I Tried to really like this game but couldnt quite get there. The Graphics are lovely and the combat encounters are fun but this style of game isn't my cup of tea, Aloy as a character never really grabbed me either the story didnt do much for me

Another Good Little nightmares game and this game is dripping in atmosphere, Great creepy music kept me hooked till the end. The levels are not as good as the first game I don't think but they are not bad just not as memorable. Overall tho another good game looking forward to what comes next from these guys

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart6
Jun 30, 2021
Overall im fairly dissapointed with this entry. This is the best looking ratchet and clank game but thats about the only great thing about it. The gameplay is decent, the guns are ok but nothing truly stands out. The levels are all forgettable, the enemies are not varied enough, the bosses are all the same and overused. the music is poor but by far the worst thing abut this is the story. The story is terrible. Ratchet is so bland and uninteresting, a shade of his former self. I like the addition of Rivet but nothing is done with her character, theres no depth and no development. Kit is cringey and so is clank, what has become of these characters.

Resident Evil Village9
May 24, 2021
Man this game is just great. Im not a huge resident evil fan, I have played 7 and the 2nd and 3rd remakes and enjoyed all of them but didn't absaloutely love any of them until this game came out. First off the graphics.. probably the second best game ive ever seen just behind the last of us part 2. The village itself is gorgeous, the character models are extremely detailed. The gameplay is fun and your given time to catch your breath after each combat encounter allowing you to backtrack to check for missed items. Overall this game has made me super eager to check out what capcom will do next love it.

Final Fantasy VII Remake7
Mar 11, 2021
Ive never played the original final fantasy 7 so going in blind, So far i think its pretty good. Some parts i really dig while others im not a massive fan. Firstly the graphics are great for the character models and cutscenes but look a bit ugly when it comes to the world and backdrop. The combat is decent and the materia system is fleshed out. The Story so far is fairly simple but interesting id like to see where it goes. The side quests are meh but overall I had a good time with this game

Not a terrible game, It has some good points but its just so boring, i got about halfway through and decided to drop it , at the start the story was intriguing enough to keep me invested but the further I got the constant exposition dumps and unintersting characters forced me to give the rest a skip, I have no intentions of revisiting this

Ghost of Tsushima7
Oct 27, 2020
Good Enough game. First off the graphics are gorgeous, the world of tsushima is thriving with colour and is just begging to be explored. The exploration is good with interesting side activities to find like the fox dens and the shrines. The combat is weighty and feels fun although gets a little repetitive towards the end as most of the combat styles and upgrades are unlocked early on. The armour sets are cool and styling out jin your own way is great. However my biggest problem and what really holds this game from being a potential 9 or 10/10 is the story and the quests. I'll be straight up I would say maybe 1 or 2 missions in the entire game really grabbed me. The side missions are boring and not engaging but what really **** is that the tales missions and the main story missions are the same. The main villian of the game is bland and uninteresting. The only good thing is the relationship between Jin and Lord Shimura but this is a small part of the overall experience. Overall a fun enough time that needed a better script

Enjoyed Gone Home for what it was but this didnt really hook me as much. The story falls flat and just isnt the most interesting. I liked the idea of seeing how each character reacted to certain situations but this could have been really good with some creativity in terms of certain characters betraying others in a different room and only you the player knowing about it etc. Overall a fairly forgettable experience

The Last of Us Part II8
Jul 12, 2020
This is a tough one, the first half of this game is great, The story takes a risk but I was ok with it and willing to **** with what they were trynna do with abbey and ellie. The Graphics blew me away. There are a good few moments in this game where I just had to stop and stare in wonderment. By far the best looking game ive ever played to date, The gameplay is very similar to the first game but still really enjoyable. Where the game took a downturn for me was when lev and yarra are introduced. They were uninteresting characters and really bogged the story down and made those sections playing as abbey against the scars quite boring. I didnt mind playing as Abbey as much, I felt the worst for owens character, The end of the game was not satisfying, Ellie proceeds to make stupid decision after stupid decision and she honestly ends up almost the villian of the story. Overall tho I still had a blast ( for the most part) playing this especially the earl sections. A lot of heart and love went into this. The story ends up a bit of a mess but its not awful by any means and some early scenes even brought a tear to my eye.

