Gekido Advance: Kintaro's Revenge

How to start ? The combat in Gekido: Kintaro’s Revenge feels fantastic, juggling is easy and satisfying to do, you have a range of special move combos to learn and even a special “keep away” attack to help with crowd control. It is responsive, vibrant and really hearkens back to the greats **** I love it. Relic Hunter sees you exploring randomly generated dungeons in search of Relics, like every other mode this is fully playable in Co-Op and adds so much to the games length. It’s worth tackling after you have done the story as it’ll throw late game enemies at you from the get go, overall it’s a tough but fantastic game mode and one I will continue to work through time and time again. If you love the genre, Gekido: Kintaro’s Revenge is one of the titles you have to get, the combat is great and the soundtrack is superb.

I loved Gekido and I love it much more now ! the new features are amazing, music and new modes are stunning ! Co-op is brand new and it’s one of the ways this version shines. Co-op is a good time, even with the steep difficulty. It’s like a coin-munching arcade game I can't be happier than that , also new graphic is a state of the art of animation

LEGO Worlds is a weird game for no one in particular. Younger players will be happy seeing brick men jumping around brick worlds but they won't be able to complete most tasks. Older players will become bored by low difficulty level and repetitiveness. There is hope in the inevitable additional content - fingers crossed for free distribution.

Vanquish is a fun, dumb game that feels good to play when you get into a zone. If you're a fan of Escape From New York or other B-grade action films, Vanquish will appeal to you as well. While I wish that Vanquish would let me fully indulge in the many joys the game has to offer, budget and time added roadblocks to the experience. For 20 dollars, I can certainly recommend this to new players or true fans of the original. But if you didn't like Vanquish the first go-around, there's not a lot here other than a prettier looking version of the same game from the previous generation consoles.

Perception

User Scoreisthis4you

Perception differs from the rest of the heap in its central conceit. Instead of playing a bland self-insert, players take the role of the sardonic and immensely likeable Cassie, who’s been blind her whole life. Cassie’s had a whole series of nightmares involving an old house, and against the behest of her boyfriend and her own better judgment, she decides to take a flight to the dilapidated building and check it out. Cue the ghosts, murderous dolls, and a lurking malevolent force known only as The Presence. To visually represent Cassie’s disability, players cannot see anything in the house outside of vague colours and shapes. Other than that, the game is blanketed in complete darkness, and it’s up to players to use Cassie’s cane to better see her environments. Tapping the cane allows players to use echolocation to better figure out where to go, and other sounds in the house, like wind blowing in through a window, or spooky old radios, also help to give players an idea of where they are. However, tapping the cane too much can give away Cassie’s location, which attracts The Presence and is generally a good way to get yourself killed. What’s most impressive about this mechanic is that it’s something I found myself growing acclimated to through the game. Unlike other games of this variety, there was actually a mechanic present that I had to master, and finding myself slipping into a familiar rhythm with it felt really satisfying. Exploring the house with these mechanics and gradually piecing together the narrative is, in general, a pretty gratifying affair. Each chapter deals with a previous tenant of the house, who players learn more about through collecting items and triggering certain events. This being a horror game and all, none of these tenants had a particularly pleasant go of things. About half of these tragic tales compelled me, with the other half relying a bit too much on trope-ish material to really hook me. But the ones that hooked me really hooked me, such as an ambitious woman attempting to get approved for frontline combat in the Second World War, and an eccentric inventor creating an army of terrifying doll children known as Poppets. Cassie pieces together the common thread between these different generations of inhabitants through learning their stories, and in turn, starts to uncover exactly what’s brought her to this old house. Unfortunately, by the time things were wrapping up, the methods used to uncover more narrative bits had grown a little stale. Walking down some stairs, triggering a cut scene, then walking back up said stairs to trigger another cut scene started to wear my patience thin. Most of the gameplay can be boiled down to that, and from a mechanical standpoint, walking back and forth repeatedly is just not very compelling. The introduction of the Poppets livened things up, as they zip around the house on preset rails and attempt to shoot Cassie, but the basic mechanics boiled down to the same thing. What also bummed me out was how little I had to hide from The Presence. The house is littered with hiding places, but I only encountered this ethereal monstrosity through fixed set pieces and not by making too much noise, rendering those little hiding cubbies practically useless. Granted, said set pieces were sufficiently tense and frightening, with a frantic dash through a graveyard being a particular highlight. But by and large, Perception falls victim to the biggest trapping of this first-person haunted house sub-genre – walking from Point A to Point B repeatedly with barely anything else to do. This was the crux of what made Layers of Fear such a miserable experience, and it occasionally threatens to undo the fresh originality on display here. That said, Perception is short enough that it’s hot take on haunted houses didn’t ever truly wear out its welcome. In a post-PT world, Perception is probably the best of bunch when it comes to wandering haunted houses, decoding obfuscated narratives, and triggering jump scares. Its protagonist is one of the better female leads out there, its unique art direction complements the core concept, and its sound design almost always manages to keep players on the edge of their seats. While I would’ve liked some of the lesser plot threads to resonate with me more, and perhaps a few more mechanics to mess around, Perception is ultimately a pretty winning title. This is clearly a passion project by some of the best names in the genre, and that passion manifests itself in a game that manages to be likeably frightening in spite of its occasional missteps. If you’re looking for a fresh take on haunted houses and don’t mind some dives into repetition, Perception is worth picking up for a few hours of solid scares.

