Spiritfarer7
Jan 30, 2021
While it does a lot of things right (most notably the art), the story in Spiritfarer is just so soul destroying (ironic) that I grew to dislike it. Contrary to what the game might like to tell you, the real story of Spiritfarer is: "you are an errand girl". That sums up every character arc in the game. You find the character, sometimes pass a trial for them to deign to board your ship, then you satisfy their every demand, which they have a considerable amount of: feed me, build me a house, furnish my house, fulfill my life's calling for me, etc.. The earlier characters are at least friendly and thankful while you help them, but two of the later ones will just mock how much of a **** you are while bossing you around (and I don't care that they probably have redemption arcs, I just want to kick them off my ship, preferrably in the middle of the ocean). Then after you've completed their story you send them on their way to the underworld. Which honestly is a pretty emotional affair, I have to admit I was sad for some time after the first character left (the next few were significantly less impactful), but that's not really due to the writing or the story; the art is pulling ALL the punches here. And what a beautiful game this is. The drawn art is fine, nothing spectacular, but the particle effects certainly are. When the first eclipse occurred my jaw dropped. The game also doesn't sufficiently tell you what you need to do. At first this is a good thing, it's fun to learn new things without being hand held, but at some point you will need certain resources in order to progress. This happened to me twice already: turns out that resource only appears at one location on the entire map, you just have to find it yourself, and until you do you cannot progress further in the story. This also breaks the pacing of the story; I had a favorite character, until his next request is an item that's so far from reach that for hours he only had lines asking for that item (including reminding me of his need whenever I pass by) and I ended up hating that character. The more I write, the more I feel like dropping this down to a 6 or even 5. But in the end I decided not to. Any game that can make me play 5 hours in one sitting has done something right, and for Spiritfarer, those are the visuals, the unique setting, and the progression of upgrading the ship.

Cyberpunk 20776
Dec 14, 2020
I have never seen a game with higher highs and lower lows. The world of CP2077 is genuinely incredible, both from a technical and design perspective. Night City feels like a real place rather than a playground with building-shaped props. The lighting is mesmorizing. Among games that attempt photorealism, this is one of the best looking games ever made. I haven't found the writing to be on the same caliber as the Witcher's, but it's by no means bad. This is also the first CDP game to actually have good combat. The shooting feels just as good as most FPS's. Unfortunately, there's where the praise ends. You should know by now how buggy this game is. If not just check r/gamephysics or r/cyberpunkgame, it's everywhere up there. It even has its own bug subreddit, r/cyberpunkgamebugs. Many of the bugs are merely visual, but some affect the gameplay -- there is a bug where an enemy becomes friendly (sometimes this happens to every enemy in a location, and you just stroll through enemy territory); one where the enemy model doesn't draw behind cover so a floating gun shoots at you; one where the detection meter continues to increase even after you went back to hiding; one where the crosshair continues to show in ADS; police spawning right in front of you; there are so many more. These bugs also happen with extreme frequency. But knowing CDPR, I would expect them to keep working on the game and eventually fix most if not all of the bugs. Nevertheless, the polish on this game ATM is rougher than sandpaper. There are also lots of things that aren't bugs but just bad designs. The NPCs have extremely simple AIs, they don't react to getting bumped into, drawing a gun in front of them, monkeying around them, and there are videos of NPCs with synchronized panic animations after something blows up. The police stops pursuing you after losing sight for maybe 15 seconds, or immediately if you talk to a vendor. This is especially immersion braking if you become wanted in the story; at one point V basically commits terroism, and after fleeing the scene for 15 seconds the in-game police no longer cared, and after hiding for one night they just come back to the city like nothing had happened. Prior to the Dec 11 patch, my performance was unsatisfactory. my PC is a midrange i7-4790 / GTX1070ti, and I was getting around 35FPS on low-medium setting. The patch has done a good job in improving my performance, boosting the framerate by 10-20. I feel like the visuals were compromised a bit, but I'll sacrifice visual for a playable framerate any day of the week.

