Beautiful storytelling packed into a creative collectathon adventure game. Awesome characters, soundtrack, plot, worldbuilding, and game mechanics.

Game was pretty good. I loved the gameplay, and the characters and story were fine, though not super outstanding or memorable. But god damn this port ****. Crashes every hour makes me constantly lose progress on dungeons; i crashed during the final boss battle so I technically didn't "finish" the game because I ragequit right after and just watched the ending on youtube. -2 stars just for the god awful port.

This genre of game (that this specific game pretty much invented and spearheaded into popularity) is not everyone's cup of tea, but it certainly is mine. After almost 400 hours sunk into the game (100% on 2 saves) since the alpha, I can confidently say this is one of my favorite games of all time. It's a strategy game that inspires creativity. Also, it's still better than all of it's clones. I've tried so many and some of them were cool but none could top this classic. Also I beat ascension 20 heart with shivs before the accuracy buff. Yes that's a fat flex.

A unique take on the roguelike deckbuilder genre, but it's not only very repetitive, but also terribly luck-heavy to a point that it's just unfun most of the times. However, it does show promise and with more content and balance tweaks when it comes to "dungeon" generation, I can see it being a banger.

9 stars. Good 20 or so hours of exploration and discovery. Lots of customization and upgrades make the game so much more satisfying than it already is. Feeding blobs and selling their excrement has never been more appealing.

Only fun with friends. If you get this game for yourself you are in for a world of hurt and it will be difficult to stop.

Having replayed this a few years back after playing the other 3 entries, I realized that this game really falls short. That is not to say the game isn't great, but this game has by far the worst story in the series. It's linear and non-sensical, but is interesting and still moving. One of the biggest qualms I have with this game is how the partner pokemon turns into some random guildmate postgame. That's so lame. This game still has great gameplay, spritework, and soundtrack to warrant a solid 7/10.

hard to find flaws with this game. I guess if you want to be technical, the story is logistically impossible, but I won't get into that. Brilliant story, brilliant character, brilliant soundtrack, solid gameplay, great sprites and portraits. I love every game of this series but this one takes the cake as the top dog.

Solid entry to the series! Gameplay has been dramatically brushed up upon from GTI and feels optimized for a mystery dungeon game. Story starts off wayyyy toooo slowwww but I really liked where it went and the characters were very cool (espurr is the best). Great soundtrack as usual with games in this series. 8/10, points off for slow story start and also not too memorable of a story.

I'll say it first, this is a good game. The characters are some of the best in the series, and the story was predictable but fun. My favorite partner/protag dynamic of the whole series and I actually teared up at the end. 8/10, knocking off points for what others have already criticized it for: lack of playable characters, lackluster gameplay mechanics, etc. Soundtrack absolutely bangs like the rest of the series tho.

Poor story, decent/good designs, mediocre everything else. Like seriously, the story was literally a straight line from start to finish with no interesting characters. Graphics were underwhelming. 4/10 and would be lower if not for some of the pokemon designs being cool.

This game getting reviewbombed or what? Anyways, 7/10 for low content and poor textures on some terrains (which is pretty important for a game of this genre), but overall it was a pretty fun experience. Never played the original so I don't have a comparison for reference, but as an avid player of FPS games and a fan of pokemon in general this was a super cool concept to me. There is actually difficulty involved in regards to aiming projectiles with different trajectories and timing. With the lacking content (only 200 or so pokemon cmon) I would say it isn't worth the full 60 for most people, but I think I had my money's worth in fun.
