The controls are awful and the bugs are annoying. That out of the way- the game is amazing despite its occasional flaws. It has one of the most realised worlds I‘ve ever experienced with characters and moments that you will remember for quite some time.

This game is a masterpiece. There’s so much content it’s almost ridiculous. Excuse me for this comparison but it really is a Dark Souls like experience in 2D fashion. It’s hard but rewarding, sad but hopeful. The bigger story is subtle and you have to interpret a bit but that’s what makes it so intriguing for me. And oh god the music is out of this world. No really, the City of Tears‘ theme ist stuck in my head and I‘m completely fine by it! As this is a metroidvania game it’s evolving in a beautiful manner. Even though the first 3ish hours are starting out slow, after that you can explore the world in your own pace. So all in all, all these wonderfully combined elements (including the cartoonish artstyle and the variety in the locations) make for an amazing game. Do yourself a favour and buy this game for a ridiculously low price at max. 15$.

I now am 15 hours into the game and I‘m loving every single moment of it. For 15$ you get an addictive game that keeps evolving and surprising with its hidden mechanics. The artstyle is reminiscent of the past and the music is good at keeping you engaged. While difficult at times it’s also an unexpectedly relaxing experience with lots and lots of content. I would rate the game a 9.5/10, thank 4quarters!
