A cute short side story to Neko-nin exHeart 1. Again, it needs to be played in the R18+ version. The steam version is quite useless. Good voice actresses, quite funny, and the usual eternal endurance found in H-visual novels and hentai in general. What's special in this series is the fact that the catgirls are not humans with cat ears and tails, but cats with human bodies. Much more so than in the nekopara series.

Top Idol confesses to a schoolmate that she's a masochist and dreams of being violated by him. Which he is happy to oblige to. The background story itself could be told in 5 minutes or less. It's basically 95% H-scenes. Those are tasteful and unusual for the visual novel genre. From spanking while a**f*cking to drinking pee.

Blackberry Honey

"Blackberry Honey" is a beautifully written romantic love story between two women, set in Victorian England around 1860. The original music score is structured similar to an opera (opera had a crucial role in the development of one of the two main characters), recorded with orchestra and harpsichord. Background paintings(!) follow the template photographs taken by the author in and around old English mansions. The CGs are very well drawn and match the setting, even the few sex scenes are very tasteful and not the usual porn stuff found in most visual novels. Initially I had to get used to the style the character sprites are drawn, but they are actually very apt to the story and setting. My only criticism is the unnaturally large bosom of the lead character Lori, which I can't find a better word for than 'udders'. This is not an anime vn after all! In summary, "Blackberry Honey" is a must-read for one who likes romantic stories in historic settings.

Light-hearted, cute and undemanding good entertainment for 6 to 8 hours. Like "LoveKami: Divinity stage", "LoveKami: Useless Goddess" is visually stunning, not just because of the E-mote engine. It's well directed, has a cute story and endearing characters. The good voice actresses fit and help build the characters. Special kudos for Akane's voicing! Compared to the first game, it seems there have been budget cuts on this one. There are only 10 (compared to 32) music tracks that also don't reach the quality level of "Divinity Stage". Moreover, less care has been taken to E-mote-ing mouth animations while talking. Also, although a very minor issue, there's no config point that mutes sound if another window has the focus. It does mute when minimized though. What may turn many players down is that it's basically a kinetic novel with only one option, where you can directly choose the route for one of the three girls to follow after a common route. I like kinetic novels, so it didn't matter for me.

This medium length visual novel is playing with expectations and emotions, loss and success. It shows how your past can decide on who you are today, but you yourself can still decide who you're going to be tomorrow. Events that are important for one person can go unnoticed by the other person. Words can mean different things to different people. Deal with it.

Without doubt, it is a very cute story. Sprites, CG, background art, H-scenes -- it's all of a high quality. But the writing is very run of the mill, never trying to do better than your average visual novel with sexual content, sacrificing text quality to the mediums sentence by sentence norm. What remains is a cute and still fun average vn worth 8/10 only due to art direction.

"Love Ribbon" is a beautifully written and well structured novel that would be good material for a movie or re-written as a print novel by the same authors. The topic of romantic and physical love between siblings (in this case, two very different sisters who first meet when they were about 18 and 17) is treated in a very sensitive and earnest way. It never gets cheesy or lewd and clearly has it's focus on describing and discussing the mental and societal struggles of two persons in love who happen to be sisters. The character development is perfect. Even the H-scenes are very tasteful and the text for them is completely lacking the moaning and panting hell many other H-vn use. They are placed at logical points in the story and don't leave the impression to be there as a f**ping template. If you bought this vn for these reasons, you won't like it. It's serious stuff - seriously. "Love Ribbon" is at the very top among the many vn I read/played. There are only two endings, the "bad" one depending on just one of the very few choices relatively early on. It doesn't matter at all. After all, this is a novel more than anything else. story: 10/10 writing: 10/10 (I've given this before, it should be 15/10 if that were possible) Sprites: 8/10 CG art 10/10 H-CG art 10/10 ****: 10/10 for transitions, 9/10 for H-Scenes Technical: Ren'Py used to its fullest, no glitches or impractical use of features.

A nice little Yuri-Hentai game with a simple, but very cute story. It has three endings, none of which is really bad. Background images are not bad at all, the character sprites are really good. In the original version (steam is censored) there are 24 tasteful H-CG art pictures *without mosaic*! The English translation is quite good with only a few minor errors. Good music, but no voice acting. There are only three girls with quite different characters in the game and their interaction is credible. Playing all three routes (text already read is skipable) plus minor variants will take you about 5 hours. For players who like short visual novels and/or Yuri in general this is a must play.

Palinurus is a short kinetic novel made for the nanoreno 2015 vn jam. It has literary value to it and would be well worth reading as a printed short story. It reminds me of a radioplay written in 1962 by M.L.Kaschnitz(1). The main character, Budapest, is endearing on all levels of her personality; CG and artwork are simple but well drawn and incredibly cute. There's a (kind of) open ending that will make most readers ponder on the topics of Palinurus. It certainly did for me. 10/10 Palinurus simply is a must read!

In its class of relatively short free visual novels, "Sounds of Her Love" is outstanding and gets a solid 10 from me. It's a very well written love story between a boy and a troubled girl. Sprites and background have been designed with love, the background music (by Kevin McLeod) was very well selected, and the girl is fully narrated -- the voice actress did a good job and has a great voice. There are three endings - an early bad one, and a neutral as well as a good ending. The neutral ending is not easy to get, but the author provided a decision tree in the steam forum for the game. In March 2018 the author released a short sequel "SOHL - we'll Always Be Together" I really had a good time playing this vn; playing the main story with the good ending takes about 2 hours, add about an hour to get all endings.