Haven8
Dec 9, 2020
Haven is a character-focused game. Whether you like the game or not will almost completely depend on whether you like the protagonists. This game goes for a natural, unscripted style for the writings of the conversations, which means you can either love them for how realistic they sound, or hate them for how cringe they make you feel, and for me I found the former to be true far more frequently than the latter. Yu and Kay are the most realistic pair of couples that I can remember in a video game, they have consistent personality traits, they have good chemistry, they have running jokes between themselves, etc. The amount of contextual dialogues and their trigger conditions are also impressive -- once I was controlling the girl and the guy happen to follow behind her and she commented on if he was getting a good view. There are also a lot of mundane scenes about the characters' daily lives that don't serve any plot purpose which I somehow found interesting. One thing I disliked about the dialogue is that there are a lot of dialogues about fictional science or technology. It would be another thing if they discussed real science, but fake science discussion is completely non-engaging and make me roll my eyes more than anything else. The combat is a mixed bag. It's a turn-based system where both you and the enemy take turns at the same time (which reminds me of Final Fantasy 13 of all things). There are 3 actions you can take: melee attack, ranged attack, and shield. The enemies can be resistant or vulnerable to some of these attacks, and some enemies require timing. There is some strategy to it, but I think it simply isn't fun. The characters will also speak after every action, and since you make roughly 1 move per second per character and there are 2 characters, you will hear around 2 quips per second for the entirety of the duration of combat. The majority of the time in game will be spent traversing. Most of the time the movement mechanics is a glorified auto-run, and there is no jump button at all making it pretty frustrating for vertical traversal as any tiny ledge stops you. Instead there are set locations where you can take flight along a given path, and that's how you are supposed to reach high places. Overall it's nothing special but nothing especially offensive either.

Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin9
Apr 9, 2015
Ds2:SFS is visually impressive because it has improved texture quality as well as runs at 60fps. The developers also changed a lot of enemy placements and added a few new items and NPC so its not quite a carbon copy of the first game. It is harder than the original. Pick it up if you missed the original release, and if you are a fan of the franchise and has finished Bloodborne, it might still be worth playing.

Evolve multiplayer is Extremely fun and unique if you have a team who know how to play. The hunter-hunted game is very intense and it is not quite like any other games. It is, however, true that this game is severely overpriced, with no campaign, only 15 playable characters (12 humans, 3 monsters) and not a lot of maps. I recommend picking this up after price drops - this game is really fun.

Life is Strange: Episode 1 - Chrysalis9
Feb 5, 2015
What makes Life is Strange superior to other "interactive movie" games is that its affordable. Now instead of paying $60 for something you have no clue on whether you will enjoy or not, you only pay $5 for each episode. While this comes at the cost of the game being not much of a looker, there really is not much reason to not try something new - given you like the story. Try out the demo if you haven't already, and decide for yourself whether this is worth your 5 bucks.

I'd like to point out that Call of Duty is a shooter, and that's what you will get from this game. New things about this game are namely exo suit (there are different types of suits, some allowing double jump, some allowing cloak, etc), "new weapon" (they still shoot bullets after all) and futuristic theme (2054 vs 2024 of black ops 2), but three things are quite a lot. You can dislike it, you can deny it, but you can't ignore it. What score this game gets won't change anybody's mind: ppl who will buy it, will; ppl who hate the franchise, won't. And I'm happy with my purchase so far. Also: zombie mode becomes a dlc this time around. Typical Activision...

