Devil May Cry 47

Before this game I was read-only (watch-only, to be precise: anime, cut-scenes from previous parts and so on) fan of this universe. And I'm definitely glad, that my close relationship with it begun due to this game. The setting ranges from pretty good to awesome, except, maybe, sewers, that part was just strange. The music is quite good, the fighting tense but passable, and the Dante... I fear, Capcom will never surpass themselves with this character.

Hard Truck: Apocalypse6

Actually, the game was no good. It had poor graphics, weak plot, raw setting, questionable fighting and economic models. But this was freaking hard truck postapocalipse Action-RPG! Yes, there are a huge lot of games, which implement one of these parts on the highest level. Nowadays there are even some acknowledged to be good ones, which contain more than one part of this list: Borderlands, Rage, Fired Up for PSP... Maybe this **** just worked in Russia for some reason. Maybe space or pirate games were enough to enjoy such gameplay elsewhere. But personally, if anyone will ever decide to reanimate this idea, they can count on me.

FUN as it is. Shoot, ride, blast, kill, enjoy. Hack'n'slash system works better than in first Mass Effect, and, personally, better than in classic hack'n'slash ARPG-s, because of the fact that this is freaking shooter. Plot is a bit dim and spread in the game in some very strange proportions, providing long and boring corridor to the final boss. The thing is - this game is not about a plot, in cooperative you won't even hear half of the the monologues behind the voice of your mates. Graphic style - just excellent. Game-design - solid, but with strange moments like passive rakk hive boss or same NPC appearing in different locations simultaneously.

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind9

I am relatively young player: when Morrowind was released I played only some educational games for kids. Still I had a chance to play it before the release of Oblivion, and still I have that oldschooler feeling "Why can't they just rerelease it with better graphics?". Though, it is not just nostalgia, since Morrowind there were no game with such rich mechanics (except Dwarf Fortress, okay) and a balance between complexity and casualty: you had not to try a number of times to complete some quest, but had a permanent feeling that 5 minutes ago you did something wrong and do not understand your stats well enough. The world was huge, maybe, honestly, way too huge, but there was not assumed that you complete 100% of the game, it was pretty much another life to live, and you just couldn't make it all. And yes, some part of me misses cliff racers.
