1. Physics. No railway more - its great progress, no aversion produced by driving. Quite close to V-Rally 4 model, BUT, the car is still heavy like a tank. It produce furious grip at asphalt, car get stuck instead of sliding, and for compete with fast drivers you still must go complex sharp-twisty virages atfull-throttle. In the same time, in such locations as Italy or Portugal we see clear, that they still use jet (rocket) engine for acceleration, because if car slides like boat in lake, without correction possibility, - in what way it could accelerate so great with slight gas touch? No by tyres, obviously. So, still no powerslide. 2. Picture. Its catastrophic fail. We still see the same squalid cartoon-soap faded picture, BUT by "improvements" they managed to make game unplayable even for middle-class systems. As for me, I play with 1060 card only at 720 resolution and most low graphics settings, from time to time being crashed by the freeze. No words, that "exellent" new locations like Estonia and Croatia looks not simply ugly - fearful. But many people now forced to buy devices like 1050 Ti or 1550 Ti for not bad money, and these devices were turned directly into pumpkin by this game. Very nice. Recognize, that at times at bitcoin mining you have to delete useless improvings and go at least to level of WRC 5, wich was playable without vertical syncro turn off, which now only allow me to p[lay. And in the same time, the question is so... why in SLRE (2016) I can not only enjoy higly detailed, with natural no-soap lighting and bright colours picture, but alsao to renew world records with monster 600-1000 hp cars at 960 with live recording and FHD without it, using old 960 2GB card? What a hell? They still proudly press logo "KT engine" at screen during game loading, but nothing here presented for to be proud. Its trash and dead-end. If Solar Crown will be made with it, great fail assured. May be, better to buy old engine of SLRE?... 3. Interface and gameplay. Career regime will not discuss, its in vain. We see again fantastically scoffing interface, which become worse and worse from times of WRC5. For example, from older times after stage finishing in quick-ply regine we see online leaderboards... top list again and again! As for me, after a pair of restarts I can reach this list, but most of players never reach it. They want to see their own position, but for it they must release wheel and use MOUSE for handle targeting of switch field. Everybody knows solution, used by codemasters... but not these guys. So, it was prev version also, but now, for example, they force you to use entire set of 15 clicks for launching quick game stage. For what? Really, its very hard to realize, are they so brainless, or they spoils for purpose? Tracks still remains of a type of crazy obstacle course which you will never pass first or third attempt without a series of mortal crashes, low pace. But now they also added animated spectators, staying directly at road behind turn, and you kill them many times before finding way to pass. But, in differ with carmageddon, you will NOT recieve bounty for it. Mentally ill junkies and stoners - the only words I can find for those who made it, in official sports game. Live online gaming totally dead. Still the same dead sessions, blocking game possibility for everybody. Even without ghosts I often cannot control car mostly with 2-3 rivals. And for ghost turning off I must leave session (which it will be impossible to find again). While in WRC 5-7 I could turn ghosts on-off directly in game easy - also great improvement. Tracks renweal also too slow. "New" Finnish tracks I played year ago now are boring for me, no words other locations didnt changed for 3-4 years. So, the project goes dead end. We need no more such hack-work products as official game. I give 4 points for really improved physics, but generally its 2. PS. Forgot to mention interesting thing. Now again you can compete with ghosts, downloading from online leaderboards. BUT they still block such huge country as Russia for downloading possibility, and you must use VPN. Although the game supports Russian language for most of features. Also you cannot use Russian flag for positioning yourself during onlinbe play and so on. Its simply unbeliewable, especially taking in mind great chance of possibility that they made all these for me personally.