Injustice 2

If you are a fan of fighting games, a fan of the Mortal Kombat-style gameplay, or a fan of DC comics, Injustice 2 will scratch your itch. There is so much on offer that taking a top-down view of the game is a bit intimidating. The controls are spot on, building on the legacy of both the modern-era Mortal Kombat games and the previous Injustice. The graphics are incredible, both during gameplay and during story cutscenes. There is a story mode, continuing the story from the first game, that lasts 6-8 hours depending on both your skill with multiple characters and your choices. Yes, **** will get to decide which characters you use (to an extent) as you play through the story, and your choices affect what happens as well as what rewards you earn. There is also a fantastic Multiverse mode, which presents a number of different single player fights with various modifiers. Maybe you have Harley Quinn as a summonable sidekick, or maybe the Joker periodically drops bombs into the stage throughout the match. Either way, you get rewarded for doing well and it mixes up the action from the usual one-on-one fighting. The gear system provides a lot of fun incentive to try out new characters and work on building up your favorites. The gear not only changes how a character looks, but also adds stats like health, defense, etc, as well as sometimes adding little cantrips like gaining extra xp or credits, or taking less damage from certain types of attacks. There are even sets with bonuses for equipping multiple pieces in a set. There's a lot on offer in Injustice 2, and I found myself unable to put my controller down. I kept wanting to try one more Multiverse tower, or level up a character so I could equip some newfound piece of gear, or just battle online to contribute to my guild. You will not be disappointed unless you just flat out don't like fighting games. Edit: I am revising my score down a point after spending nearly a week with the game. There are some pretty nasty inconsistencies that I think can be addressed with a small patch. The gear system suffers from the same problem World of Warcraft did early on. Namely, you can acquire higher level gear that is far inferior to lower level gear. With all the different appearances, stats and cantrips available, there is no reason for such RNG variation in the numbers. The AI is also inconsistent. One minute you might be wiping the floor with an opponent, and the next, they pull out a 13 hit combo that leaves you with no room to breathe. It sometimes feels like any AI between 'Very Easy' and 'Very Hard' just toggles between those two extremes randomly. Finally, the Multiverse bosses are just plain not fun. They force you to play nearly perfect for an extended period, as bosses enjoy boosts like hit armor and overall reduced damage. I suppose they would be fun for that handful of people that liked fighting Shao Khan (from Mortal Kombat 9) or Gil (Street Fighter 3), but those people are few and far between (this being on the internet, I'm sure I'll see dozens of people who claim otherwise). It's disappointing to see such a great game include 'cheap bosses' as a regular feature.

Bayonetta

t feels like a dream seeing Bayonetta on PC, and thankfully, it’s no nightmare. While the frame rate is locked during cutscenes, everything else about the optimization has been done near perfect. Maxed out at 1080p60 is an easily achievable feat, even for older hardware, and the graphical enhancements only shed light on how well the visual aesthetics hold up so many years later. The controls are also done well for keyboard and mouse, so with the option ****, this is undoubtedly the best version of Bayonetta yet. As for the game itself, the story isn’t for everyone, especially considering how extraordinary deranged it is, and there are a couple of unforgiving combat scenarios. Fortunately, Bayonetta is still an alluring adventure that will hold a smile on your face until the credits roll.