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel7
Oct 14, 2014
Borderlands the Pre-sequel is in a weird spot: veteran borderlands player who like borderlands for all the crazy guns (ie all borderlands fans) are not appealed because it reuses legendaries from the last game. New players would not need to buy it because them can pay less to get more from bl2 goty. It's sort of like Destiny: Like it or hate it. Except this game has content. pros: 4 very interesting classes as you probably already know; Good-ol' shoot and loot. (did i spell that right?); Its Jack! this time he Is the good guy and you will get to know more about him! (for new players, you will get many interesting characters); Player characters finally got dialogues with NPCs; ps: metacritic wouldnt let me use a list. sorry! con: This game reuses gears from bl2. idk if there is new legendary or unique gears for weapon classes other than laser, but this is definitely upsetting as it robs old player of the novelty, the best part about getting awesome loots. maybe except killing stuff with them. Graphics is not improved. at all. or maybe its the console port. Texture sometimes takes time to pop in, and I have experienced mysterious frame rate drop once. Hopefully will be fixed soon. Low gravity can be a pain, as the game deliberately ask you to do parkour (or really double jump) by putting mission trigger points at high places. But the double jump mechanic is bad. The boost is slow and you cant reach very high (2 times the height of jumping once at best) and gets old really quickly. It takes a bit of getting used to to reach higher platform, and also make you unclear whether some terrain is reachable or not. Other things you should know: the entire game is actually a story told by Athena to Lilith, meaning she, Brick and Mordecai will sometimes commentate on the situation, much like Tiny Tina dlc in bl2. Some ignorance on basic physics, eg everyone hang around in vacuum with arms and legs exposed. But borderlands isnt a game about making sense anyway. Because... reasons!

Dust: An Elysian Tail7
Oct 12, 2014
A solid game with fun combat, some customization and a very interesting character fidget, whose personality is interesting indeed but doesnt do much in actual gameplay. In Dust it is very easy to chain long combos and parry, which is good in that it is easy to learn and your character feels agile, and getting 3-figure combo counts can really never get old. That said, Dust is a rather easy game, as you attack non-stop and kills ordinary creeps in 2 hits. While enemies do inflict significant dmg to you as well, their attacks are not nearly frequent enough and can be easily interrupted or parried. There is also a lack of moves (only 6 in total and I dont see a locked move list). Since its free with ps+ I do suggest everyone with a subscription to try it out. Even just for fidget.

Destiny5
Sep 11, 2014
Destiny disappointed a lot of ppl. What we get isnt a unique, epic, totally awesome (ok this one is kinda true) goty with a huge world to explore, but a sci-fi shooter/rpg that sort of blends into the sea of fps-es. I'll start with the cons since thats prolly what you guys care about more. cons: no story - its worse than borderlands! at least borderlands has a continuous story with plenty of characters (not to mention how awesome they are); in destiny there is only you and your ghost who tells you to first go here then go there then go there for no apparent reason (aside from "to kill aliens"). repetition ftw - not only is the objectives in the game limited to go to a specific location, defend the ghost while it scans and kill a boss, the missions' location are also re-used! You would be asked to go to a place, kill everyone inside and completes the mission, only to come back again later and do everything all over again! weak weapon variety - there are a few weapon classes, but weapons within the same class has little variations. They are practically the same weapon if not for rare weapons' special effects (which are not game-changing). They even share the same firing sound and reload animation! Hopefully this is just because I havent progressed far enough in the game (lv14 now) weak player leveling - you dont choose what you get for leveling up; you get a predestined upgrade but need to manually activate it (by pressing x). They probably did it on purpose to suit the game's title. One class has a total of FOUR active skills! One of which is glide (alas, its not wingsuit from farcry 3. its just an invisible propeller) which is really a passive skill. After that you only get upgrades for existing skills. It is not remotely comparable to borderlands. not a lot of enemy variety - honestly a problem for every video game. Always online - Destiny has no pause button even when you play alone. I have also experienced disconnections (a total of 6 dc's in 2 days, tho I played a lot). pro: gorgeous graphics (not sure whether to thank bungie or sony); nice voice over and music; overall better-than-last-gen enemy AI; a clean interface means the game is easy to learn; fun pvp with players and spells flying everywhere in a huge map - but there can only be 12 players in a game; awesome loading screen animations, plus u can access customization while the game is loading. In its current state Destiny is by no means a must-buy. Ask yourself if you really want it before buying.