Super Mario Odyssey7
Jun 26, 2020
Thought this was a decent mario game, not the best levels or most memorable, mario controls really well and its fun to pull off moves to zip around the levels, but the level designs are too simple and the over-abundance of moons diminishes the feeling of getting one. I dont really see myself coming back to play this too much but overall i still thought it was a good game, just not a masterpiece

NieR: Automata8
Jun 19, 2020
Nier Automata is a pretty incredible achievement in storytelling. Its deep and makes you really think afterwards. The Gameplay is fun enough although is a little repetitive especially as 9s where the omission of heavy weapons limits your playstyle and once you unlock all the pod abilities as 2b early in her playthrough there isn't anything new as far as I saw anyway maybe I missed them in some sidequests. The soundtrack is 10/10. While the story didnt grip me as hard as others, something with me and machines I find it hard to empathize with them. However its still an amazing story thats never been done like this before and a fun game that I might go back to a few years from now and potentially appreciate even more

Dear Esther5
Jun 8, 2020
I dont mind a good walking simulator but this one is fairly poor. Where other games in this genre like gone home, firewatch etc have good storys i think the biggest difference is the atmosphere and interactivity. Sure not much interactivity but still enough to keep you engaged in their worlds. Dear esther is simply boring with a story thats pretentious and just not interesting. The visuals are nice and still hold up surprisingly but I feel like looking back at it from a 2020 standpoint with a lot better examples now of this type of genre of game done well, Dear esther really falls flat.

This game is so eerie and disturbing, horrifying and also beautiful. This is a masterpiece in platforming and puzzle design that similar to limbo require you to have many lightbulb moments throughout that never come off as cheap or too difficult to require a guide. It strikes a perfect balance similar to portal that anybody can pick it up and experience it. Ive played through it twice and was blown away even more the second time. Playdead are master crafters of disturbing video game worlds that constantly keep you on edge while also providing some of the most unforgettable sequences ive ever played. I need more from this studio.

Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle8
May 28, 2020
I gotta say i am quite surprised with how good this game is. I didnt have much expectations going into it but quickly found myself getting **** in more and more as new mechanics are introduced. The game is simply really fun and can is fairly deep to feel rewarding and also sometimes a bit challenging. The story is forgettable but who cares, I never play a mario game for the story. The only other gripe I would have with it is that the collectibles aren't too rewarding, Concept art and models for me were a waste of time, Collecting music tracks too. I never felt too excited when opening a chest but thats a small gripe as the game is still loads of fun. Would love to see a sequel to this in the future

The game can be gorgeous ill give it that but there isn't much else to it really. Initially Its fun, its intriguing. The voice acting is done well but theres just nothing to it in the end. The ending was a big letdown. Theres hardly any interactivity. Its a walking simulator of course but there are better examples of them. Towards the end youll end up trecking through areas you have already seen so theres nothing interesting to see anymore and as ive previously mentioned the story falls a bit flat.

Played this back in the day and decided to revisit it again. Im writing this review from a 2020 standpoint. Does the game still hold up? yes it does. The art direction is cool, the music is perfect, the story is ok, but mainly this game is all about the gameplay and luckily it still feels great to play although the 2 melee weapons aren't quite satisfying when landing hits on enemies. Overall tho id recommend it. Supergiant are a rare breed of developer, with everything they put out brimming with creativity and what better place to start then bastion.

