A peaceful movie, with a loving couple. Director did a fine job of portraying the writing of poetry. Even though the main action in this movie is writing poetry, the movie kept me interested.

I watched this more than a month ago on Netflix. The story has a lot of twists and turns and drama. Good performances and great story. Glad I watched it.

This documentary had beautiful video of making and eating food and wine; and Israel. I learned about kosher, hummus, and many other things. My favorite scene was this: when asked if he wanted wine, he responded that he is allergic, he breaks out in handcuffs and police cars when he drinks. Watched at the Edina Landmark Theater.

About a dysfunctional family in England. I found it hard to relate to family members. I recommend subtitles to understand what the actors are saying. Watched this movie at home with a dvd on loan from the library.

The subject matter of the film was sad, both for the animals and humans in Warsaw. The sadness made me feel anxious throughout the film. Watched this at the landmark Edina.

What a cute and funny movie. Sally Field played her role perfectly. I think it would be cool to live on Staten Island. Watched this on Amazon Prime Instant.

Love the Coen Brothers' humor. Enjoyable performances by Brolin and Clooney. Enjoyed performances by Swinton and Ehrenreich. Watched this on Netflix Instant.

This movie about a dog with multiple lives is almost as lovely as the book. My only gripe, is that I wish all dog owners knew that they need to use a leash with their dog. Watched this at the Riverview.

Foreign film with fabulous city photography and of course cat pictures that melt your heart. There were wonderful stories of the cats and their caregivers. Saw this last weekend at the Landmark Edina.

Romance, drama with a twist at the end. I felt apprehension throughout the film as the disfunctional main character makes mistakes in his choices. I like the ending. Available through Overdrive with my libary card.

Enjoyed Annette Benning's performance. It was more the history of the 80's from one family's perspective, rather than a story. I was not interested in what came next. Borrowed through Redbox.

Saw this at the Riverview. The audience was packed with kids, who have a brand of humor different than adults. Positive uplifting story and wonderful music.

What an emotional, suspenseful thriller. Plus it was cool seeing Iranians performing a classic American film. Very enjoyable. Saw it at the Landmark Edina.

Rented this movie from Redbox. Interesting biography of a world war 2 hero, Desmond Doss. Andrew Garfield is very believable. Glad I watched this movie.

Weiner has an engaging personality and he has done good in the world, but I believe he is too outgoing and naive to be an effective public servant in this day and age. Very interesting documentary.

Enjoyed this show on Amazon Prime after learning it is a nominee for 2016 Best Documentary. This creative young man is a hero, along with his caregiver family.

Simple, feel good comedy. I love foreign movies to see how other people live and deal with everyday occurrences. Saw it at the Riverview. The audience clapped at the end of the movie.

I rented Infinitely Polar Bear from the local library, after reading that it has Mark Ruffalo's best performance. Mark Ruffalo is superb in the film. Plus it is an intriguing story of a family dealing with bipolar. The movie is realistic to me.

Saw Hidden Figures at the AMC Southdale. Positive, fun, uplifting. Glad I saw it once, and would enjoy seeing it a second time. I enjoy going to the theater and learning about history.

How nice to see singing and dancing from our favorite young movie stars. Nice humor and romance. The story was confusing at times, but that is overshadowed by the wonderful music and dancing.

The movie was not what I expected. I enjoyed the characters, the scenery, and the plot. And Casey Affleck looks and sounds a lot like brother Ben. It was a good value for my money. I found it to be a positive and hopeful movie, despite the sadness that some of the characters go through.

Saw this at the Landmark Edina. Beautiful scenery with a happy ending. The girl has a wonderful smile. It's amazing how these people can get the eagles to collaborate with them in the hunt.

Watched at home on amazon prime. Movie is B&W; talking is minimal. It was slow moving, but it gave me a sense of how it may have been for Lincoln as a kid. The sounds of nature were everywhere and very pleasant to hear.

Watched this movie on Amazon Prime. Interesting story, but very low-key. Granted, the main character was extremely introverted. More predictable than enjoyable for me.

I watched this movie at home on Netflix. I believe it is in Italian with English subtitles. There were a lot of story twists and turns. The story was retold from the perspective of each of the main characters. Loved it. The characters were all believable in their roles.

Florence Foster Jenkins. Saw this movie at the Riverview. What an interesting character she is. And the main actors were very well cast. I enjoyed it.

I have only met one accountant who had the physique of Ben Affleck. There was a lot of action and plot twists in this movie. For me, there was too much killing, and not enough laughs. I expect this movie will have sequels.

The movie was scary to watch even though I knew that the outcome is happy. And it's cool how they can change how actor's appearance to look so much like the real person. Watched this at the AMC Southdale.

Iris Apfel is inspiring. What a wonderful hip, humorous, senior citizen. I enjoyed the documentary from beginning to end. I hope to be only half as cool as Iris in late life, And all the accomplishments in her career as a designer is amazing.

I saw this movie at the Willow Creek in Plymouth. Action drama based on history. This movie held my attention for the full two hours. The actors were wonderfully believable and well-cast. The movie focused on the investigation rather than the horrible deeds that they were investigating.

A very serious documentary showing a situation (from the 1960's) in Indonesia that was very sad to watch. Pretty scenery, but very sad situation. What a courageous man is the main character. Plus it was cool to see how a healthy senior citizen (over age 90) lives in Indonesia. And, I enjoyed the humor shared between the main character and his parents. I saw this movie on Netflix dvd.

I liked that the movie was a mix between Godfather and Bonnie & Clyde. The scenery was cool. The negatives are the violence. This dvd is on loan from the library. The recommendation is from Ebertfest.

Loves all the characters in the movie. And Al Pacino was superb. The plot was nothing unsual, but the actors were wonderful. I watched this movie with a Hennepin County library dvd.

I liked learning more about Nathan Handwerker of Famous Nathans Hotdogs. I felt it was hard to keep all the names straight in the family. At the end of the film, I lost track of who was who. I would have liked to learn more about the current Nathan's Hotdogs and the July 4 Hot Dog eating contest. This film is available through Netflix Instant.

Positive uplifting story-line and beautiful scenery. Story takes place in Kashmir. After watching this film, I want to learn more about this region of the world. This film is available on Netflix Instant.

Ebert gave this the highest rating - and I agree. Powerful movie about war, death, and friendship. Even though the movie was in Estonian, Russian, and Georgian, I couldn't stop watching it. Sad, but inspiring.

I admire the success of Evelyn Glennie, a percussion soloist and how she is able to pull music from everyday events. What an artist! And the scenery in the movie is fabulous.