Pros: simple yet beautiful graphics; extremely well done sound tracks (emphasis on "extremely"); well-crafted characters that you will care about; innovative gameplay mechanics, namely firefly and interruption; well-written dialogue lines; low price (gotta list this out). - Cons: cliche story;"puzzles" in the game require zero effort to solve (hence the quotation marks). - about the difficulty of this game: at normal difficulty Child of Light is quite easy, you can almost avoid taking dmg completely as you will keep interrupting enemies from completing their attacks, I completed the whole story without breaking a sweat; on hard however the role between player and played suddenly changes, enemies are much faster and interruption have little effect on them, hence making them the ones to interrupt and outplay you. When fighting regular foes feel like boss fights, you know a game is hard. - Overall Child of Light undoubtedly proves itself worthy of every gamers time and $15. Go ahead and pick it up.

Transistor is unique in many ways, most notably the customization: abilities are not designed to be active or passive or perks, but all of them. You can put any skill into an active slot to make it an active skill, passive slot to make it passive, or use it to upgrade another skill. The effects vary depending on the skill, for example a dash will become damaging if you upgrade it with an attack move. These are not permanent and can be changed at any point, resulting in the combat being never dull with you keep trying new things. Transistor also has an interesting story with great narration, immersive atmosphere and good character design, the details of which I will not spoil. The only thing that keeps Transistor back is the length of game, but it is definitely worth the purchase price of $20.

Dark Souls II9
May 29, 2014
You probably already know how notorious this franchise is for being hard. True, Dark Souls is not very enjoyable to ppl who can only handle cakewalk or even moderate difficulty. Bosses will most likely kill you in 1 to 3 hits depending on how tanky you are (and no that doesnt mean they only hit once each attack. take a full combo and you are dead), and lesser foes are also able to take off significant proportions of your health with their attacks. If you cannot utilize invincibility frames that comes with your dodge, Dark Souls 2 will most likely be punishing to you. But it is for the same reason that Dark Souls 2 gives so much sense of accomplishment when you do overcome the difficulty. Dark Souls 2 introduces a comprehensive customization system. Not only can you equip each piece of armor and weapon (left and right hand) separately, but there is actually a reason for ppl to try different setup rather than taking the biggest swords: heavy equipments make you slow moving and your stamina regen slower, and vice versa. There is a whopping amount of weapon types in the game, all of which are versatile depending on what play style you use. Dark Souls 2 also introduces the ability to respec skill points, which makes it possible to try out every weapon and play style. Dark Souls 2 is made to last. A single playthrough will easily take 100 to 150 hours depending how good you are at the game and how much farming you do, and because the gameplay is solid and can vary greatly with the use of different setups, there is actually reason to replay the campaign again in NG+ and I do recommend you do so should you go that far. Online play is integrated into the game, as you can find soapstones in the world other players have put down that you can interact with to summon them to fight with or against you. The world of Dark Souls 2 is frankly... quite dark and sufficiently interesting. The kingdom of Drangleic loses all its glory and tranquility as the undead curse falls upon this land. Map designs are pretty good, and the world feels alive. A few things Dark Souls 2 doesnt do so well in are its plot (it doesnt have much) and the mediocre character models and graphics. Other than that Dark Souls 2 is an absolutely amazing game every hardcore gamer must play.

No need for generic introduction; its GTA and that's all you need to know about what kind of game this is! All the sandbox elements are still there, only better: more vehicles, a tonne of customization, more activities, etc, etc. What I want to focus on in this review, however, is the single player of GTA5. Sure you can forget about campaign and only play online, which is a ton of fun if you got friends to play with you (I'm not saying you have to play with a friend though), but the campaign of this game... is incredible. It seemed normal that few people would ever beat the gta campaign (not me), but this convention might end with GTA5. Here you got so much content; its like Skyrim, where unlike other rpgs its all about multiple story lines. They are all interesting too; I will be honest I haven't progressed too much in the campaign because I was playing online, but in the first few missions I already had a lot of fun, the game becoming exciting or gripping or funny when it needs be, unlike older GTA titles where the awesome missions only appear after you are well progressed through the game. Characters in GTA5 are vibrant and alive. They might not make you really care about them as if they were your best friends, but they are definitely likable. Also like Skyrim you will be kind of "integrated" with the game as you will very likely be playing non-stop. Los Santos really is a place you can live in. GTA5 is a dam good game with its single player alone--since it also offers a multiplayer that is just as big and as deep, GTA5 really is one of the few games that you must play.

