An outstanding experience for a platformer and puzzle game. I'm really looking forward to the third Little Nightmares. The bleak and dark settings of both Little Nightmares is so intriguing and engaging. The puzzle provide moderate challenge. Both games are near perfection in my book.

I loved Little Nightmares from beginning to end. What a novel and visually gratifying this puzzle / platformer game is. I appreciate it even more after playing Little Nightmares 2, a solid 10/10. I played this on Xbox and for some reason Metacritic's Xbox user review function doesn't function for sh&*T

Redfall3
Oct 15, 2024
I played Redfall from beginning to end with a friend in co-op. I did find the setting and environment to be quite exciting and interesting to traverse through. The world of Redfall is quite engaging. However, the game provided no challenge or difficulty and thus no sense of fear or anxiety when encountering the vampires found within Redfall. On top of this the weapons were the same throughout the entire game only 'leveled up'. The skill trees were bland. Overall I found the gameplay to be very repetitive. The mist makes no sense in the game and only provides as some weird physical barrier.

Remnant: From the Ashes6
Oct 15, 2024
Remnant: From the Ashes is an interesting game. I appreciated that it offered a challenge in most boss fights and areas. I did not really get a handle on the setting, though I did enjoy many of the environments. The story / plot I found was completely unengaging and immemorable. The item / armor / weapon progression is very minimal. This can be a good thing, however in this case, the minimalistic nature of the item progression system was not made up in other aspects of the game, like a skill tree. As a result I felt like my character was the same from beginning to end... thus no sense of progression except until the credits were rolling.

Outriders7
Oct 15, 2024
Engaging combat and interesting story line + cinematics. I was pleasantly surprised how much fun I was having while playing Outriders. The combat is a thrill and sometimes challenging. The explosions, effects and gore is top notch. The diversity of AI opponents is excellent and kept me wanting to hunt and discovery more. The landscape and diverse environments are breath taking (for a game). That said... I did not like having to waste my time having to analyze loot. I guess I'm not a fan the looting aspect of looter-shooters. I'd prefer to find few gun and armor that are more impactful the the game rather than endless loot and having to distinguish each and every piece. Additionally, as a game, I did not find Outriders to be challenging enough throughout the game at the highest difficulty settings that I was provided. I HATE being locked into a particular difficulty.. Both this difficulty lock and the annoyance of dealing with loot constantly is why I rate Outriders a solid 7.

Halo Infinite5
Oct 15, 2024
I really enjoyed the environment and the mechanisms for traversing the world Halo Infinite presents. However, the action was quite repetitive and i was board after the first hour. Additionally, having not played any of the former Halo's (single player) i was not familiar of the backstory of Master Chief and Cortana, which I found myself complete lost and therefore unengaged with the Halo Infinites plot.

Fallout 768
Jul 30, 2023
I'd like to give this game a 10/10 just to counter these unfair negative or antiquated reviews. However, I'll keep it a 8/10 for how I feel the game is as I'm progressing through it. I'm having a blast traversing through the Appalachia. I do feel that this game doesn't do much for co-op or multiplayer. I do like having the live events, however the quest like structuring of the game doesn't leave the door open for exploration and adventure when playing with friends in co-op. To say the least it is a bit boring in co-op and is not challenging enough. However, where the game does shine is when playing as if single player or lone wanderer. Graphics and environment is beautiful. The combat and stealth mechanics are well fleshed out. The NPC interaction and quests are refreshing enough. There are some lurking hidden dangers where the player can die rather quickly. Overall I'm going to keep playing until complete. I do wish the difficulty would scale better. I like a challenge.

Titanfall 29
Jul 30, 2023
Outstanding game! The combat is fluid and intense. May different options to get through each scenario. The game is challenging (I played on hardest difficulty). in some parts and other give the player a breather. Well paced and the changing scenarios is refreshing. Pros: -Best combat of any first person single player shooter I've come across next to Doom (2016) -I quite enjoy the time warp aspect to the game (and plot twists) -The titans are a lot of fun to play in. -Leave one feeling powerful and threatening as a "pilot" -excellent graphics for a 2016 game, still looks and scales well today. Cons: -Auto saving doesn't easily allow for player to go back and try something new. -The AI can be a bit of a cheater (wall hack) harder difficulties. -not much of an imaginative story, though what can we expect in a war / battle based concept ****?