This game creats such a creepy atmosphere that took my breath away back in 2011. How does it hold up in 2020? Still pretty damn good. There is a minimalist style to the art. The story is ambiguous if you can even call it a story really. But overall this game still holds up. Its quite short but its really polished. Even today you wont see anything quite like this.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze6
Apr 21, 2020
Decent Game. Has some fun mechanics are some of the levels are great. Overall though didnt find myself having too much fun. The rewards for completing challenges like puzzle pieces or the KONG pieces are laughable. Still images that look like an amateur painting. Figurines which are just models of the enemies. Thats another point, There is basically no enemy variety. They are all the same and are very easy to **** bonus stages are all the same with slight variations. Overall not a bad game just didnt have much fun with it.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild8
Apr 21, 2020
Great Game, The World is designed beautifully. There is a real sense of discovery and the divine beats for the most part are a blast to play. The shrines are very hit or miss with honestly a majority of them forgettable. The Shrines that require the gyro controls are a nightmare. Theres a missed opportunity i think here aswell for an amazing story with fleshed out characters but they decided to play it safe with a very basic plot. The combat can get a bit repetitive as there isn't much enemy variety. The sidequest are terrible aswell with no incentive to do any of them as the rewards are never worth it. Not a massive fan of crafting in video games so the cooking mechanic didnt stand out to me. Overall a good game with some flaws.Hopefully the sequel will improve on all aspects of this and we can get a more realised vision of what this game can be

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order6
Apr 17, 2020
This game is a technical mess. It is super glitchy. Constant texture pop in. Some levels were clearly given more love than others. Story is pretty boring. The game can still be fun at times tho. the skills you unlock feel good to use. The collectibles are pretty bad, it doesnt help that changing the colour of your poncho/mantis/bd takes a few second for the texture to load in. Feels like it could do with another years development. Main character is uninteresting and bland. Most of the collectibles found are lightsaber parts but i never found these rewarding as you rarely ever actually see you lightsaber up close. Overall not terrible had a decent time playing it. Im a **** for Souls like games so thats what kept me playing till the end. I doesnt feel like theres much love put into this game, Feels like they focused on some aspects that look great and they showcase these parts but the rest of the game is a mess. Some textures look terrible. Some places feel like im palying an early ps3 game and then when it wants to be it can look amazing. but this is generally at the start of the game and at the end with the rest of the planets given way less polish

Beautiful Game. Loved the artsyle, the music, the animations. I wouldnt recommend it to everyone tho as its hardcore like really really tough, but for people who want a challenge this game delivers. Every attack thrown at you is avoidable and once you get into the games rhythm and learn the kinks its really satisfying.

Game was ok, story was boring and dialogue felt fluffy at times, a lot of your time will be spent reading as is traditional for jrpg games, this is still my least favourite part of any of these games. Sometimes you can go for an hour even longer just listening to and reading dialogue before you can actually start playing the game again. combat is very fun tho so thats what kept me playing, characters are fleshed out but can be fairly one note at times. about a 60 hour game that could have been 20

I am writing this review as the game holds up now, and it thankfully still does if not a bit dated in the modern market, the gameplay is still extremely fun, upgrading your favourite weapons and plasmids is still a blast, the story for me however does not hold up, its fairly shallow, the ending is interesting but the journey is not, still a fantastic experiance that i would recommend anyway to play

Lemme start off by saying, i love what the developers were trying with this game and can really appreciate their effort, i cant say its a bad game but its not necessarily good either, its just a bit in between, with more of a budget and more polish with more animations i think i could give it a 7 but as it stands its more like a ported mobile game or a cheap unity title, for its retail price i cant recommend but i can appreciate the idea and the clear love put into this game so i hope to see more from this small team in the future

First off let me say i fully understand why people love this game, its just not a game for me, I was having fun for the first few hours but quickly got bored, this is maybe a fault with me as i tend to lose interest in these types of open world games very quickly, i dont like being bombarded with many tedious and boring side quests and challenges to tick off, it just doesnt interest me, there can be a few exceptions to these types of open world games and these for me is if the story hooks me enough to stay with it, like the witcher 3, assassins creed 2 etc. unfortunately for me the story wasnt bad just never gripped me, so i found no real compelling reason to stick with it, i was just going from story mission to story mission as i had no interest in any of the side activities but eventually decided to drop it as i was playing it just for the sake of progressing in it. It reminds me of similar games like mad max, far cry basically any game made by ubisoft that have a ridiculous amount of side activities to chip away at but i never found any of these games side activities fun just boring, although i would say they do put a bit more effort into the side activities here then most of these games do, still at the end of the day just not my type of game and thats fine, im sure most people loved their time with the game and i cant fault them for it, if however you are like me and dont find enjoyment from these types of games i dont think this is the one that will change your mind

