I'm feeling pretty disappointed so far. I can't stop comparing this to an episode of Dirty Jobs, with Frances McDormand as whatever that guy's name is. All the characters are just monologuing at each other. it's driving me nuts! I really wanted to like this too.

el·e·gy noun 1. a poem of serious reflection, typically a lament for the dead. This does feel like that to me, less about being a slice of life and more about presenting universal themes that you can watch and let your mind wander about. Best Amy Adams performance ever in my opinion. Of course, you can't forget it's her, that's how the whole star system works. If you want to watch a documentary, watch that. This is a Ron Howard movie through and through. It's not exploitative where it could have been. If I could change anything about this movie, it would be all the scenes Amy Adams isn't in. She's that great.

There's still an hour and thirty minutes left but I'm here because I feel sad in my not liking this so far. So thumbs down away! I was excited to see this because of the trailer, but I'm pretty sure everything in the trailer has already happened and now it's like this, people saying how they feel like it's interesting when it's not. I can't pay attention to anything they're saying, I just keep thinking: straight people problems. I was worried this might happen, seeing how I hate straight people. But I definitely hate these straight people. Spoiler alert! Her mom's exhusband is not only gay, she caught him blowing a guy, which is an example of how the jokes work here too, not just some kind of... it's not homophobia. It's just like.... you know, those straight people I hate who make fun of gay people because they're friends with gay people. It's the gaffer character who says he feels comfortable saying what he does because he was raised by two women, only it's like that guy wrote a movie about marriage called Marriage Story and now I'm not watching it because it's so boooooooring these poor rich straight people have so many problems. I'd rather be watching Love Island at least they're self-aware about how **** what they're saying is **** life

I don't understand what's happening and I keep rewinding and I still don't know and it's become a five hour movie at this point and it's boring and I feel stupid and I want to die and it's still not over yet I'm not even watching it right now some epic, epically boring! King of Comedy was better

Beautiful. I'm going to watch it ten more times before I decide whether or not I like the implications of the classist propaganda of the movie but it's so beautiful and so nuanced, I don't think it takes away from it being a great movie.

I'm giving it a 0 because it had beautiful shots but all the conspiracy theories about why it wasn't a success in its day bother me, it's not a good movie.

I hadn't watched the trailers or anything for this before seeing it, otherwise I probably wouldn't have. But isn't this freaking Wonder Woman? Where is the fun? Where is the color! Isn't her uniform like a lot more fun than this Gladiator rip off thing happening all over this movie? And I know I'm arguing right now to get my point across, but does that have to happen this entire movie too? A lot of arguing. A joke about well how do we get to the island full of women with no men that seemed inevitable and then happened and everyone laughed and I was like you **** movie! I actually thought about how I'm tired of getting heterosexuality crammed down my throat so much all the time. Alien, men and women arguing every conversation, can't let a scene go by without a woman being objectified somehow. Even in Wonder Woman! And she keeps being told not to use her super powers and then not using it! You could have saved like 500 people at the same time you were trying on all those dresses like this is freaking Pretty Woman! What a **** movie! Chris Pine is that his name? So boring! Just like someone took a cheese grater and put googly eyes on it and said hey walk around and argue for an hour and a half. Someone next to me cried at the end, so what the hell do I know. Destroy all Heteros! More fun less every movie is Gladiator!!!!!
