Look, this game is niche. It's not for everyone. If you think you'd enjoy it, you may hate it. It's that niche. You spend most of your time gathering resources which are scattered all over. Once you get to Tier IV gathering or so you'll start to venture into yellow pvp territories where only people flagged as hostile can gank you (but everyone else can attack them). Red is open combat but you can see how many players are in the zone, black is open where you can't see how many people there are. If you die in PVP outside of a yellow zone you will lose everything you were carrying. For me, I find it exciting grinding away the same as I found EvE when I was into it. Sure, you're doing repetitive tasks, but you see a hostile is in the zone and you've gotta be on your toes. It's so satisfying evading a ganker and fleeing to safety with your stuff! Gathering gear gives you a lot of abilities to help you get away as well. As far as pay to play, I don't feel that way at all. For example, if you're gathering - the node will have 9 total resources, you do 3 actions taking 3 resources per action. If you're premium ($10/month) you'll get 50% extra resources. You also accrue fame/learning points with premium but it's by now way pay to play. There's no trial and to my knowledge there's no features locked to free players other than owning a private island which is a pretty small part of the game imo. I've experienced no server disconnects or bad latency even in town with 1000 other players. Give it a try, it's free. You may be surprised like I was.

This is an IOS game ported to the PC. With that said, it doesn't mean it HAS to ****. It just happens to. It's a space game with no multiplayer, no trade, no mining, and just a linear story. You can't customize much beyond your ship either. C'mon, you own a PC. There are so many great space games out there like Elite Dangerous, EvE, or even the older (but still great) Sins of a Solar Empire. All of them offer something different and they all will drag you in far more than this port of an IOS game.

Full Mojo Rampage4

I found this in the rogue-like section of Steam. After reading up on it and watching videos it really didn't seem like a rogue-like. I figured it would probably be similar to torchlight (which I really enjoyed) so I purchased it anyway. The levels are random but very generic at times. The randomized dungeon levels are probably the best as they have various traps and obstacles. You can't backtrack through levels, so if there's a shop or a synthesizing room in a previous level that would benefit you after you find some items in a later level, you won't get to use it. You can equip various "mojo" items as stat boosters and they also have other interesting effects such as they reveal the map or causes double damage when a mob is below a certain % HP, but the variety doesn't anywhere near as nice as torchlight or the majority of rogues. The only weapons you can get are wands which decay over time (typically last only for a handful of mobs unless you're using the upgraded pin [will get to that in a bit.]) The game's camera angle is the worst part about it. Mobs don't spawn until you're a short distance from them, causing them to pop up on you randomly. Several times I've been walking along only to have a bomb mob (explodes on contact) spawn directly in my path and there's little I can do to avoid it. Also, ranged mobs will often spawn just outside of the camera to the bottom (since the camera is slightly angled) and lead to cheap deaths. You also are unable to rotate the camera. The game is somewhat difficult at first, you'll have to essentially farm the first few levels a few times to earn enough medals to purchase a new playable character. You'll also have to farm to get the pins (which supposedly add only a minor buff, but for instance the health buff is something like a 20%+ boost at low levels.) Once you farm enough, everything is kind of redundant and left me feeling bored easily. There are no cool armor items, or weapons. The items you equip do not show up on your character. The items you do find really determine how successful a run will be, but isn't implemented as good as other games and I often felt discouraged after the third or so level because the random number generator wasn't in my favor. The LAN coop is also broken at the time of this writing, which is a shame. Overall, the game is just ok. It's definitely not great by any means, but not absolutely horrid. The camera angle is keeping me from playing it further (currently have 4.5 hours in the game.) I feel the might have been too hasty on releasing this as a 1.0 game.

The narration really seals the deal on this game. I was surprised at a lot of the endings. Caught myself smiling quite a few times at the twists and turns your character experiences. I really don't want to go into detail about it, my suggestion to you, if you're reading these reviews trying to decide if you should get it is: close this page, don't read another word more about it, buy it and load it up. It's not very long at all, but it's exceptionally well done. If you like adventure games and stuff that sits outside of the norm, then enjoy

I've played just about all survival-horror games, and I was really looking forward to this one being kind of like Fatal Frame. I quickly learned it wasn't like that at all. It sets the atmosphere very well, but if you're observant you will know what's coming. Example: Zero places to hide for many rooms, the instant you get to the room with a switch, there's a locker you can hide in. Flip switch, hide in locker, wait for monster to patrol. Apparently I missed out on a great deal of the jump scares by doing this, but when it's set up so obvious, I couldn't avoid doing it. Another example of this is how there will be a couple of obstacles you have to jump over while going down a long hallway. 90% of the time, you're about to get chased and have to jump over those boxes again. Then I learned you can just agro the mobs and kite them around until you find where you need to go, then circle around and close a few doors and you're home free. I experienced some bugs as well, most were minor, but one major in the theater room. The scripted even when you get the key wouldn't trigger and I was left having to quit and load up the save (meaning I had to do the entire theater over again.) Had to do this twice before it finally triggered and I was allowed to continue. It was also pretty easy to get immersed (suggest wearing headphones and turning off the lights.) Even when I'd get really into it, the game would break this immersion with the ridiculously short battery life, where I'd have to stop and change the battery. It left me feeling annoyed at times, and seemed fairly trivial considering I never had less than 5 batteries in my inventory at a time, even when I was burning through them in the dark areas. The ending seems to be mixed with most players, it left me wanting more to be honest. I didn't use any walkthroughs (I did google the theater bit when it bugged out though.) I played on normal difficulty, 3 hours 25 minute play time. Overall, I'm glad I purchased (on sale) and played it. Was a decent game, wouldn't say it's amazing or great but a worthwhile experience nonetheless.

This game was very interesting. I loved the atmosphere's and how the game played out. You'll find yourself backtracking some, but not enough to be a nuisance. The worst part of the game is the combat. It's very clunky and I found myself raging for quite a bit until I learned certain tricks for certain mobs (no spoilers here.) I picked up all three games in a steam sale some time ago and have just recently played them. I'm very glad I did. I actually read each piece of lore/journal/note that I found and became engrossed in the story. If you're looking for an adventure game, then try this one out, the controls take some getting used to, but once you do you'll find their very intuitive and clever.

This was the last game I preordered. First off, the single player is pretty mediocre and felt rushed to me. They feel more like elongated tutorials set up to make you feel comfortable with each race. Once completed (on each race) I did not feel a sense of accomplishment or satisfaction with the endings. The saving grace is certainly the multiplayer. I got this on release day, and the number of servers were very low, it took quite some time to find a server, but things have changed since then as the price has gone down and more people pick it up. If you enjoy multiplayer fps games, and are tired of the generic cod or battlefiend shooter, then give it a try

Omerta: City of Gangsters4

The user reviews on the front page are pretty accurate. The game WOULD be fun, but there's just not enough content. It's set up basically as challenge missions. Once you pay a deputy off at the start of the mission, you can go crazy robbing everything in the zone, when an investigation opens up on you, just ask the deputy for a favor and it magically goes away. I was really looking forward to this game because there were a few games similar to it released way back. If you want to enjoy this game, then I suggest checking out Gangsters (released way back in '98 though, but it's still better than this.
