The Sopranos: Season 110
Jan 22, 2011
This is the best debut season of any show ever created. The way it slowly shows us the world of Tony Soprano and how it's not really all about being a mobster, but about trying to keep a family together.

Seinfeld: Season 410
Jan 21, 2011
The season where Seinfeld finally hit its stride. I won't bother dissecting episodes from the show, but just so you get an idea how "classic" this season is, I'll list some episodes (which is worth more than 1000 words when talking about this show): The Pitch, The Bubble Boy, The Cheever Letters, The Virgin, The Contest, The Pick, The Implant, The Junior Mint. Is that enough for you?

30 Rock: Season 19
Jan 21, 2011
Now this season is a tricky one. It takes a whiiiilee to get going, to find what it does best (the Jack, Liz relationship), but when it does, hilarity ensues, of course. This season of 30 Rock is probably the one I'm least fond of, that doesn't mean its bad, because it really, really isn't. I just enjoy the Jack and Liz dynamic of the following seasons more.

The Walking Dead: Season 17
Jan 21, 2011
Man, that pilot is one of the best things I saw on TV last year, but then, it went downhill after that. I feel a bit conflicted because there are some things I really love about this show, the atmosphere, mood, etc. but on the other hand its filled with clichÃd dialogue, contrived situations, shoddy accents and acting, so overall I feel disappointed with it. I really think that the show can only go up from here, now with a new writing staff hopefully they'll address these issue and if not, well, it did have an awesome pilot.

Friends: Season 104
Jan 21, 2011
Friends was never the funniest show on TV, but a its best it had some sharp writing and pretty decent jokes. Season 10 is not Friends at its best, its well, the contrary. It feels kind of insulting to see these characters try to be funny, one empty punchline after another, especially Joey, who could qualify as a mentally **** person at this point of the series. I'll give this to the last season of the show, the finale is pretty sweet and heartwarming, but to be honest, this show really, REALLY lost it here and its pretty noticeable that the cast mostly did it for that huge fu**ing paycheck.

Arrested Development: Season 38
Jan 21, 2011
Sad to see a show this great cancelled that early, but really, it was probably for the best. The 3rd season started show some signs of tiredness and jokes sometimes didn't hit. It definitely didn't end on a sour note at all, but I really believe that it ended just when it had to, and that finale was a great way to wrap this amazing show. Overall I'd rate the show with a 10, even with some not-so-great episodes and all, sitcoms don't get as funny as Arrested Development did in such a short time. It deserved all the praise it got when it first aired, and now stands as one of the most important shows of the last decade. Bravo Mitchell Hurwitz.

Arrested Development: Season 210
Jan 21, 2011
The best season of Arrested Development. Here's where all the foreshadowing, callbacks and in-jokes start to really, really pay off, and oh man, it's just flat out hilarious. Many episodes of this season had my sides hurting because of how funny it is. So many great moment: the Blue Man Group arch, "come on!", the funeral dance, Buster joining "army", "Her?", Maeby as a film studio executive, etc. This is the funniest sitcom ever made.

Arrested Development: Season 19
Jan 21, 2011
An amazing debut season for the best sitcom of the 00's. It takes a bit to get going, and as a recommendation I would probably watch like 6 episodes in a row every time you decide to pop in the DVD, as it has so many callbacks, in-jokes, etc. that if you decide to watch one episode and 3 days later another one, some of those jokes may just go over your head and you won't even notice. Probably the reason why this show never attracted many viewers.

30 Rock: Season 310
Jan 21, 2011
This is the season that made me fall in love with 30 Rock. I think this is probably the show's finest hour. For the most part every episode is hilarious (every sitcom since the beginning of time has never had a perfect season, yes, not even Arrested Development, and certainly not Seinfeld) and the show has such a manic, exciting feel that you just can't help but succumb to it. Man, I could watch "El Generalissimo" on repeat all day (hyperbole, of course).

The Office: Season 78
Jan 21, 2011
Ok, I'm sort of relieved. The Office is not the funniest show on TV anymore, but it's definitely an improvement on season 6 (which was pretty bad). So far, it has been funny enough and sweet enough for me to watch every week again, I do feel glad that it seems to be on the right track again, but we all know Steve Carell is leaving after the end of this season, so I don't know what to expect. I know the writers have said that the show will keep going, but really, without Michael Scott, the heart of the show, I have no idea how they'll keep the show interesting.

The Office: Season 65
Jan 21, 2011
This show really went to s**t with this season. I mean, the writers dropped the ball on this one. Michael Scott starts to feel played out. Jim and Pam storyline is pretty dull and the most important thing of all... it's just not that funny. I'll have to say that this is one of the most disappointing seasons **** show.

30 Rock: Season 47
Jan 21, 2011
Every show has its missteps. The Office had season 6. Seinfeld had that uh, finale. Even Arrested Development started to feel a bit tired by the 3rd season. And now, it's 30 Rock's turn. Don't get me wrong, it still has a lot of laugh out loud moments and is mostly pretty solid, but the show starts to show strains by the latter half. It's not "season 6 of The Office" bad (man, getting through those episodes was... brutal) it gets better by the end (especially when Elizabeth Banks and Matt Damon step into frame, but overall it is a disappointing season. Thankfully the show returned to greatness with its fifth season.

The Wire: Season 110
Jan 21, 2011
In the opening of the first episode, when McNulty asks the witness "If Snotboogie always stole the money, why'd you let him play?" and he answers "You got to, this America, man." you know that you're in for something special. The greatest compliment I can give to this show is that its never predictable, a seemingly impossible feat for a show to have, but its true, The Wire is unpredictable. The first season focuses on the projects and a war against drugs, who apparently nobody but Daniels' squad cares about. I won't spoil it or anything, but by the end you're so exhausted from the intensity and the ending is so deliberately unsatisfying (in a good way), but the show doesn't care, what it cares about is about showing things realistically, and of course, we all know that is succeeds. The Wire is dense storytelling at its finest.

Community: Season 29
Jan 21, 2011
Community got a bit crazy at the end of the first season, and I mean it in a good way. So what would it do in its second season? get even crazier. Stop motion? sure. Halloween episode that turns Greendale students into zombies? that too. And you know what? it's **** great. This is the meta-est show on TV right now and it's heading towards a lot of self referencing (see: Arrested Development) so lets hope that audiences are willing to go with it and well, for the writers and cast to be able to knock it out of the park every week.

Community: Season 18
Jan 21, 2011
The first season of Community is a mixed bag, but its definitely more good than bad. Thing is that I don't think the show is one of the funniest sitcoms to have recently aired, what I think Community has is this sense of fun, excitement, etc. that allows it to do things like the ' probably going to be a classic ' episode "Modern Warfare". It has some problems, sure, like the endless pop culture references that Abed throws at us, can get annoying at a certain point, but it mostly works. But keep watching, it gets way better on its second season.

30 Rock: Season 59
Jan 21, 2011
After last season's decline in quality, it's refreshing to see how fast the show found its footing again. I don't know how many years the cast and crew will keep it up, but as of now, 30 Rock is still the most consistently funny sitcom on television still airing (we all know the winner of funniest show ever made goes to Arrested Development).