This is simply hack-work: instead of creating new game or at least working on improvements, developers play with numerical parameters of their engine, change a bit some of them, and then start sells. Nor realism, neither quality -its NOT their aim. Now, so great thanks, three new locations (with price of full game), Japan and NZ are even good, Kenya ugly and nothing interesting, especially in comparison with the same location in V-rally 4 (produced by the same developer two years before). Picture remains of low-cost type: often you feel like your screem is blurry with dirt. Many years we made excuse for developers, ignored this problem, but now me personally cannot suffer it more. Enough, for the ends of all! In 2016, when Kylotonn started his work with WRC series, Milestone released Seb Loeb Rally Evo with clear, absolutly no-soap bright picture... so, looks like, its time to put WRC license back to Milestone! As for car handling... my opinion is so: here they need NOT work hard. Of course, me personally would prefer SLRE engine also, but for such massive game more simple system of V-Rally 4 is more suitable. Just here they produced optimal balance of their (Kylotonn) engine parameters. Its quite realistic and very funny. But they refused this their own achevement, playing up to Dirt community. Just in this game they simply parody DR 2. On the one hand, we can mention, that they succeed and made something more interesting and funny: no such viscous sliding, no this plastics car and plastics surface feeling, like in DR. Also I feel myself better, than in WRC 8, without that unnarural and ugly "simulating" ) travails. But, on the other hand, the result is TOO unrealistic. Especially brakes are wild: usual brake affects car more, than handbrake in any rally game I can recall. Also acceleration extremely powerful, and despite we dont feel car is too hard, with such jerks car keep greep and as a result bolid again recieve furious driveability. So, at twisty roads with endless surprizes installed at each meter, crash probability is too high, but in the same time with many attempts you can find solutions for passing these dangerous track elements at wild speed, using convulsive controller movements, measured with pharmaceutical scales. As a result we have gameplay type of LAP RACING games, NOT rally! This gameplay consist of endless track **** and building freezed solutions, each time reproducing in the smallest detail. Its the opposite pole for true rally experience, which we find in RBR, SLRE and other good games and which presuppose improvisation and creativity. Really, I always make long brake playng WRC series, many month and even years, but now, entering the game, I feel, that I simply cannot see these tracks - bored too much with them. But no such effect in SLRE! Its not by the reason of picture quality, but rather because each time there, passing track, I can find a hundred of different creative solutions for each virage, and I reach high results not by each turn ****, but by reproducing car behaviour feeling for the track as the whole. Its absolutly clear, that such series deveopement is dead-end. Such game is not needed, especially while codemasters continue in the same way. Only realistic physics can give some sense with playing same tracks each new year (with good picture, of course). Other way - creating track generator, based, for example, on huge world of FUEL type using. No thousand of stupid surpsizes, but simple road - each run new. So, now it simply nasty to think for me about regular playing this game. On the other hand, playing for fun is also impossilble, because without endless **** you will crash too often even with mid pace. And online playing again killed with stupid penalties, by which they with maniacal obstinacy continue to spoil their game. Especially enrage when they mandatory return you to track with giving penalty in situation, when you can do it with your own without game destruction. Impossible to understand, for what they do it. Then we can ascertain ZERO level of anticheating protection: in first day of playing at online leaderboards for each track we see on top 0,01 sec results. With it they go to orginize esport competition again! How is it possible? I think, the most credible version is that they make competition just for cheaters and between cheaters: who can cheat better? I met many arguments for it last years, but most interesting - just in this game: they finally destroyed ghost system! You still can download, as if, ghosts from leaderbards' top (if you are not in Russia or in some other countries - there you must use special software, substituting your location, for avoid blocking) - you can, but, 1) you dont see these ghosts at 1st sector, and 2) when they appear, its visual absolutly dont correspond with time gaps system show to you. Clear: they made it for prevent cheating evidence recordings. No techsupport&community page!!