Mass Effect 39
Feb 12, 2014
why so many haters wtf? I know I cant talk any sense into those morons who give this game a 0 just because of the ending but ARE YOU FAKING KIDDING ME? HOW CAN 10 MINUTES IN A 30 HOUR GAME LIKE MASS EFFECT 3 LOWER ITS RATING FROM 9/10 TO 4/10 OR EVEN LOWER? WTF? Feel free to thumb down but get this shame on u all who claim urselves as "fans" but are infact nothing but ragers. Mass Effect 3 is an RPG with the gameplay of an action game. The new combat system is so much fun to play. In ME2 combat becomes a lot less interesting if u choose classes like sentinel that can only use 2 of the 6 weapon types; abilities are also less powerful so soldier is definitely a go-to class. In Mass Effect 3 however not only did EA double the number of weapons from 29 in me2 to 72, the new combo system is also very fun (hitting the same enemy with 2 specific abilities in succession will lead to an explosion dealing tons of dmg). As an RPG ME3 did hell **** job in making combat fun. ME3 takes place after ME2. The reaper has invaded and shepard must again travel around the galaxy to save humanity and other species as well this time. You will meet new friends as well as old, fight the powerful invaders that want nothing but extinction of all sentient species. (Trust me those are not just promotion this game really is that exciting) But in some other aspects, Mass Effect 3 takes a step back. The errand missions (which are the majority of side missions in this game) are boring and does not make any sense, the planet scanning system is removed, and of course the ending. It is seriously pretty disgusting, I must admit, but it is only because it is supposed to be awesome, for Mass Effect 3 is such an anticipated and massive game. It is still better than many, and I must give credit to bioware who tried their best to fix the ending once they realized its problem. At this point whoever that is here either has already played ME3 or is not interested and will probably never play ME. So if you are also a rager go ahead, write a 0/10 review. It just doesn't matter any more. BTW thanks for reading to the end.

Metro: Last Light8
Feb 10, 2014
Metro: Last Light (MLL) is a shooter that delivers both satisfying gameplay and realistic, virbrant environment. After a nuclear warfare that completely destroyed Moscow, mankind now dwells underground as the surface is completely inhabitable. To make things worse animals have mutated into monsters due to the nuclear radiation. That is why in this world civilization made the Moscow metro system their home, stations now cities, but beyond that tunnels are still occupied by monsters. What is impressive is that Deep Silver managed to make the surface of Moscow even scarier than the dark underground. Up there, gas mask is a must and debris and corpses of the old Moscow are everywhere. The world of Metro is simply realistic, fascinating and easily the best part of the game. Levels are somewhat linear, but that is not a problem since they are so realistic and carefully designed: just walking in them is a thrill. Different parts of the level, however, are awkwardly connected together. You jump onto ledges instead of climbing onto them; after you fall into water instead of start swimming you will first struggle for a few seconds then automatically teleport to the nearest ground--even if they are a few meters from you. MLL is a solid shooter. You can feel the weight and precision of your weapon, which is well designed and can be customized to your needs. Just everything you expect in a fps. As is many other post-apocalyptic games nowadays, in MLL survivors are divided into factions that compete with each other for the scarce supply of necessities. You will often run into soldiers of opposing factions, which is when stealth comes into play. Whereas it is satisfying to hide in the shadow of the underground, stealth in MLL is very easy. You have a gadget that conveniently shows if you are in the light (that is, if you are in the brightest of light; you are still considered hidden if the light is not strong enough), and when it indicates you are hidden, human enemies will never see you. And I mean it. You can crouch and walk right into their face and you can bet if they will spot you. (hint: they won't.) You also don't need to do it slowly as you never make any sound. Indeed, not even when people are talking to you. (the protagonist never speaks in the campaign) The first half of MLL is by far the better half. This is when you mainly sneak around the tunnels struggling to survive everything there are. In the second half, however, Deep Silver somehow decided that they want to change MLL into a fantasy game. I won't spoil anything important, but you will be given super powers such as seeing through walls and mind reading. Why? While they didn't completely screw it up and at some points I even found myself liking this setting, I'd still prefer it if they kept MLL a pure apocalypse game. MLL is a fairly easy game. Although I am on the highest difficulty of hardcore, I hardly need to use any item, which is very, very abundant in the levels. Since around 4 hours into the game I had been fully stocked on everything and never used more than tenth of my money. It will take around 7 hits for enemies to kill you in this highest difficulty, but thankfully human enemies in MLL are pretty good shots and your health regeneration is very slow which evens this up. Even with all these issues, MLL is still an overall good game. If you are interested in fascinating worlds of post apocalypse worlds or post-apocalyptic genre in general, MLL is definitely a game to go for. Disclaimer: I have noticed that this review is bugged and might appear multiple times in the same list with different ratings in certain occasions. If that is that case please overlook any other version of this review; my rating for Metro is 8.

