Great acting, great story and character development. Amazing that you actually feel sorry for these brutal mobsters

The acting is very good. So is the writing. The story is compelling too. Its characters are well developed. A big drawback for me is that it always seems to go too far in the violence and nastiness. The characters will do anything to get ahead. They think nothing of stepping on their so called friends, routinely lie, even hurting their best friends if it will advance their appearance to the public. Maybe that is what LA is really like or maybe this is just the Hollywood version. Hospitals are not really like Gray's anatomy and funeral homes don't have nearly the drama that Six Feet Under had. Still, the show would be better if they pulled it back just a bit.

This show started with a group of highly unlikely characters, believing unlikely things uttering an unlikely dialogue. Initially we got only glimpses of characters. As the show has moved on, we start to get to know the characters much better, they have better dialogue and their actions make more sense. My primary objection initially was that the main character is described by her colleagues with awe yet she never inspires awe. She is still not an awesomely inspiring person but she does come across as highly competent at what she does. The show has improved significantly after its pilot. So I watched it some more and it has started to grow on me.

The premise of the story is absurd. A highly talented, former APT ballet dancer goes off to Vegas because the pay is better as a chorus line showgirl. Right. Then, after a few years wasting her talent, sick of the partying life, she goes to Boring Town USA with a guy who visits her once a month or so in Vegas, whom she really doesn't like but marries anyway. Of course. The main characters are depicted as both witless and very bright at the same time. The townspeople are depicted as witless boobs still living some time in the 50's. It as though TV, radio and the internet haven't penetrated the city walls yet. The acting is mixed, some of it very good but it is the writing and story line that need the most work.

Excellent writing and acting. It has the feel of a real N.Y. police detective office. The show is gritty and graphic. The characters have their own personal issues and how these affect their work life is explored too. I hope the show is around for a long while.

Pros: The two leads are good and have real chemistry. They can also act. Cons: The supporting actors are weaker and a little over-the-top with their lines. They are less believable. To some degree it is the acting and to some it is just their lines which sound just a tad too much like forced sit com one liners to get a laugh which makes them less funny. This show can make it but the writing needs some work. As it is, it is the kind of show I would watch if I wanted something to do but would not be terribly disappointed if I missed a show or three either.

Although the acting is good the writing does not quite make it. It did have potential. The show has some funny moments and would have done better if it was more mature. As it is, it feels like it was written for 15 year olds experiencing testosterone for the first time. The station did well to pull it and put the show out of its misery.

Funny with some drama, good dialogue and really good acting. There is real chemistry between the characters. While the show's premise is a bit thin (ultrasmart law associate who never went to law school) they somehow make it work really well. I look forward to the next installment.

I'm clearly not the target audience. I miss by a few decades. Still, the plot was slow and really without much imagination. The dialogue was way too predicatable.

I only watched the premiere. The characters were shallow. The acting seemed stiff. The dialogue sounded contrived. The acting was probably stiff because of the lousy writing. There is just so much you do do with a part. These folks have done much better on other shows. Unless the writing team is changed it is hard to imagine this getting better.

I thought this would be shallow and goofy at first watching. But the show is growing on me and explores some interesting social issues. The only oddity is that one of the girls is protrayed as coming from the wrong side of the tracks yet appears to be living a very middle class life.

There is more gore than Mash but times have changed. Excellent drama and goodcharacter development. Good dialogue. I look forward to the next show each week.

The characters build on each successive show. The raw talent at the top is amazing. At this point 3 or 4 of the contestants would make excellent addtions to the show.
