really interesting take on the survival genre as you play as just regular citizens caught up in a war. The UI is a little clunky and there are very few tutorials so you have to learn via trial and error. I still enjoyed it a lot and felt like i understood where the characters were coming from with their reactions to what happened.

If you are a fan of Slay the Spire or Dicey Dungeons, you could do worse than Floppy Knights. It's got an interesting gameplay and so far it seems fairly deep in terms of different deck builds and scenarios. it doesn't feel as polished as the other games i mentioned but its pretty close. Main things detracting from the score are the very skippable story (way too much dialog), general slowness of the game, poor optimization for xbox that causes some slowdowns and the deck builds are a little too random. The randomness issue is due to a couple of design decisions that i think mostly work but sometimes make the game frustrating. For instance, you might not be able to spawn a unit on your first turn or you get stuck on a turn with all attack cards but no way to move. This is a rare occurrence though and mostly the game is fun in that way of "figuring out" an optimized way to use all your cards and get out of jams. overall, a must play for strategy fans on gamepass

Excellent game. Story is great but the highlight is the unique tower climbing platformer mechanic. So fun and satisfying once you really get the hang of it. One of the most under the radar games out there.

Like other reviewers, this was not something i was expecting to enjoy but it kind of **** you in with the simple gameplay and some nostalgia about how moves are kind of a big part of your life. I'd recommend it to almost anyone for a bit of downtime fun.

Solid roguelike that has kept my interest for a while. I'm knocking a few points for some buggy situations with the controller but it's still a great game. PROS - love the more standard roguelike mechanics but the additions of Blinks and various types of weapons make it pretty fun to try out different combat types - campaigns have different chapters and are fairly long which breaks the monotony of the standard "run" in most roguelikes - weapon type variation is pretty cool. i have mostly preferred ranged but had a good time with a few melee builds as well CONS - Story makes no sense at all - ranged weapons are tempting because they are significantly easier to build around - many buggy situations with controller sensitivity making it clear it's a PC port. Buttons press twice, extra movements trigger on one stick move, cursor is hard to get onto enemies to preview them, X mapped to blink and interact causes issues with interact disappearing and requiring a move to get it back. mostly harmless but i find myself having to be VERY careful at times in combat.

if you like metroidvanias, this is a pretty note perfect example of the genre. cool upgrades, a great map, challenging enemies and bosses and a great iteration on the first steamworld dig game. I'm hesitant to give a 10 usually but i think this deserves it.

i could see how this game might be better on the PC but I really enjoyed it on the Switch. Great puzzles and very few frustrating points. Usually I feel like i have to look up at least something in a puzzle game but I don't think that happened with Gorogoa. It's been on sale a lot lately too so don't hesitate to pick it up if you are a person who enjoys puzzle games.

Really great story, stealth and turn based battles. Probably the best turn based game on the Switch, at least that I have played. Though the graphics quality doesn't come close to the PC, I would say this is a very solid port and I enjoyed playing it for 20+ hours. It also includes all the PC DLC so you can keep going. I didn't find the first DLC to be that amazing so I dropped off after the main quest but maybe I'll come back again soon. Don't believe the reviews complaining about performance as that must have been solved in an update.

A really fun game once you play like 5 matches to get the hang of the control mappings. The passing and defense buttons were the toughest part to get used to for me. Definitely start on the lowest difficulty. Overall i recommend it if you are looking for a simple soccer game on the Switch. I can only review the single player experience.

Really enjoyed this one on the PC and wanted to give it another go on the Switch. Unfortunately it’s a much more clunky experience here than I remember. I didn’t make it far because i found a few things that made the game frustrating for me - switching characters to disarm traps, etc was a little painful on the PC but a real issue here - the wheel menus have to be used way too often - the game is very dark overall I may update if I get further and get more used to the controls.

At first I wasn't sure about this game. The controls feel a little off for a Zelda game. Once you get used to the combat, it's one of the best Zelda likes I have played. Good bosses and fun levels/puzzles. If you are looking for a Link to the Past style game, then I would say this might scratch that itch. The main difference is that it is very linear but the gameplay is great.

It was fun but there's not much to it in my opinion. Good for a few hours of fun but i don't have any reason to come back and the main draw of the game are the artsy visuals and music that responds to the situation. These are novel ideas and make for a fun few hours.

Really surprised me! This is a great RPG with a classic style story and great battles and progression system. If you enjoy tactical games and like story and complex progression system this is the way to go. has a few control weirdnesses on switch and the icons are a little hard to read. weak points: - some of the battles can go on for a while as enemies will definitely heal - progression system (job system i think?) can be a little cumbersome by mid-game. hard to juggle all the classes since you can multi class. I am working on unlocking everything and it gets tricky to keep track of what I'm going for.

Very solid metroidvania. enemies are distinctive and the game is very challenging up to the end with a few exceptions. I really like the RPG style progression system even if a few stats were hard to understand. Only issues imo: - bosses are insanely easy. I don't think I died a single time on a boss. Even the final one. I died quite a bit navigating the levels but enjoyed that challenge but the bosses are a cakewalk. Mostly the issue is the plethora of single use healing items so I guess you can self handicap if you want. - i don't see the point of the procedural dungeons. A game like this is long enough and you need the items in a somewhat linear order to proceed so can't see why i would want to replay it a lot. It does a good job of creating interesting levels but I think it would be a better game if things were a little more handcrafted. - Items don't differentiate enough to be clear when one is better or worse. It's nice that you can customize to a play style but none of the bosses are hard enough to want to made minor adjustments when you play them.
