A Short Hike9
Nov 21, 2022
What you take away from this game will likely be a result of how you play it. The first time I played A Short Hike, I made my way straight the final goal quickly. I finished it in about an hour. I thought the game was okay, but nothing special. I tried playing it a second time a few weeks ago, and I finished it with a much more positive opinion. This time, I took my time to explore the island, get to know characters, and finish the side quests. I was surprised at how many little things densely populated the small island. I'm still not sure if I found them all. Experiencing a lot of the adventures on the island will add to the ending of the game. My suggestion is to take your time with this one in order to get the most out of it.

Fun, short puzzle game that was very relaxing to play. I feel that the challenge ramped up at a great pace. It was challenging at times, but never frustrating.

Wylde Flowers10
Oct 26, 2023
Wylde Flowers is my favorite game in the farming sim genre since **** Valley. The game injected much needed improvements into the stale farming formula. The voice acting is pretty good, and makes me feel like I'm actually living with a town full of interesting characters. And every line of dialogue in the game is voice acted, which isn't even something that Rune Factory games can say. The story was good enough to draw me into the game and keep me wanting to play. I took my time with it and spent about 40-45 hours on the story. Overall, I really enjoyed this game. I'm surprised it hasn't gotten much coverage.. especially from critics.

Two Point Campus2
Nov 21, 2022
I enjoyed Two Point Hospital, and was looking forward to Two Point Campus ever since it was announced. I picked it up near launch, and at it's core, it's a fun game. However, it has been plagued with bugs and crashes since launch. I can't play for much more than an hour without the game crashing. I held off on my review, because I wanted to give Two Point Studios the benefit of the doubt and give them time to fix the game. However, it's been a year now. They've released DLC for this broken game without fixing the crashing.. and it appears at this point that it will never be fixed. I'm very disappointed in Two Point Studios lack of quality control with this one.

The Oregon Trail7

This was a fun game, especially if you have any nostalgia for the original. However, I definitely don't think it's worth the full price- $30. It's probably worth it at $15 or less.

Persona 5 Royal9
Dec 8, 2022
Amazing, addictive gameplay and story. I've completed the story and I'm currently working through New Game+. I've found it very hard to put down. Persona 5 Royal performs much better that I was expecting on the Switch. In particular, the loading times impressed me the most. The game's transitions and loads are hardly even noticeable. i wish I could give this game a 10/10, but one **** issue has been really irritating. When playing with the network connection enabled (for additional features), the connection will randomly disconnect. And it can be a hassle to turn back on since you have to go into Config settings to re-enable it. If you're in the middle of story content (such as a school day), you can't access immediately the config settings to re-enable it. Overall, network connectivity has been a frustrating experience, but everything else has been excellent.

Just Dance 2023 Edition3
Dec 8, 2022
Just Dance 2023 does not support Just Dance Unlimited which would give you around 700 additional songs. There is a new subscription service, but it currently only offers around 100 additional songs. Also, why sell a physical edition of the game that only has a download code inside of it (no cartridge)? Just Dance 2023 feels like a significant downgrade from 2022 and previous entries in the series.

Stardew Valley10

**** Valley is an amazing game with addictive gameplay and tons of content. This is one of those games that I'll still be coming back to when all the other games have already grown stale. Best value on the Switch.

Sam & Max Save the World Remastered9
Nov 17, 2021
I enjoyed playing the original Sam & Max, and I also enjoyed this remaster. Sure.. they updated some jokes, but it doesn't take away from the experience in anyway. Remasters are challenging to tackle, especially when they contain content that could be controversial by today's standards. I think they did an excellent job overall at updating this game.

After years of waiting, Nintendo has finally given me a Mario Party I can enjoy! The minigames, boards, and frantic party chaos are all great in this one.

Super Mario Maker 25
Nov 16, 2021
I was quite disappointed with Super Mario Maker 2. it's often cited that you can play "Unlimited Mario levels" with this game, but most of the levels aren't worth playing. I prefer traditional style Mario games, and it's difficult to find the levels that I like to play since most of the highest ranked levels are flashy "auto runner" levels. It's also quite disappointing to spend a lot of time making a level, only to upload it and never have anyone play it. Maybe i got into MM 2 too late to truly enjoy it the way people enjoyed it at launch.

Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan8
Nov 16, 2021
A positive adventure that had me smiling throughout. The game has a beautiful art style as well. However, It lacked some depth in the RPG elements of the game. It was a little too over simplified for my tastes. Overall, this one really surprised me.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons7
Sep 27, 2021
Animal Crossing New Horizons is just as addictive as ever. The visuals are improved and the core gameplay is engaging if you're looking for a relaxing experience. However, the game isn't without some major flaws. I'm not a big fan of the loading times to get into the game. You sit through a load to get to the title screen, then another to be greeted by Isabelle, followed by another load screen to finally start playing the game. It's unacceptable that it takes longer to load into ACNH than it takes to load into a massive game like Breath of the Wild. Also, there's the big issue of "One island per console". This would've been made a little better if it were possible to change the "main player" after starting an island. I wonder how many people started with one primary player who no longer has any interest in playing. Now you're faced with the choice of continuing with your limited experience or starting over and losing everything. This game could be the best game on Switch, but it's plagued by some serious issues that brings the game down for me.
