This game can **** you in completely and you can lose yourself in it for hours at a time, but it still has its flaws. The combat is now really sharp and more akin to a shooter than an RPG, which depending on your preferences may be a good or bad thing. New armour and weapon modding system is an amazing improvement on previous games. Power armour is badass and comes with its own mods too. The spoken dialogue and new conversation style was something I was really against but I stopped caring about it so much as the game went on and I feel like it really enhanced the story, which for the first and second act was really good. While also controversial, I found the new perk system fine and occasionally more intuitive than other editions, although I did find myself wishing for a little more variety in what new abilities they gave me. The story towards the end lacked as I didn't feel any kind of personal involvement. Things just kept happening around you. Also, the results of your sentence choices rarely have any effect on the overall direction of the conversation. In F:NV alliances could be brokered and factions ignored, but here there seems to be a 'kill everything' approach to all the faction storylines. This is also seen in the general mission variety, which usually boils down to a 'kill everything' checklist. Oh and of course, bugs. Lots of bugs. I think Fallout 4 managed to become an enjoyable experience greater than the sum of its parts. Glaring flaws make it far from a perfect game but it is definitely worth the money for its 60+ hours of quality gameplay, For those it really clicks with hundreds more hours can surely be found in the nooks and crannies of the wasteland.

The Walking Dead: Season Two Episode 1 - All That Remains

Clementine picks up the story of the Walking Dead really well and is still a fantastic and sympathetic character despite being 2 years older. The decisions and consequences return and it is really well written. Disappointingly it is very short at 1 hour 45 minutes tops, but it bodes well for the rest of series 2.

This episode confirms The Walking Dead as my favorite story-line in any video game ever. Although it is only 1 hour 30 minutes and extremely linear this episode is less about exploration and more about the conclusion of Lee and Clementine's story, which is so beautifully done. Hands down a must buy for absolutely everyone. A phenomenal game!

This is a more relaxed and light-hearted story than the other episodes, but is still thoroughly enjoyable. The ambiance and tone root the player in for the impressive length of this episode, while sinister hints and the great ending set up for the conclusion.

The Walking Dead: Episode 3 - Long Road Ahead

Episode 3 is relentlessly harrowing and sad, for the characters and for the player. The choices made previously really feel meaningful in this episode. Probably the longest episode in the series, it captures the arduous struggle as the characters travel miles in the hope of civilization. My personal favorite episode and a heartbreaking experience for players of the previous two.

Episode 2 is riddled with more bugs than any of the other episodes, but looking past those as an experience it is truly amazing. The storyline is even better than the first and it does a good job of setting up future plot lines while remaining nicely self-contained. The characters develop over the course of the game and the events will shock and surprise players from beginning to end. One of the best episodes in series 1!

Although this episode doesn't rank as well next to the later ones it's still a fantastic starting point for the series. It does a good job with the tone and the characters and setting up players for the rest of the harrowing adventure to come.

Fallout 3 is a strong contender for the greatest game of the generation. Everything about the game, from the enemies, to the characters, to the settings, to the story, to the music, are all so captivating that, when combined with the atmosphere Bethesda have created, makes it near impossible to put the controller down. With story missions and side missions coming out of its ears, Fallout 3 will provide players with entertainment for months and is a truly amazing masterpiece.

Fallout: New Vegas - Honest Hearts

Honest Hearts has a great story and memorable characters, set in the excellent Zion Valley in Utah. The game focuses on the tribal warfare we hear about in the main game, but have never actually experienced until now. The Sorrows, White Legs and Dead Horses are all enjoyable factions and The Burned Man is an amazing character to have running around with you. Yao Guai make a violent return from Fallout 3, a welcome addition to the roster of returning monsters from the Mojave. The new weapons and armour are great and make use of the previously semi-redundant Survival skill. Sadly, the big final decision doesn't feel that spectacular and the final confrontation and boss fight are rather forgettable. Although being shorter than the other DLCs, Honest Hearts is a great expedition for an experienced Courier.

Fallout: New Vegas - Dead Money
5

Dead Money offers players 6-7 hours of extra gameplay, but they may not be the most enjoyable hours Fallout: New Vegas has to offer. The Sierra Madre casino is dark and eerie, which is a nice change to the bright and open expanses of the Mojave Desert, but this novelty soon wears off and the alleys of the villa soon become dreary and navigating the place becomes a chore. The finale of the DLC drags on slightly too long and the boss battle is underwhelming. The characters of Dead Money are better. Christine, Dean Domino and God are interesting new characters and your interactions with them have a profound effect later on, which was a great feeling. In other words, piss one of them off and they're not going to do you any favours later on. Elijah is a fairly unremarkable villain, however. A stand out was the back-story of the casino, which was a nice touch. New gameplay additions include a few new, fairly run-off-the-mill weapons, sturdy Ghost People enemies and various annoyances. These annoyances include radios and speakers which can blow your head off, and invincible hologram enemies that shoot lasers. The former are infuriating from the start but I personally found the holograms sinister and scary, complimenting the overall atmosphere the DLC tries to create. Overall, Dead Money is the worst Fallout: New Vegas DLC and is nowhere near essential even for a die-hard fan.

Fallout: New Vegas - Lonesome Road
8
User ScoreiLightning

Lonesome Road does one thing very well; atmosphere. The completely wasted scenery, rolling winds and barren landscapes of The Divide are amazing and well designed. The DLC also comes with a decent helping of new weapons and armour, as well as a few new perks. The lonesome road itself is quite linear, which is restrictive compared to the freedom of walking the Mojave in the main game. The DLC's greatest weakness is the flimsy back-story between the Courier and Ulysses, which is never very well explained and never feels particularly relevant to the player's character. Ulysses himself is a formidable presence and I'll give his voice actor a cookie for his excellent performance, but he seems to repeat himself and a lot of what he says is just padding and poorly-explained symbolism about Bulls and Bears. The ending of the DLC feels suitably climactic and the aftermath of the awesome final decision (new areas of the Mojave) are a really neat addition. The Long 15 and Dry Wells feel amazing and, again, they've captured the desolate atmosphere perfectly. Overall, a fitting end to Fallout: New Vegas, just not a perfect one.

DmC: Devil May Cry

Having an unbiased opinion, (I have never paid attention to the previous Devil May Cry Games in any way) I can say that DmC is an amazingly fun game. It's fast-paced, looks fantastic and has an awesome atmosphere, owed to by it's great soundtrack. The combat is designed well and allows any amateur with enough brain cells to slash through the demonic horde, but more fiendish difficulties and a mind-boggling combo system will keep veterans playing and improving for months. The story is also quality. Coherent and refreshingly simple. The only flaw of this game is that a couple of boss fights feel rushed and stuck together with jam, but the rest are memorable occasions. Overall a great action game for all action game fans.