Diablo III7
Jan 30, 2014
D3 has the potential to be an excellent game, but multiple issues have made it a mediocre hack-and-slash. On the good side, D3 on console fixed many issues on PC, mostly on better control: in PC version it is difficult to use ranged classes because complicated skills make kiting very difficult for new comers. D3 has good graphics and is very meticulously designed: debris and corpses on the ground are blown away when powerful spells are used, objects in the environment can be destroyed and both inside and outside of the map is crafted with details. Although skills dont diverse very well, combat in D3 is overall satisfying. D3 is about sacrifice. The world of sanctuary was a peaceful place, until the demons came for the annihilation of mankind. In prolonged war lives are lost, and nations shatter from within. D3 shows all these in an explicit manner, and u will sigh as u see what kind of sufferance mankind is going through. As a result u really are made to hate those demons; u will want to slaughter every one of them who dare setting foot on ur land, and u will. Dialogues and characters are fairly well designed and u will find urself caring about the world of sanctuary and the people around u. But there are a lot of issues as well. First of all get this: D3 is a 10 hour game (15 max) and each part (act) is detached meaning u cant visit locations in the previous act after u have finished it, unless by replaying previous quests in the main menu. that is just lazy on bllizaard's side since this is a game that is played and replayed over and over again and we need more than just running through the same story over and over again. Side missions are nearly non existent: there are maybe 10 side quests in the whole game, all of them hidden somewhere in some map ull probably never get to. Skills in D3 are badly designed and are sometimes outright ridiculous. As ur level progresses u dont unlock more powerful spells. Seriously many spells that are unlocked in later levels are garbage, such as consuming all ur resource in a not-so-powerful attack that deals maybe 5% more dmg than a basic spell that costs nothing. Skills can be augmented with runes, but many of them are just useless. (eg increases duration from 6 to 7) Also in my case, the co-op doesnt **** work! I turned my IP address to static and forward some 5 ports to fix it but before that its just infinite loading screen for me. Since its a hack-and-slash u will be looting a lot but its all for nothing: u dont get special effects from good gears like in borderlands or monster hunter (not useful ones anyway) but they just has the potential to have better stats than less rare gears--by that I mean non-legendaries are often more powerful than legendaries. (I got more excitement from getting good gears in bioshock infinite than i did in this game) Also since u can only travel within ur act and there is no side quests why would anyone want to jump into the looting grinder at all? Infact, I'll stop right now! Just gimme a sec with this key warden...