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice6
Jun 13, 2019
Really tried to like this game but the gameplay just didnt do it for me, initially the game starts out really strong, the atmosphere they build is fantastic with one of the best openings ive ever played in a game, but after the first boss "room" where the gameplay consisted of boring tedious puzzle solving with some good if not basic combat i thought that was a good idea for that room hoping to see more mechanics in the next but unfortunately the rest of the game is filled with these boring puzzles that involve you walking around at a really slow pace looking for glyphs, The story itself was interesting and i did keep with it far enough but i was never really invested in it and later on after yet another door presented me with 3 glyphs to go find i decided to drop it, i imagine i was very close to the end but my heart at that stage was not in it and that door was the tipping point, i can understand why people would like this game if they can overlook or maybe actually enjoy the puzzle solving mechanic but its simply not for me, thhe game isnt bad, im giving it a fair score in my opinion as it has a great concept although the main protagonists performance was fairly shoddy and i never felt anything for her other than annoyance at her ear screeches that consistently made me have to turrn down the volume on my headphones. Combat as i said earlier was fun but very basic, there is no difference in it later on in the game except the variance in enemies and how many get thrown at you at once. Overall not a bad game , good ideas, great atmosphere, boring gameplay

Fun Enough game for what it is, not necessarily scary although it has a few jumpscares, what really makes the meat of the game is the creativeness of the puzzles, it has a lot of good ideas that are really satisfying to figure out, very short, took me about an hour to complete, overall a good enough experience but nothing really stand out

I dont really understand what this game is trying to be, it tries to have horror elements with consistent jumpscares of loud noises or doors opening, vases breaking etc but these never land as you know nothing actually happens its just superficial, the actual gameplay consists of linear paths with every door your not supposed to take being locked, its a walking simulator folks and once you realize that none of the jumpscares land anymore, the puzzles are boring, now even having said that it doesnt necessarly have to be scary if the story can hold up, perfect example **** that holds up like this is the recent devotion but unfortunately that falls flat too, overall just a really boring game

Game was quite fun but I wasnt the intended target audience i think, I overall think this is a good game and if you are into pinball you will probably love this, it has a lot of charm, the music is quite nice and the gameplay is fun for what it is, now ive never been really into pinball so if your a casual like me you might get a bit frustrated with this as you really need to learn to know when to hit the ball at a certain angle to get it where you want to go, ive never really been a fan of this about pinball, i usually just mash the bumpers and hope eventually it goes where i want it to, but if you take your time and learn the mechanics i think you can have a good time with this, i did overall enjoy my time with it but as i said im probably not the best person to listen to as i am not a pinball game fan in the first place, I think the game dev team behind this are talented and id like to see where they go from here, if you like pinball i think your gonna love this, if your not tho like me i dont think this is the game thats gonna change your mind

Good game, well thought out levels with good satisfying puzzles and just enough ammo and resources around each to make you constantly be on the edge of your ammo and health which adds to the experiance, didnt play the original myself so cant comment on nostalgia or improvements, the story is a bit cheesy but it has a charm to it, only gripe is the fact that i was under the assumption that the 2 different campaigns would be in entirely different locations, i decided not to finish claires story as i didnt feel like doing the same puzzles over again which makes up most of the gameplay, graphics are fantastic, you can tell a lot of care went into this, a definite must buy for fans of the original i can only assume, as it was for me was adequately satisfied with the experiance, just a bit dissapointed with the same levels being used in each storyline

Fantastic experiance with really great controls that only from soft would have the balls to let users mess around with, its difficult, like really difficult but by the end of the game you really do feel like youve gotten so much better and can breeze through the earlier levels that took you so long the first time, a lot of people will complain that there is only 1 way you can play the game unlike other souls games, but i think its fine for them to hone you down to this style so that you can only focus on getting good at parrying and knowing your timing windows. In this it succeds. Although i will admit there isnt really much in replay value once youve mastered its controls as it starts to become really easy to fly through the earlier stages. But im fine with a just a one time experiance that was captivating from beginning to end