This game is no-doubt forward step from WRC 6-7, but for me - backward step from V-Rally 4, produced by Kylotonn past year. For me, first of all, car physics and handling aspect is important, but for others we can mention the same. For example, picture is also better, than in previous WRC, but worse, than in V-Rally. So, in physics we see return to the origins of WRC5, only spoiled by modifications of two following versions. Now it became more sophisticated and advanced, but in the same time - still also spoiled. And I think, that developers spoiled for purpose, playing up to previously created community, preferring not rally, but "mad hotlap" gameplay type (in V-Rally everything was quite proper with it). Really good I feel myself with R5 cars (WRC2), but when I try higher class.... here you feel, that car moved not by tyres, but by jet engine, and also turns not by tyres, but by invisible hand. And yes, here we see "Dirt Rally effect", first time in the Kylotonn series: car sometimes accelerates, turns and brakes even directly in air, in flying position after jump. Of course, its not the result of necessity to simulate more powerful engines: in SLRE monster 1000hp hill-climb cars does not behave in such way. The problem is in fact, that in this new game car dont lose grip at high speed, it sometimes lead to jerk-type acceleration, producing undrivable drift, but its also produce fantastic drivability in most cases. The rule of fast moving here is "never release trottle and cut turns in most possible way"... while in real life and good simulatirs, like RBR, SLRE and also V-Rally 4, just free sliding by wide lines with slight corrections by gas pedal give advantage and solves all, as well as earlier braking before turns and so on. And, as a result, not physical intuition, mastership needed here for win, but long track ****: the game made for tarmac lap racers, which bored with their usual tracks and wants something more hot. But this "more hot" is NOT rally, where, in real competitions, you drive each stage only ones, and all that chapito tricks, making succes here, in game, are absolutly excluded and impossible. Since we see here old WRC6 mad and ugly tracks, used for many years, -it make most type of avaiable competitions sensless. For WRC simulator we need 300 km in each location, generated by engine just before run, with 50 km of specials. It would be really great, while to produce again the game with 3 stages per location - its absolutly in vain. Time for such generator is gone! In Dirt4 first step was made by Codemasters, V-Rally 4 also made it's contribution, but now we need quality world with really flexible road net, each time new. Realistic traks, without specially made traps behind each turn and knoll, and realistic physics at level of SLRE or at least V-Rally4, - it will make the game really good. On the other hand, career regime in this game, at least with eatable R5 cars physics, can bring real enjoyment. Generally feelings here is better, than in new Dirt Rally, car is not holded by rubber springs (substituted metal railway from DR1) and can move quite free. Bad news are in the fact, that not only cheaters still feel themselves free here, but, looks like, developers and portal administration play up to them also. We see fantastic time in online leaderboards, but also in weekly challenges a half of top list is beeing fullfiled with evident cheaters. For example, if you'll download leaders ghosts, you sometimes can find, that they goes along entire track with 6 gear. But the most interesting, that its not so easy to download these ghosts: looks like, portal administration blocked this option for some users or even countries! Me ocassionly found, that I can download these ghosts while special software enabled (this software I use for access some sites, blocked by our goverment: it substitute location data and so on), otherwise I recieve message "check your internet connection". Its very similar, that developers made it for purpose. Generally, they made everything for destroy community: now we have not any working forum, where somebody will explain us problems and tell, for example, when promised live match will start to work. Interesting, that in September I found in facebook personal message to me, where WRC8 team offered me to share with them information about possible cheating in esport competition they organize. I wrote them, that first of all I need ghosts, aviable for pursuiting in game, for analyze their behaviour... and as a result we meet situation with ghosts described upper. Now I really suspect, that this competition is totally corrupted: it even similar, that some built-in cheats presents in the game, and affiliated participants recieve access to them, winning then with that 6th gear runs in esport as well as in challenges.

I was top-player in this previous game, but I often simply cannot reach finish: fly to precipice, because slight gas touch push car great, it begin to slide in undrivable mode, At short Mexico track I got minor tear car (WRC2) - dont help. And now each time you recieve 10 second penalty. These guys are absolutly without head, impossible to understand, for what and for whome they produced all these.

I was top-player in this previous game, but I often simply cannot reach finish: fly to precipice, because slight gas touch push car great, it begin to slide in undrivable mode, At short Mexico track I got minor tear car (WRC2) - dont help. And now each time you recieve 10 second penalty. These guys are absolutly without head, impossible to understand, for what and for whome they produced all these.

I really love this game. Sliding on ice is exellent! You must be creative, carefull, and also rough. thats it what I expect from rally game. Technical problems presented, but developers solve it succesively. And even picture I like more and more, with its great diversity of daytime-weather conditions.