This is a really good creepypasta-like story. Lynn is a troubled 15 year old girl living with her pregnant sister Jas and their working class parents in London. Their father has high expectations for her. This is a story about stress induced mental disorders, self hatred and failure. It certainly is not suitable for every reader, but for those who like this kind of story it is a good two hour read that won't disappoint you. Story - 8/10 Music - I can't decide. Is it a 2/10 or a 10/10? it's certainly weird, but it perfectly fits the story. So I'll go with a 10/10 Sprites - sparse, but ok. 5/10 Background art - run of the mill with some nice effects. 5/10 This (weighting the story higher) makes it a solid 8/10

Five very moving love stories with a good and a bad ending (1 character has a good and a neutral ending). Assuming you already know what the game's about, I'll just say that you'll laugh often, but cry for longer times. The background story is hilarious most of the times, but each girl's story is very tragic and told very detailed. The reason for "only" giving it a 9/10 is the protagonist. Even though he's not been written to be taken seriously, it's just too much. He's 17, knows almost everything about anything, and has been a sniper for a fictitious government agency for almost 2 years. And also he's lot of sexual experience with hookers and can come 3 or 4 times with no recovery time. yeah, sure. The H-Scenes, two to four for each girl, are really cute. Available only in the denpasoft version.

This is not a game, it's not even a simple visual novel. It's a piece of art. Chihiros story is one of the most beautiful things I ever read/heard/saw. The cinematography is captivating. The script is unspeakably beautiful (Kleenex-score: 10 out of 10). The voice actors, especially Chihiro's voice, are wonderful and hit the mood and the emotions exactly. If you love seeing a good arthouse movie, if you love reading important books, by all means get this. The combined play time for both parts of the game is around 50 hours.

Katawa Shoujo is a wonderful -- if often sad -- visual novel that was the result of a community project. While some who didn't play it may have called it a dating sim because of the structure of the game, it is so much more than that. The playable protagonist is Hisao, an 18 year old boy who transfers to a school for physically disabled students after he had a heart attack and was diagnosed with congenital arrhythmia. There he meets five girls and depending on player choices slowly falls into love with one of them. Each route has several branching points that can lead the player to at least one bad ending, in one case a neutral ending and a good ending (that may also be sad). The characters, their disabilities and how they handle them and their backstories are credible and detailed. Their personalities are well defined and multidimensional. The progression of interpersonal relations is realistic and believable, as are the steps leading to the various endings. In one route, unluckily the one I had reserved to play as the last route, the good ending is also very ambivalent and I'm not sure how to feel about it. I decided that for me it was sad. The writing is excellent, the background images and character sprites are beautiful and detailed with many expressions. The sound track has high musical quality. Before I forget: There are two H-scenes for three of the girls, one for one girl and three for one girl. Players who don't want to see them (but why would you do that) can disable them in the options menu. A complete playthrough will take you around 35 hours, but it's worth every single minute. I put this vn among the top 5 I've played so far.

One of the most beautiful VN stories I know. Period. For me it's very rare to sit down and finish something in one big session. With this story, which took me about 16 hours, it was different. I listened to it/read it in one take, finishing it 5.a.m. All dialogues are narrated by very good Japanese voice actors. The text between, you have to read. The scenery is painted very beautifully and the characters are by no way stereotypical like in many Japanese vn's. Towards the end the story gets increasingly sad and has an emotionally devastating end that nevertheless also gives a shimmer of hopefulness. Depending on where you buy eden* also contains 4 bonus episodes meant to watch/listen after finishing the main story. Those take about 75 minutes each and contain tasteful porn (japan-censored) but still are cute stories staying in character within the frame of the main vn. I can't recommend it enough.

I got it for free on twitch prime, and it sounded nice. The gameplay was not. "Hope", the playable character, got stuck in the first minute of gameplay three times I started it. At that point, I gave up. I imagine how a child fighting cancer, the main target audience of "I, Hope", might feel about that if it happened to her or him. The cause the studio promotes by donating the proceeds of the game to cancer research is a good one, which might justify buying the game nonetheless. As a game, it gets a 0 from me.

A witty and fun Adventure. You can -- and should -- talk to everyone and everything. You can use the pen on everything. In contrast to other critics I find the English narration better than the German original. As usual in adventure games, talk to everyone and ask all questions. If you do so, the riddles are mostly logical, but extremely absurd -- which I like a lot. Also, there are many allusions to real life issues, but these are also presented in a totally absurd manner. The only issue I had with the game are that it requires a lot of walking and without a map this can be very tedious. That's why I deduct one point. 9/10.

If it were for style, balance, or fun of gameplay, I'd easily give Overwatch a 10 without much thinking about it. BUT! Blizzard has yet to solve problem of the enormous amount of toxic players in Overwatch. The game mandatory requiring good teamwork to win, a single toxic player, often leavers, can destroy the match for 5 (or 11) players. The game is very accessible and there literally are players from 6 to 66, leading to different levels of seriousness players go into a match. My subjective experience: very young players tend to take the game seriously and are good communicators, as adult players are. The problematic age group seems to be between 12 and 16.