The Last of Us10
Jan 30, 2014
Naughty Dog proved itself again as the best game studio. Its production, the Last of Us inherits the studio's specialties: solid gameplay, satisfying platformer, interesting dialogues and most importantly, amazing characters. The protagonists, Joel and Ellie, are easily among the best written characters in all video games and you will, after playing this game, feel attached with them and genuinely care about them. I don't know if it is possible to not like Joel and Ellie but I am in love with them. Set in the post-apocalyptic US, Joel and Ellie must journey across the country in search ****. In this world an unknown pandemic has ravaged mankind, transforming infected into half-human-half-fungus undead. What sets the Last of Us different from all other zombie games is that the infected here are also blind and therefore by moving quietly it is possible to avoid conflict at all. Ammo and healing supplies are limited (there is no stomping corpses to reveal supplies here), so stealth is always the better option. When combat is the only way to go, the Last of Us becomes a solid third person shooter almost identical to the Uncharted series. The world in the Last of Us is vibrant and believable. As is all post-apocalyptic worlds, the world goes into chaos and survival is dependent on oneself: only the fittest survives. There is no hero or antagonist in the Last of Us; only survivors. In fact, Joel is so ruthless against other survivors standing in his way that you might feel that he is, in a sense, the villain. However no game is perfect--not even the Last of Us. Supplies for tools feel a little bit too plentiful. For example nail bombs should have been valuable weapons that are only used in the most desperate times, but they are in fact so common in the world that I found my backpack too full to carry yet even more of them. In the same sense weapons are also too powerful for a game like this: your arsenal isn't limited at all; you will get a freaking flame thrower half way into the story. Also the ending is somewhat disappointing; I won't spoil anything for you, but I was disappointed. BUT--- with this ending it is possible for them to make a sequel. :DD As the Last of Us is so successful this is very likely to be the case--I cannot wait to see more of Joel and Ellie's journey.

Killzone 37
Jan 29, 2014
It is apparent that the developer of Killzone puts realism ahead of everything in their game. But realism does not make good games; whereas Killzone 3 is visually impressive and of course, quite realistic, it is mediocre as a fps. Enemies in Killzone are pretty tanky: it takes around 10 body shoots to kill. It might make sense because of the armor enemies are wearing, but it makes shooting sloppy, as you don't have a sense that you shots are hitting. Covers continue to be useless as is in all Killzone games: enemies hit you with pinpoint accuracy despite you being in cover. Although you could do the same thing to enemies hiding behind cover but what's the point of making a cover system if it does not work? I feel like the weapons in Killzone isn't realistic; although its the 24th century and battle cruisers warp around the galaxy, soldiers are still using physical bullet rifles with red dot sights or just iron sights. Cmon we need futuristic guns! Especially when the environment is so futuristic and amazing! Even with these issues however Killzone 3 still gets a 7 with its vibrant world, awesome graphics and alright level design.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance7
Jan 29, 2014
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is an exceptional action game. As you probably already know you literally cut through everything in the game. Cutting enemy soldiers into halves not enough? How about slicing entire helicopters and mechs into shreds? In Metal Gear Rising you will be doing that a lot. Yes its not realistic but who cares? Just enjoy being an overpowered cyborg ninja whereas listen to the game's awesome music. This is probably the most solid action game I have ever played, simple yet precise and very satisfying. Truth to be told there isn't much story in this game: just stopping the bad guys who try to bring the world to the chaos of war. Characters in Metal Gear Solid does not appear in the game but it is solely about Raiden this time, who fights against leaders of the organization Desperado. Speaking of which, boss fights are easily the best parts in Metal Gear Rising. Each boss is unique and powerful, and you will not win just by mashing attack button in this game. They all require special tactics to defeat, which is not easy to pull out but very satisfying when you do. The downfall of Metal Gear Rising, however, is that it is so short. Its only 6 hours! If not this game would have been a 9 out of 10. If you are an action game player you definitely want to check this game out. Its a must buy after its price has dropped.