Apex Legends8
Dec 11, 2021
December 2021 update: Numerous improvements have been made. I have not come across any players that I suspected were cheating since I've revisited the game within the past two months. Great game now, although I would like to be able to play all the maps available not just a selected 2 or 3. I had to give Apex Legends a try. It is, after all, free to play. I've been having a lot of fun with it. It is a challenging multiplayer game. Gun fights are exhilarating, and the mechanics and feel of the game is quite responsive. Player hit boxes are appropriately sized. I've not experienced any latency issues. The graphics look great. The game runs smoothly on my GTX 1060 at highest settings. The map (only 1 thus far), is superb, there are some very cool environments (zones) all packed into a single map. I only have a few criticisms. -A number of the characters seem like they were ripped from Borderlands (Siren, Maniac (Octane)) and Overwatch. Three of the 'legends' require a lot of time playing to unlock or can be purchased with real money. though they are not needed to enjoy the game as it is quite balanced. -There are a number of cheaters playing. While it took a while until I identified a cheater with aim bots, I did find 2 within only an hour of playing during one evening. One was my random team-mate and then another that i suspected and spectated to see that indeed the player was using an aim bot. Apex Legends is a successful free to play multiplayer game, and thus, cheats are to be expected. I just hope it doesn't get any worse and the developers stay on top of it. -There is only one map.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan8
Dec 11, 2021
Thrilling game. Man of Medan looks incredible on my 1080p with Xbox series S system. Setting the lighting as recommended really adds to the spooky environment of the game. As to not spoil the game... I'd highly recommend acquainting oneself well with the Xbox controller A, B, X, Y. I found often my inexperience with the controller led to outcomes I did not want, nor was there any save / way to replay a particular scene. I felt the character development well done considering the game play time. Though some aspects of the game (character relations) does not seem like it would affect the outcome of the game albeit marginally. Therefore this dynamic, I'd opine, was unneeded or could have been more thoroughly implemented. Overall, I've enjoyed it for the 4 hours it took me to play through, I'm anticipating one more play through to get a different end game outcome.

Update: I first booted up No Man's Sky about 2 years ago. I've now put in ~250 hours. The exploring is thrilling, and the progression in terms of equipment is addicting. That said there are a few parts of the game that can be improved upon. Update Oct 2020: The developers added storms, new ships, new horrors and ghost ship (frigates) to explore. New planets with hazards and my favorite improvement... wait for it...... VARIABLE GRAVITY!!!. Update: I first booted up No Man's Sky about 2 years ago. I've now put in ~250 hours. Update Oct 2020: The developers added storms, new ships, new horrors and ghost ship (frigates) to explore. New planets with hazards and my favorite improvement... wait for it...... VARIABLE GRAVITY!!!. Pros: -runs smoothly on an older system gtx 860mobile at medium graphics settings 1080p. (update: Oct. 2020... NMS is no longer friendly to my gtx 860, i'd recommend a minimum **** 960 or better now) -The ships and are beautifully designed. Update: even greater diversity of ships now. Oct 2020 -I really enjoy how the multitools work as weapons / tools and how they are replaced and upgraded. -the game provides some challenge in terms of environment. -The planets and creatures are awesome and diverse (enough). -exploration via ship or on foot is wonderful. -leaving a planet and landing on one is thrilling. -crafting bases is fun and easy to understand. -Grinding for resources is not necessary, IF!, one learns the shortcuts. Cons: -Few intelligent alien life forms to fight against on foot (only the sentinals are available to fight) -Little diversity in spaceship vs spaceship dog fighting. -Void of other players to interact with.. Update: Oct. 2020, limited interaction with other players. -The game could be more accurate in terms of elements e.g. di-hydrogen, deuterium, tritium and what could be used with such elements on the periodic table if not only to be educational. -NO gas planets / giants? There should at least be planets that one should avoid at all costs or risk instant death and alternatively the player can send a probe into such planets. -No interaction with Stars, no change in gravity experienced on different planet / massive bodies (Update: there is now different experiences in gravity... BRAVO!!).

Wow... I just finished the single player campaign on no less than nightmare difficulty. All I can think about now is Doom and wonder why I didn't play it sooner (when released). Hands down, 10/10. I love this game. I feel like a kid again when playing it.. It brings back everything I enjoyed about the original DOOM and so much more. It has inspired me creatively. One really feels like they are the doom marine. Buy this game at full price... I'd still pay $60 dollars today just to have it in my collection. Unfortunately there is no multiplayer community. I think the maps and models are wonderfully designed. Its unfortunate that doom multiplayer didn't get any attention.. Though, this might be expected as they're so many multiplayer games out there to compete with

