SimCity9

This game only has such a low rating because of the DRM (which really isn't that big a deal) and the shaky (to say the least) launch. If people just cooled their loads and actually rated the game on how the game was instead of how bad the companies that make them are then the score would be much higher. Bottom line is that this is a great game. If you played and liked SimCity 4 then you will love this game.

New Super Mario Bros. U4

This game could be worse, but not much worse. This is a Mario Bros. game, which is such a popular franchise because of their addictive game play stemming from tight controls, without tight control. Want to run, for example? Then you better have half the screen in front of you before you start. I don't know if this is because of the game itself or because of the game pad, but it makes the game nearly unplayable. The bottom line is that I would only recommend this game for kids. Kids young enough to not know the difference between good and bad games, because that's who this game was made for. If you really want to play a newer Mario game do yourself a favor and get Super Mario 3D Land for the 3DS instead.

Some of the reviews have said that this is a console port. This is actually untrue though. I had followed the development of BL2 pretty closely and one thing that Gearbox always stressed is that the PC version was not a simple game port. Its the a full fledged GAME. Which is to say that they developed this version of the game alongside the console versions (not afterward). For a game developer to do that extra work just to keep consumers happy AND release a game this good is just the best, 10/10 for the game and 10/10 for Gearbox.

This game is proof that games can be well built as well as visually striking. I bought this game in the Humble Bundle V and payed something along the lines of $1.50 for it. But after playing it for something ridiculous like 15 hours over the course of 2 days I can see no reason why anybody should have any problem paying full price for it. I would. I might, just to donate more money to Supergiant Games. Its just a stunning game with a little bit of everything for everyone. It can be as easy or as difficult as you want it to be. It has some sections that feel almost casual, but there are some parts which are full out hardcore platforming. If there was one thing that I would say could use improvement was the difficulty curve going from the first playthrough to new game+. There wasn't one. I had to activate all the idols just to give myself more of a challenge. That withstanding I could not think of one other thing wrong with the game. The visuals are amazing, the soundtrack is fantastic, the gameplay is as simple or as complex as you feel you would like it to be, and the story is just incredible. You really need to be looking very hard to find something wrong or undesirable with this game.

In my opinion this game was better than Ocarina of Time and people just never gave it a fair chance because it was late in the cycle of the N64 and because it was just different than OoT. The game mechanics were refined, the storytelling and character development were impeccable , and the 3 day clock was just genius adding an extra level of depth and challenge to the game. While its true that compared to the first game the main story takes a bit more of a back seat in this game the amount of side quests and alternate story lines give this game an amazing amount of replayability, and I should know (I replay this game at least once a year).