Ride to Hell: Retribution1

I knew this game is bad but bought it anyway just to see how bad a game can get. Deep Silver did a good job at making this the worst game of all time. I slightly vomited a few times in the first 5 minutes

Call of Duty: Black Ops II6

There is a lot of haters out there and to be honest I am half a hater myself, for how bad the graphics are when compared to games by EA, SCE etc., for how they never have any innovation on anything, but there is no deny that CoD is a pretty solid franchise. It might be repetitive, but it is always functional and definitely playable. bo2 is a mediocre shooter, but it definitely isnt a 0 out of 10. It did earn infinity ward more than it deserves, but cmon we cant expect them to come out and be like "we know our game **** so we are asking our fans to please stop buying them" right? So let's just give them a break and hope CoD gets better in the future.

Tekken Tag Tournament 27

There is no deny that enormous playability exists in this game. The action is precise and combats are epic from start to end. Namco offered more than 50 characters each with unique sets of abilities (only a couple of replica characters), which is even more than it sounds because this game is SOO hard to learn! First of all u will need to remember the moves of ur character and know what his/her strength and weakness is (every character has at least 80 moves most with about 100), but after that ur just getting started. U will need to develop ur own tactics, combo and other stuff it is almost like an RTS only that u only have a split second to make ur decision and execute it which is honestly pretty hard even with the easier characters. Its so hard I stopped playing after a while, which is a shame. If ur a big fan of the fighting genre ur gonna love this game but otherwise it will be less appealing

Dead Space 38
Dec 26, 2013
First of all I must admit as a Dead Space game this isn't as good as Dead Space 2. In Dead Space 2 there are many times where the game will scare the crap out of you. I remember in one session I was re-investigating the hangar where the Ishimura is docked but there is no light on. I was so scared that I had to grab a light in the environment and move on with it. Not only are scary stuff all over the place the enemy AI was exceptional too. In dead space 3 however, the game is much less thrilling. I'm not saying its not scary at all, but far less so than its prequel. Enemy AI can be frustratingly bad at times: I have seen necromorphs running toward a wall while its already at it and ramming its head on the wall that it seems to think is me. But the game is fully functional most of the time; in my playthru the said experience only happened once. But let's look at the bright side: Dead Space 3 contains much more action elements than Dead Space 2 just like how they were improved in Mass Effect 3. Mini games are a welcome addition, but the biggest improvement in Dead Space 3 has to be the weapon crafting system. With two tools and accessories there are infinite possible combinations for ur weapon, the only thing u can rely on in this dark universe. From regular assault rifle to chain lightning generator that slows enemy on impact, there are so many guns for u to explore! I must be honest: I had more fun with the variety of guns in Dead Space 3 then I did in Borderlands 2, which I played 500+ hours on Steam. Dead Space 3 is a third person shooter instead of a survival horror game. Enemies spawn in much larger hordes, forcing u to build better weapons to deal with them. The Dead Space trademark dissembling system does exist, but dissembling becomes less effective since the enemy number has gone up exponentially and the weapons more powerful. U will be disappointed if u were looking for a horror game, but if ur an action fan, Dead Space 3 is definitely the game to go for with its immersive universe, badass arsenal and an interesting enough story.

Gravity Rush9
Sep 17, 2012
Undeniably, Gravity Rush is a great excuse for many people to buy PS Vita in instance (including me ), and it is a game with both great creativity and playability (whatever). It`s graphic quality is just of mid-stream among Vita games, but this do not disturb it becoming a great game though the pattern of attacking enemies` core is a bit fusty after long term of playing. SCE has brought the main characters with life with the comic-style story illustration, although the end was, I have to say, VERY abrupt. I never expected the defeat of that vulnerable-looking big ball indicates the end of the game! How about the mayor? How about the children and the ark? How about Kat`s memory and the truth about Heksville? All right, let`s hope that SCE has saved those for the Gravity Rush 2, which I`m sure to buy without the slightest hesitation.