Age of Wonders: Planetfall9
Aug 15, 2019
So far SO good. All in all it is evident that the developers have put a lot of time and attention to detail in this game. I'm not finding any game breaking bugs. Pros: (thus far) -beautiful coloring scheme. -maps are gorgeous -sound effects are amusing -tactical turn-based combat phase of the game is excellent. -great unit diversity -Ooo. .I do love seeing those big bugs explode. -game runs smoothly and looks wonderful. Cons: -AoW Planetfall adds far more complexity than seen in AoW III with the research tree, This is not necessarily a good thing. Too much choice is too much and will turn off novice players or those getting into this series for the first time. -The developers went overboard with the research upgrade / skill trees, it is neither intuitive or helpful in explaining upgrades to sectors. -shallow learning curve (shallow means slow to learn) -Much to learn in order to play the game efficiently. It will take trial and error to figure out the research - sector mechanics of the game. -some quests get completed by NPCs instead of the player. After having upgraded and commissioned some military units, the NPC allies have nearly or already completed the main quest. This is irritating, I want to play the game, not observe the computer doing it. There are a few bugs here and there (I think), e.g. the number of moves a particular unit can make on the map, sometimes it can only move once and the next time can move 5 hexagons... One thing I'd like changed. Some of the units can only transverse terrain 3 hexagons at a time, which is painfully slow. Finally, I wish reviewers would stop citing 'X-com like'. Age of Wonders series was doing turn-based combat long before X-com: enemy unknown was released (10 years before).

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger6
Jul 30, 2019
Interesting game 6/10. I'd recommend it for anything less than $10. The game is linear leaving no option for exploration. That is unfortunate because much of the distant scenery is outstanding to view. The gun slinging is satisfying and smooth, and the narrative as a story / historical fiction is engaging. In shot, Call of Juarez Gunslinger is fun.. It had my interest for 7 hours and will get no more. Pros: -Game doesn't go on too long past its interesting points. -gun slinging is quite thrilling. -engaging narrative / story -some environments are beautifully crafted. -all the weapons are thrilling to use, especially the pistols and shotgun. -fluid controls. Cons: -I didn't care for the duels at all. these were just frustrating -quick time events, blehh.... -the visual depth of the game when not moving makes field of view seem very 2D -a bit too linear. -not much replay value after the campaign has been completed once. -some graphical errors here and there.

Beautiful platformer. I played through Trine with 3D glasses using Nvidia 3D vision now with at least one friend playing with a second controller on local co-op. Fun, engaging and does not get dull on first play through. Though, I cannot see any reason to play through a 2nd time. So I bought Trine 2, which is even better. If you enjoy 2D art without the need for an epic story then give Trine a try. Trine and Trine 2 are an excellent thrill to play with friends/company over local co-op.

Risen8
Mar 9, 2019
58.2 hrs on record Wheww.. finally beat Risen after 58.2 hours, solid game. Combat is a bit clunky thus leading to lots of deaths and reloads (also due to traps), However, the setting and narrative of Risen is beautifully crafted. The Island is fun to explore and is open world. I enjoyed the game very much, albiet progression in the beginning is slow. It takes nearly 15-20 hours of game time just to get the first peice of armor (unless the player steals it from the first farm they encounter). Great game, though lacking much replayability, going the 'Don' path really isnt a fun or worthwhile option.

Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide9
Mar 9, 2019
Left for dead 2 (L4D2), with rats instead of zombies. Vermintide has much higher quality graphics and shading than does L4D2. The game plays smoothly on older graphics cards at med - high settings (gtx 860). Fun game progression, though, I do feel that more of the DLC should be included for free with the base game at this point. Lots of fun playing this with friends in a LAN setting. Many laughs, action packed.

RAGE7
Mar 9, 2019
I'd recommend one to buy Rage for less than $5.00. The game itself plays fliudly, the visuals and atmosphere are excellent for a 2011 game. Oddly the textures are a muddy mess when one closely examines them, however, as your playing the game it looks wonderful. The environment, however, in considering exploration is poorly lacking. Rage has such a great world that begs the player to explore it and yet limits the player to shallow halls and narrow corridors. One cannot simply jump over a knee high rock to explore anything. The gun fights and combat 'feel' is awesome, I'd argue it is some of the most satisfying combat out there. The weapons are diverse and great fun to play around with particularly when considering the different ammo types. Sadly, the best ammo types and guns are not accessible until too late in the game.. the BFG, for example, the player gets in the last 5 minutes of the game. WTF.. what an awesome ammo / gun and I got to use it ONCE?? They rushed the end, and there is no end boss. The is no end really, this speaks of id getting tired of the development and said to themselves "f**K it just release as is". The wasteland looks awesome, but there is nothing to do in it aside from the crappy racing and poorly impletmented car fights. The vehicles drive well, however, the racing and car battles are a complete yawn and are pointless. Just skip this part of the game entirely. Overall, great FPS on a budget.

