a nut shell the game was disappointing it tried to mix a classic arcade shooter with a modern military shooter and it failed and with it being only 3 to 4 hours long its only worth in my opinion 5 dollars max. Its a way to kill an afternoon but its not a fun one and if you want to boost you're gamer score the achievements are relatively easy to get. If you do want to play it once you find little reason to play it again.
