Caveblazers is a fast paced rouge-like platformer that provides hours of reliability with its randomly generated levels. The aim of the game is to make your way through the caves, collecting items and money to help you defeat the bosses you find every two levels, and get to the bottom to try to find masses of treasure, however you’ll probably spend most of your time trying to complete the challenges and get achievements. The controls can feel awkward and stiff if you are not using a controller but if you are then it’ll feel a lot easier when playing the game. At the moment there is no actual multiplayer and the only way that other players affect you is on the leader board, however the game is still in development and a multiplayer mode would work extremely well as it would probably work in a similar way to the NPC’s that run around and fight with you, whilst increasing the difficulty to compensate for the human players. The ability’s you can start with and the wide verity of items makes every play through different but the game can still feel repetitive after a while, as the abilities are very unbalanced and you can find yourself using the same one over and over again, but the game has constant updates that may solve this problem but it isn’t certain. The graphics aren’t amazing but they don’t need to be as everything has its own unique look that separates them from everything else in the game. In conclusion at its current state Caveblazers is a fun game with a few downsides, however the game is still in development so future updates are sure to make it even better.
