Auto Modellista3
Aug 14, 2014
Released in 2002 by Capcom, Auto Modelista is Capcom's much hyped and flopped racing game. The game received a fair bit of hype because Capcom said was going to the first great online racing game on the PS2. Sadly it wasn't to be, but is it any good. Graphics wise this game is solid. This is a racing game that still looks good today. Everything in this game has this really nice cell shaded comic book look to it. The cars also look pretty damn cool in the game with tons of different kinds of cars from Ford Camero to Dodge Vipers. This with the great sense of speed and excellent menus helps this game last the test of time. Sound wise it's also pretty decent. There a decent selection of music, but nothing too spectacular. Aside from that the game is just in general very respectable audio wise. The game play is mediocre at best. I'll be honest with you I'm not the biggest fan of simulation games like Gran Turismo, but at least in those games, I don't spin out every 30 seconds in a race. This is probably the biggest problem I have with the game. The controls are so touchy that it's hard enough to keep the car going straight as is, but it get's even harder making turns. I personally will never figure out how to get a good grip of the controls. If you can do a complete race without spinning out every 30 seconds, great for you, I'm an idiot. Probably the best things I will say that it has all the standard modes, it has early use of online play for the PS2 and some cool ways to customize your car. The problem is at the end of the day if the game doesn't play well, it all doesn't matter. Overall Auto Modelista is an absolute disappointment. There are some cool ideas and it's pretty cheap, it's just there are so many better racing at the time alone that you shouldn't bother.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force Zombie Ninja Pro-Am4
Aug 14, 2014
Aqua Teen Hunger Force Zombie Ninja Pro Am is a very unique kind of game. The game combines a 3-D beat'em up with a golf game. I could not think of a more random combination if I tried. The plot involves Frye getting accepted to the most prestigious, exclusive, public golf course known as Jersey Pines. He decides to bring along Meatwad and Master Shake through 12 of the most screwed up holes of golf ever. The graphics are respectable enough. Levels are about as screwed up as the content of the show. References and jokes based around the show and pop culture are plenty. The graphics are pretty good. It's a 3-D decent interpretation of the show. The audio on the other hand is annoying. I will say this the story itself is pretty funny, but the in game audio is annoying. You will hear the same voice bits and lines so many time that you will soon turn it off. The game play for all of it's uniqueness, fails at being a good game. The problem is that it's just not a good beat'em up. You hit your ball then run all the way there, while getting attacked. Where is goes wrong is first artificial intelligence is dumb. enemies will mindlessly run at you over and over again until they drop. the only difference is that bosses will pop up near the hole and they have 1 trick to do so you can do damage to them. Problem 2 is that the hit detection is mediocre at best. Easy hits often are misses and this happens all the time. The only way i could consistently land hits is to spam charge attacks. This would give you a big enough area so you can land damage. These along with just swarms and swarms of enemies makes this game just a really boring game. Not mention that the golf is really mediocre mainly due to some of the gimmicks they added to the game to ratchet up the difficulty. Probably the best part of the game is the fact you get episode of the show and i was at the time never before seen. That's a pathetic statement when the best part is episodes of the show the game is based on. Overall Aqua Teen Hunger Force Zombie Pro-Am is a par for the course TV Licensed game. It serves no more than to extract more money out of it's fan base. If you are a fan of Aqua Teen Hunger Force then ok pick it up. But there are so many better Golf and beat'em ups games that i can't recommend it.

.hack//Infection Part 15
Aug 14, 2014
.hack Infection is the first of 4 games in an episodic series of games. The plot involves a game within the game. you had just signed up to a game called "the world". After a few tutorial quests with a friend, you run into a special and almost unbeatable monster. The monster performs a move that sends him into a coma in real life. He then finds himself with a bracelet that has the power to change the programming code of "the world" so it severally weaken his enemies. with this comes accusations of him being a hacker or a virus and many allies along the way. At least that's what i got. The game abruptly ends with many questions unanswered. For a 2003 game the graphics look ok. The levels look decent with the use of 3-D meets anime art style. The problem is that for what it tries to be it fails at. It tries to simulate a wide MMO, but every level is closed off and is accessed through other means. There are tons of dungeons in the game, but not a lot are needed to finish the game. Not to mention a good chunk of them look the same. They recycle the same style for 80% to 90% of them. same goes for the enemies. Sure a lot of them are menacing, but they get recycled so often that it can get mind-numbing. The audio is ok. The music is appropriate for dungeons and has a high quality sound to it. The game is also almost completely voice acted, which is a lot more than MMOs can say at the time. The problem is some of the voices are absolutely annoying. Certain key items keep saying their names out loud. You end up getting them, not because you want them, but to shut them up. The voice acting during the plot on the other hand is serviceable at best. No one in particular is good or bad. The game-play is boring. The game is a hybrid between an MMOs and a Action/RPG combat system. The problem is that it does neither very good. Every fight plays the same. You go up to your opponent and play shot for shot till someone dies. Not to mention none of the enemies are loaded in. Every fight has a giant sphere in which monsters are loaded in. this really takes you out of the experience if you ever played Everquest or similar games. Another problem is the dungeons. Plot crucial dungeons have set place for you to go to complete them. This makes the game even more repetitive when you realize you do the same thing to get a good item from a dungeon. The difference is that you teleport out during at the end of main quests. So it fails to simulate a MMO, it fails at being good RPG and since it cuts the plot off so soon, it fails to have more than a paper thin plot. Overall .hack Mutation is a bad game that is held together with a cool concept. If the first is a sign of things to come, this is going to be a long ride crappy ride for you. If you have any interest in the series, i'd say play at your own risk. This is a cash grab. Do not be duped. They spread this along 4 games to see how many **** would give them $250 over 4 games.