Overwatch7
Mar 9, 2019
Blizzard has continually, albeit slowly, adding new content in the form of maps and heroes. Fun action competitive multiplayer game. The matchmaking system can be frustrating at times.. I keep getting placed into late matches on the losing end. Overwatch has a great diversity of character /'Hero's' with special powers or an 'Ultimate' power. Each hero feels vastly unique from another. I've played a total of about 40 hours in the past two weeks (total in game time - not in lobby or waiting to play). The game is superbly balanced and runs smoothly on older systems GTX 740 with core 2 duo (at least 30 fps on med low settings). The color and contrast, and texturing of the game is far more appeasing to me than that of TF2 or Battleborn (too much color, and little shading). The maps are individually unique, beautiful and require different team strategies and hero makeup to overcome ones opponents. I'm having a blast playing Overwatch...That said, I would not recommend buying the game at the current price of $40. See below for reasons why. -Currently the community is irritating to play with, only 1/10 players in pick up groups use a mic. -As a multiplayer only game, it is disappointing that there are no options to filter games. For example, I'd like to filter out preformed groups when I'm playing with a random PUG group. Also, the matchmaking for this game is horrendous. I've been placed into a game that is within 1-2 min. of the end of the match and loosing several times in a row. Further on this point, the devs have stated that match making takes into account several factors...including player performance to match. It now seems like I am stuck with players who really do not play at all as a team (no mic, no communication) and as a result my wins : loses is gradually decreasing. -We NEED more maps. 14 maps and only 3 types of game modes (the game states 4, however, two of which are really the same thing escort vs the hybrid). -There is little sense of progression. Nobody gives a s**T about sprays. -The HIT boxes are larger than they appear, it creates a system whereby players with poor aim get many B.S. kills, evident by the kill cam afterwards and the occasional frag when you are clearly safely on the other side of a wall (attributable to the hitbox). -You can shoot through your allies? WTH? I can understand no TKs, however this creates a scenario where Hanzo and Widowmaker get a bunch of B.S. eliminations without having to really place their cross hairs on an opponent.. Overall I very much like the game. Blizzard just needs to get more maps out, and create a filter system and then I would gladly bump my rating up to 8-9 which is a recommend from me.

Fallout: New Vegas4
Feb 13, 2019
Reviewed Feb. 2019. I almost finished New Vegas and gave up: Having completed Fallout 3 years ago. I thought I'd play New Vegas before playing Fallout 4. I'll compare New Vegas to Fallout 3. The low score (< 6)) is reflective of the bugs that are present, seemingly irreparable. (running Windows 10). Pros: -More thrilling plot: (revenge) -Better side quests. -More beautiful and less restrictive environment (sandbox- literally the desert). Cons: -Buggy and choppy as can be. -Poor ass inventory management. OMG it is awful. There is too much crap to carry. the player is not left with much sense of what is useful to keep with them. -Some armored enemies are bullet / laser / grenade sponges. It takes too long to defeat such enemy AI even while targeting the models head. -Only the combat perks are useful. Just forget all builds except the combat intensive builds. No use for the survivalist where the desert is just still punishing. (dehydration and not way around it) -Poor main plot quest narrative. Player rarely experiences the primary plot throughout the game. -All the mods that are available and I cannot get a single one to function without crashing the game. I've gone through all the directions to install and they all bug the game out to where it crashes (steam version).

Battlefield 43
Jan 7, 2019
I've near finished the base campaign. The action is fun, but the characters are a cliche and show little depth. The action is fun to play through... WHEN I get the chance to actually play instead of watching so many cut scenes or hands off ghost cinematic. BUT... I bought this game to play multiplayer so my score reflects my satisfaction in multiplayer only. Multiplayer Battlefield 4: is simply frustrating... I loved BF: Bad Company 2. -My biggest complaint exists with the vehicles. The vehicles are far too maneuverable. They can turn on a dime and attack any position. The vehicles make little to no sound so the player cannot tell they are even nearby or even directly behind the player. They can move forward and in reverse at full speed almost instantaneously. The cannons and guns also have no reduced speed to aim unlike in previous BF installments. This make it almost impossible to hide from a tank, the drivers can round a corner faster than a player on foot can run. And finally, THE TANKS and Helicopters MAKE LITTLE TO NO SOUND!! I cannot count the number of times a tank sneaks up behind my soldier while I'm running and not under gun fire. I can actually hear footsteps from other enemies on foot better then the vehicles. This needs to be fixed, how has this been overlooked? Stealth tanks.. yeah that makes sense. =/ It is telling that the developers do not even play this game. It is **** -Latency issues / rubberbanding on servers where I 'supposedly' have a 20-40 ping. -While searching through servers in lobby, many of the servers show there are 40+ players in game when there are not any in reality. -The BF4 takes far to long to start unlocking the weapons and gear for each weapon must be unlocked separately. This takes forever. It ruins the balance of the game, especially considering these weapons and gear do provide a significant advantage of beginning equipment (stability, accuracy, recoil, spread for guns and longevity or speed when being attacked both in vehicles and on foot) -The maps are gorgeous! however, they are not designed well from the perspective of being fun. A player is almost forced to camp and there are ~4 entrances to every building or roof. There is absolutely nowhere one can take a shot at an opponent that does not leave them exposed to retaliation fire. -There is TOO much clutter to get stuck on in several maps.
