It's good, while not super special. But believe me, compared to the sequels, this is a masterpiece.

The main character is a stereotypical teen girl. The main antagonists are the stereotypical overly creepy and misogynistic high-school boys in black leather jackets that try to win her by being aggressive against her. There are a couple scenes that make no sense at all and were probably just made to capitalize off of current trends at the time. Mr. Miyagi remains to be an enjoyable character, but that's about all I can give it.

Unnecessary. It's not bad, but we've seen the same formula twice already in more interesting versions.

Sure it's predictable but how many movies from 1984 aren't? It's simply a likeable story of a young boy finding a martial arts master when he most needs one.

I love the dramatic scenes as well as the Japanese village setting. It gives into a couple clichés, but it's still alright.

Flubber? More like filler. So many scenes pointlessly dragged on for too long. The only thing I can give it is that they went pretty nutty with the special effects. But other than that, it's 20 minutes of actual content and I'm not going to spoil too much, but the resolution makes little to no sense. It's a somewhat interesting idea in theory, but I guess it isn't since it would be the length of a TV show episode without all the filler.
