The game is the same as any other Pokemon game but disappoints on many of the promises that the higher end hardware a switch runs can deliver. The game is barely 'open-world' with dated if not completely missing animations for Pokemon. The new Pokemon are unimaginative and uninspired and could be easily named things like electric dog and sheep. The crit hit system makes the game way too easy and thoughtless, button-mashing 'A' hoping that the fight can end sooner. The characters are uninspired and boring, showing 0 emotion. 3/10 for nostalgia.

Played 16 hours in the first 2 days. A really fun and addictive game which has endless potential.
