This is an ambitious game by a small dev team. Absolutely loving my time in the game and being an ordinary adventurer in an extraordinary world. Outward doesn't hold your hand, something too many games do nowadays, and it's a refreshing change of pace. Can't wait to see what Nine Dots does next!

First, I haven't played any prior Gundam Breaker game, so this is my introduction to the series. The game is okay and I love building and painting my own Gundam, however, there are also several issues that are keeping me from enjoying the game as much as I feel I could be. The largest of which are the actual battling mechanics and how the fights generally play out. It bothers me quite a bit that I essentially have to spend an average of 1/3rd of every stage boosting around collecting boxes just to unlock the abilities I've chosen for my Gundam. It's not enjoyable to do this. Then, frequently, I find myself getting stun-locked by what feels like a dozen Neutral Forces focusing on me, or the entire opposing team (this is the AI, I have not tried multiplayer). I'm also not a fan of how easily the parts seem to fly off my Gundam during a match. This wouldn't be as big of an issue to me if it was easier to tell what parts laying around were mine and which were parts from opponents. This has all led me to look up Gundam Breaker 3 since I see a lot of praise for that entry and because I'd never heard of the series prior to NGB. I've since ordered GB3 and am waiting for its arrival, though I do hope they're able to patch NGB into a state I'll enjoy later. I feel like there's a good game in here somewhere, but I think they made some odd choices in the design that have made it hard to find.

This is a greatly improved version of the first game. Most of the changes Undead Labs made are things I frequently found myself wanting in the original, such as the gas, community leaders, and hostile survivors. I'm very pleased with the game, especially at $30. After about 5 hours I have yet to run into any bugs or crashes, with the only issue so far being one instance of stuttering that lasted about 5-10 seconds. If you were a fan of the original State of Decay, I would highly recommend State of Decay 2.
