At around a third of the way through the game I would have ranked this game a 9/10. Looking back I probably saw a majority of what the game had to offer. Some creative ideas with time travel and pausing time but the developers stopped a bit short and should have teased out those ideas a bit more. The orbs system is also neat but ultimately somewhat pointless because each orb is much more powerful than the last so no real point in changing back. It has metroidvania elements but never felt like I was getting much stronger.

This could have been so good, seeing as the old ones were amazing, but instead they made it so you can just spam a single move over and over again and defeat the AI.

This is the very first metroidvania I played and I loved it. It does a fantastic job of being approachable while not being too simplistic.

Lovely game that surpasses the original. The only thing I am not crazy about with the game is that it goes a little long in some sections.

This game is perfect in terms of gameplay. Story, bosses, level design, different abilities, characters - all of them are fantastic. I wish it was a little bit longer, but better to be too short than too long. Only thing I am not crazy about, and this is purely my issue and not the designers, is the art direction isn't my favorite.

About 75% of the way through the game and loving every moment of it. The game is more open than Metroid: Fusion but a little more linear than something like Symphony of the Night. It is a great introduction game to the genre due it's unrelenting pace of gaining power-ups and facing challenging bosses. It also is a great game for those who have played plenty of Metroidvanias since the game seems to pull influence from a lot of the fan favorites while feeling new. It is a long game for the genre but not once have I felt as though a part is a slog to get through
