I can't stop playing this game. The basic fetch quest system is unbelievably addictive. The world in which you play out these quests is also superbly crafted. The locations all look stunning and really feel alive. The music always helps capture the essence of the location or the moment. There's so much to do in a world that's very interesting. The concept of jobs helping other jobs out means I am constantly switching and improving. I've not felt this sense of addiction to a game in a very long time. Considering there's so much content in the game too, I honestly feel like it's the best handheld RPG made since pokemon red those 20+ years ago. Only criticism - framerate drops. But not enough to detract from the score. 10/10

My relatives come over to the house just to play this game. We have an absolute blast together. There is no other experience out there quite like it. Typically the person on the gamepad is put in a much different role to the other players and more often than not in the role of an 'enemy'. After each game we pass the pad to the next player in the circle and continue on. Hours can pass so quick without notice. There are also solo games which use the gamepad in very unique and fun ways. But these too are not just single player and a second player can help out with a wii mote. I couldn't fault any of the games in particular but I would say that Metroid Blaster was definitely my most played and the game I had the most fun with. Take the game for what it is, a fun game designed for bringing people together and you will get hours of entertainment. If you want a purely single player experience that exhibits all of the games qualities then this is not the game for you. But hey, that's just my opinion, I still did have a blast playing some of the solo games on my own. This is my most played wii U game to date. Its replay value is off the chart.

Possibly my favourite indie game purchase to date, definitely my most played. At its core it's a platformer with puzzle solving elements, you also have enemies to defeat. You have the ability to jump, shoot and of course the main mechanic is block switching. Tapping the switch button will bring some blocks from the background to foreground and vice versa for the blocks already in the foreground. They can be used for many things such as defeating enemies and usually platforming on. The first level opens up with literally no control explanation, you figure the game out as you play (or tap the home button to bring up the manual, you boring boring person). Tap each button to find out what to do, running along the level failing at the first jump when you forget about the switch mechanic and it all feels so lovely and nostalgic like the great platformers of the past. There is some deep level design in the later levels which will take more than just one go to complete. Once you finish the game you open up a hefty amount of bonus levels and remixed levels to keep you going for hours. There are par times to match which get you a star beside the level at the main screen for bragging rights. One thing worth noting is the awesome soundtrack composed by Jake Kaufman. The futuristic and funky beats perfectly matched each level and had me downloading the tracks straight from Jake's bandcamp. Overall a very fun and addictive game. Definitely worth the price. It comes with off tv play and miiverse integration. I used both extensively. Post your times to miiverse to see if anyone can match them, it's very fun.

Trine 2: Director's Cut

I really enjoyed Trine 2. It's a 2.5D puzzle platformer with some fighting in the mix. The core mechanic of the game is, at the tap of a button, switching between 3 main characters to solve puzzles and defeat enemies. Each character has their own personal abilities. One you use to fight enemies while the other may not be a good fighter but is agile etc. One of the best things about Trine 2 is that even though the developers designed the puzzles to be solved in some particular way, there is always a chance you could come up with your own solution. That in itself makes the gameplay very fun and addicting, I was constantly trying to find my own solutions. The games environments are also very beautiful. They take you through lush forests, castles, from sunny beaches to snowy capped mountains. I can forgive the games length for its price. It can last up to about 6 hours and there is extra content at the end. I loved the off screen play too, you can control things with the stylus, a perfect way of handling point and click which standard console controllers have not handled as gracefully. Overall it was a very fun experience and definitely worth the small price. As of writing this review it's currently on sale. Pick it up!

This game had a wonderfully innovative control scheme that I feel people didn't give enough of a chance and so just rushed back to the familar wii-mote control scheme. With that being said the wii-mote control scheme still feels very fresh and I used it for boss battles. I would highly recommend using the pad in general though, scouting first then retry the day with everything you need to do in mind. You can get so much done when you work the three main characters simultaneously at different tasks. The game itself looks beautiful, the world is vibrant and lovely. The campaign lasted a healthy 18 hours for me, I collected all the fruit in that time. Beyond the campaign there are missions which you can play single or with a friend. These involve collecting fruit and defeating enemies to rack up points all within a certain time limit. Again proper strategy is the key along with level familiarity. Me and my girlfriend are still playing these. Last is bingo battle mode which I have unfortunately yet to play because I am enjoying mission mode so much. Overall I could not fault the game.
