The Tick (2017): Season 11
Oct 3, 2018
Episode 1 was good and even "clean", suddenly episode 2 had tons of cursing that didn't aid in the story. Amazon has this problem with their shows. They offer a pilot that's really good and then try bait and switch in the actual series. They did the same with "Sneaky Pete." The writing is uneven, episodes inconsistent and if it had retained the good qualities of the previous shows it would be a **** it is there's a long way to go for a good show.

Bill Nye Saves the World: Season 10
May 17, 2017
This doesn't seem like science and there is SO much wrong with this show. As an example: Paleo diet means only eating meat? or Nobody wants nuclear power? It's nearly the opposite of the Bill Nye shows of our youth we were hoping for here. "Settled science" is the opposite of science. When you misrepresent or deny any point of view but your own, you are not participating in science. If "settled science" was the measure then we'd still all believe in a sun going around the earth, Einstein's static universe, phrenology and spontaneous generation (to name a few). All science has to be able to update and adapt or it isn't science.

Scream (2015): Season 110
Sep 1, 2016
This is one of my all-time favorite shows now. I don't watch it until the season is nearly over so I know I can rush into the next episode without waiting. Each time I think I know who it may be I begin to question myself due to the other turns with characters. The acting is solid, the filming is solid and the characters are mostly relateable. It doesn't play up the teen angst thing too much and instead weaves a great narrative for each person's motivations.

Time Traveling Bong: Season 11
May 24, 2016
I had no information on this show going in other than the name. I'm a fan of most time travelling shows. I didn't think it was great, but since it was only 3 short episodes in length I wanted to see it through. The premise is these roommates (who are cousins) are riding their bikes (as it's irresponsible to drive stoned) these futuristic looking characters appear out of a puff of smoke and are run down by a Hummer. They find this bong in the bushes and via a magical app that translates anything on screen by removing the old text and putting English in its place, discover it is a time travelling bong. They end up in the past, the bong gets broken and at each stop through time one of them loves the place and the other hates it. Eventually they bounce to the future and run into the creators of the bong and the people who get run over in the beginning. They get a new (unbroken) bong and bounce back to the present. Most of their stops are just to have orgies with some population or other and the crude plot wears thin so fast that you'll want to shut it off to spare yourself. How many times can they glorify ****, incest and more? It was thankfully a short series and I hope it isn't renewed and disappears into the digital dustbin of history it deserves.

American Horror Story: Season 19
Nov 5, 2012
American Horror Story embodies the realities of modern life (depression, birth issues, infidelity) and mixes them into a deep horror mythos that makes the flawed characters the focus rather than unnecessary special effects, too much blood or insane violence that has recently become what makes up the so-called horror genre. In focusing on the characters and their everyday lives within the construct of the
